A list of puns related to "Gummy Candy"
I know this sounds weird, but I've always loved the taste and texture of gummy medicine. (Like vitamins or melatonin gummies) It's not the same as gummy bears or worms. I can't find any gummy candy with the same texture as medicine gummies. Regular gummy candy has a chewy, springy, almost tough texture. Gummy medicines have a softer, easy to bite through texture, that always has a slight grit. How to replicate this at home? All the recipes I've found seem to attempt to replicate traditional gummy candies and don't satisfy my desire for that texture.
I eventually want to make my own candies to sell. Nothing big, just local. Probably won't even get that far really. I just hate using the jello recipes cuz it doesn't feel like real gummies and it limits your flavors
Ever since fusion I thought they looked tastyβ¦
I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian (although the lacto is really just cheese, I don't drink milk lol) and I don't eat gelatin. I have a craving for peach rings and I'm wondering if any of you have any recommendations! Over the years I've found decent gummy candy from Trader Joe's and know what the accidentally vegan gummy candies are and 99% of the time that's totally fine. I really don't even eat candy usually, but I have a hankering!
Edit: I posted this and then immediately forgot! Thank you to everyone for answering! I have had the smart sweets peach rings but they are simply not the same π₯²
The sugar from the candy is a dental nightmare fml. Send help
Aloha, I'm on the big island of Hawaii. We have some unique stuff here that you can't get on mainland US - lots of Asian candies, lilikoi (passion fruit) and other tropical butters and jams, Kona coffee, Mochi, Ube (purple sweet potato) snacks, macadamia nut snacks and treats, and I'm sure a lot more stuff that I can't think of that I take for granted.
US sour gummy candies SUCK compared to Canada and Europe, so would love trade for the good stuff.
Thanks
So first question! Hard candy has been much more successful of the two. Iβm using LorAnnβs Hard Candy Mix, and mixing in tincture at the end of the process. The added moisture seems to affect the hardness of the candy and makes the end product more sticky than Iβd like. Can this be mitigated by reducing the tincture down? Or is infused oil recommended for hard candy?
Second question regarding the gummies: the texture seems to be justβ¦ jello. Which is fine I guess? But not really what I want. Iβm using tincture for this too, which may be the problem. Iβm also not using lecithin, which may also be the problem.
Iβve used this recipe but as I said, didnβt use the lecithin.
Is the secret a different type of infusion (coconut oil maybe?), lecithin (soy or sunflower?) or maybe guar gum (which Iβve seen mentioned in other gummy texture posts)?
Anyway thanks in advance for reading my long winded post and for any advice you might have. βπ»
Anyone know of any places in the area to buy this type of candy (small gummy pizza slices) locally? Try to avoid having a small bag of candy shipped to me.

Just had a Haribo Mega Roulette gummi candy and was reminded of a very similar harder gummy candy from childhood in the late 70s/early 80s. They were similarly concave, but I believe individually wrapped & also in a roll but maybe rectangular in shape? Itβs driving me crazy not being able to remember or even find the nameβ¦
Thanks for any help!!
