A list of puns related to "Horseradish Root"
I do have shiso but I don't love it as much as arugula. Shiso, is like a snack, It's very fragrant in flavor, but I can't eat a whole bowl of it. Just to looking grow some more leafy but flavorful veggies in 2022. The garden typically carries sage, lemongrass, lettuce, eggplant, spinach, garlic, onions, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, Thai peppers, Ghost peppers, chives, tomatoes, bitter melon, English cucumbers, loofah, fennel, aniseed, and some Kale every year. But I'm looking to try a different veggie. Has anyone ever grown those large leeks? What was your experience? What's your go to dish for the large leeks?
Ive tried united noodle already and local cubs and kowalskis dont seem to have it.
Astoria preferably, but if you know of any place in the city I'll take those recommendations too. Thanks!!!!

Does anyone know of someone who farms fresh horseradish root? Iβm looking for a consistent source.
Thanks!
My family got a horseradish root to make sauce to go with a new year's roast. Trouble is, if you put the whole root in, you either end up with way too much sauce or you end up with something strong enough to be classed as a chemical weapon.
We've tried freezing them, both grated and ungrated, but I've always been a bit disappointed with the results. I find that it tends to lose a lot of its bite and it develops a bitterness. I'd like to see if I can figure out something to do with it that doesn't involve freezing it.
So, does anyone know what else to do with it? I've tried googling it but most places just suggest using it as a condiment, and there's only so much horseradish sauce you can feasibly eat (even though I'll eat the damn stuff until it burns my tongue, lol). I thought that it might give a bit of oomph to a stew or soup or something, but I'm curious to see if anyone has any other suggestions.
Thanks in advance!
Some real middle class nightmare shit here. I can't find fresh horseradish root anywhere.

Cheers

Is the powder nutritionally equivalent to the root?
Does anyone know where I can buy Horseradish root to make my own horseradish sauce? Can't find it in any shops and eBay only seems to sell roots for planting (still very small).
Random question, but do any markets in Astoria sell fresh horseradish root? I'd love to grate some into a sauce for a holiday roast but not sure how easy it would be to track down.
