So, my teacher told me that I shouldn't do Hamsa in meditation because "sa" is considered a sacred syllable. This is completely new to me in close to 20 years of practice. I have searched everywhere for more information, I asked my teacher for more information. I can't find anything. I searched this board too hoping to find something. Please help with my confusion. Are there any mantras I shouldn't be using or could be using incorrectly.
I was breathing with Ham(on the inhale) and Sa(on the exhale) trying to contemplate "I am that". This is what I understand to be correct. I am approaching this with a spirit of learning, and I appreciate any genuine, honest feedback.

I've tried drawing it so many times, I've tried creating it on a computer but I can't seem to get it right. I have drawn all of my tattoos so far and this is the first time that I've asked for help. I'm trying to cover part of my forearm. The Hamsa should have floral, leaves or filigree that depicts nature. As for the eye I would like it to be vivid and look as if it isn't a left or right eye. The tree top coming from the fingertips & the roots at the bottom of the palm.
