A list of puns related to "Hotel Management"
Iβm 18 and am planning on applying to Fanshawe for this upcoming September. I donβt know which one I should pick. Pre-Health is more practical maybe seeing as theyβre looking for employees as of right now. I could see myself being a paramedic but itβs not something Iβve always wanted to do. I could totally see myself working in a hotel/resort around the world. I love to travel and that seems like a good program for me, but might not be as practical. I have the grades needed for each course and my parents just want me to pick what I want to do. So itβs up to me. But I want to make the right decision. What would you guys suggest?
I was browsing some close to the water property that allows daily / weekly rentals with professional management ranging from 350-1.3m. Thinking about buying one of these to go to a few times a year and as an inflation hedge. Anyone have one of these? Alternative is a place that allows rentals a few times a year and finding a local management company to deal with it.
Original post here.
Long story short,
>Am night audit at hotel.
>Management felt rounds were not walked properly based on camera footage.
>Decided to give them a dance show to let them know i was keenly aware of them watching now. >Made a reddit post about it and you guys helped me come up with my next moves.
So here's an update.
Before going to work today, I got a call from my supervisor. It came to his attention that it was inappropriate that I was now making my rounds in "an exaggerated way" and that i would "know what he was talking about". I laughed and said i was just dancing to make a statement. Well "that ends now" he said. I promised i would stop... dancing that is. It took little effort on my part to make that concession, because thanks to you guys I had a ton of ideas of what other maliciously compliant shenanigans to pull next.
However, management hadn't been sitting still either. The first thing I noticed clocking in today, is that our security feed now has all interior camera's in full view, taking the spot of the garage, outside elevators, revealing more camera's than I initially counted. I can only see this as a challenge. Management is letting me know they have eyes everywhere. Glad to know I have their attention.
Because tonight, as well as the coming weekend, the theme is HORROR. First, I tried to do my rounds in erratic pathways. Then the parking basement, then the 2nd floor. from the 8th floor to the 5th, making sure to take the unmonitored staircases as much as I could. The idea is that I would seem to be in one place one moment, then appear out of nowhere somewhere else completely randomly.
Phase two was going down the creepy staircase where there was just 1 camera and after first standing still for a minute, frozen in motion. I stared directly into it for about 2 minutes. But no dancing. Nor more than the occassional deliberate "eyecontact". Still, sometimes my walking just seemed a little... off. Then it would go back to normal. Then off. Then back to normal again.
I also tried to give the impression that the camera's were bugging out by crossing a monitored hallway, walking backwards, then forwards, backwards and forwards again, at times freezing mid walk while making jerky, jittery movements, then walking twice as fast as if I were a lagging NPC (i know a bit of pop and lock, it helped!
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hello! I have been working at a event operations manager (banquet manager) for the past 6 months at my hotel. I graduated from college in may 2020 but took a break from the hotel world before coming back 6 months ago.
In college I worked at the front desk for 4 years as a supervisor and did 2 internships in housekeeping.
The issue is that I HATE my job in banquets. I hate my boss (Director), I hate banquets, hate everything about it. My dream would be to be an event manager (but that position is full in my hotel right now) or housekeeping manager. I would also be fine with front desk.
How do people usually transfer to different positions in the hotel? I see on LinkedIn that it is common for people to move around in positions a lot but how do they do it? Do you usually just apply to the position or does someone (like a GM) bring the opportunity to you?
My concern is that the banquet department is severely understaffed. Itβs only me and a director. My Director has a lot of short comings in their job so a lot of the other departments are grateful for me because I keep the department organized. Iβm worried I canβt move to another position because of that. And I donβt want to quit because I like this management company and donβt want to burn any bridges.
Im miserable though!! Please help.

I'm more or less wondering how our building can legally change from exclusively apartments to apartments/hotel rooms and if they can force us to keep our lease. One of the main reasons many of us moved into the building was due to the fact it wasn't a hybrid building like many others in downtown Nashville. Turning this into a hotel/apartment building completely affects two of the reasons I originally moved into the building, amenities and safety. I also have a fear that they may decide to not renew my lease next year to open up more hotel rooms so I would like to get out ahead of it. Is there anyway I can legally break my lease or is this even legal in the first place? They are also holding a "town hall" with the new management company tomorrow night so I would like to be prepared with questions.
Hotel Managers; how much would you pay for a customer experience measurement report?
I operate a market research company and am trying to find out how much hoteliers would be willing to pay for a 40 page report based on a thorough customer experience analysis at your property.
In addition to qualitative data being quantified through our excel model, we provide support on all travel media platforms. We communicate areas of improvement, and establish a baseline on our first visit.
I have a decade of managerial experience in hotels and resorts and have a mission to teach and improve the customer experience at every hotel I work with.
Baseline is measured as full service experience from start to finish. Every experience is recorded in the report. Reservation is one night. Dinner and/or Breakfast is preferred to gauge F&B but not required.
Ideal price would be $500 exclusive of room, F&B, and tax.
Please share honest thoughts and thank you.
