A list of puns related to "Haemoglobin"
20F, 77kg, 167cm, Black.
Iโve been having severe fatigue and tingling in my body parts for just under a year. Initially, I had low iron, folic acid and vitamin D. When there was little progress they started to test me for thyroid issues, liver problems and diabetes. My Hba1c was reported to be โout of rangeโ and under doctor review. The receptionist couldnโt give me the exact figures so I assumed I was going to be diagnosed with diabetes the next time I saw my doctor.
She finally contacted me and said I potentially have a โvariant of haemoglobinโ and that they needed to do another test to check for the โpresence of variantโ. What does that mean?
Did everyone learn that during the year? Our school taught it but i was wondering if anyone has never even hea rtd of it.
Tl;Dr: I've been feeling unwell (fatigued, dizzy, weak, come close to fainting a few times, losing my balance when walking, laboured breathing, tingling limbs and lips). Could that be because my haemoglobin is 104 g/L?
I'm 24+1 (by ultrasound, 24+5 by ovulation). My OB said my haemoglobin was 114 g/L (11.4 g/dL) on 22 June, then 107 on 16 July, which was a "substantial drop." She said they were more worried about the fast drop than the overall levels, and put me on iron supplements (100 mg of elemental iron) every second day. (It was daily, but I couldn't handle the abdominal pain they gave me. It's just tolerable on every second day.)
I had another blood test yesterday and hgb was 104 g/L (10.4 g/dL), which the midwife said was the low end of normal. I asked for an iron infusion because I'm feeling so awful, and was told it doesn't sound pregnancy or iron related.
I've you've experienced anaemia, what were your levels, and did you have any symptoms?

Hello
I have a genuine question about Jehova Witnesses
and abstaining from the blood of other living beings. I am coming from a place of genuinely wanting to understand/learn more about why things are how they are.
As I understand they abstain from consuming/taking in blood or what blood is made up of. I was wondering how this is navigated with the consumption of meat, since meat especially red meat does contain some haemoglobin which essentially is what red blood cells are made from and the meat can contain some small amounts of residual blood in it.
Does this mean that Jehova Witness
abstain from meat aswell since blood products could be in it, especially since my understanding is they would refuse a haemoglobin transfer.
Any insight would be great
Thank you

If youโre talking about the red stuff in the package of meat, thatโs not actually blood, itโs a mixture of protein, myoglobin, and water which all contribute to its reddish color.
I believe Jehovahโs witnesses
only eat red meats that have been bled and have been cooked to a doneness so as to not have any vis
Hey guys. Ambulance paramedic here, planning on getting into offshore medicine and all that good stuff. A few times we've had the old lady who 'just doesn't feel right', and after thorough questioning and assessment, no abnormal stools or such, no other indications of anaemia or internal bleed, on lab tests in hospital, turns out their haemoglobin is something mad like 7g/dl and they have had a microbleed in their GI tract nobody knew about. My question to you guys is have any of ye experience with the โฌ50ish haemoglobin testing kits from China? Obviously thorough patient assessment trumps most fancy gadgets, just thinking for offshore work, if I've thrown the bag at the patient and nothing sticks, are these kits worth a shot? Knowledge is power. Cheers!
I have been having borderline high Haemoglobin, Hematocrit, RBC levels post covid since last 9 months. Along with this headaches, dizziness, some shortness of breath whenever the weather changes and other issues.
Anyone else having the same thing?
If I have normal ferretin and haemoglobin and low serum ferretin does that mean I have anemia? Do I need to be worried?
I'm trying to help my friend and could do with some advice or pointers please.
Doctor says to stop taking multivitamin because Folic Acid and Haemoglobin levels were too high in recent blood test. I'm sure that some supplements would definitely be of benefit though.
I'm surprised because Folic Acid is water-soluble and I thought it would be flushed out if taken in excess?
I've read that high folic acid levels can indicate a deficiency of B12. No doubt its a lot more complicated than that. She usually takes a B12 supplement but ran out a few weeks ago.
Symptoms my friend has are constant brain fog, poor memory, poor sleep ( very low REM), IBS (likely lactose intolerant, better on an almost vegan diet) Reynauds Syndrome, constant general muscle aches on right side of the body in particular, cracking joints.
All suggestions much appreciated. Thanks.
Iโm a 33 yr old male/south asian. I got a regular health check-up done recently(last week). No health issues as such, was just accompanying dad.
I got a similar result when I got the CBC test done in early June 2021.
What should I be looking out for? Any additional tests recommended?
When I googled this, from the list of symptoms mentioned, the only ones I have is lethargy/fatigue.

Hey guys, need some advice. Iโm 23F, healthy with no history of anaemia. I have donated blood twice before and have been trying to donate for the third time but kept getting rejected..itโs been 5 months since my last successful blood donation and Iโve also waited 17 days after my period but my haemoglobin count is still 11.9. When I got rejected last month it was 11.5 and they said I should qualify after a week but Iโve waited a month and itโs still only 11.9. I do have heavy period.. Is this something I should be concern of? Or is there a special phase of the month for females to qualify for blood donation?
My entire family has various degree of Thalassemia (non-transfusion), traits and other haemoglobin disorders. My parents had allergic reactions to the second dose of covishield vaccine.
I need to know whether rest of us (below 45) should take the vaccine for covid-19 or not. Where can I get this information online/over phone?
Hi guys
A big thank you to all those that contribute to this sub!
A bloodwork showed haemoglobin at 170 g/l. The Dr. said this meant there's no risk of t-deficieny due to it being too high.
Is that true?
If not, what could explain she saying this?
In the notes (accessed via webpage) she has written that the EVF level at 0.5 together with the haemoglobin levels meant no risk for t-defiency.
T was at 8.6nmol/l (247 ng/dl).
On the test it says "P--testosterone 8.6"
I've been on Ferrous Fumarate 210mg for seven days now, not felt nausea in any way, with so far the only side effect being dark hard stools.
I've had to suspend my cycling hobby because I just didn't have the energy and my recovery after a ride took days. Today I've woken up and I sort of feel slightly different, I feel like I've too much energy to not do anything, which has been the case for the last three weeks but not enough to contemplate anything strenuous. I managed to cut the grass yesterday and felt OK afterwards, I was mindful to only do that and not get carried away like I usually do.
Anyone know roughly how much time it takes to feel normal? I know that I'm on these pills for three months but I suspect that the time you start feeling your old self will be sooner?
