A list of puns related to "Glycerides"
I have for the second time bought a skincare product that contained in such small print an ingredient I am allergic too. Both times were nut allergy related with the first in a body scrub that had pistachio oil.
As for the one I dealt with tonight it was an Aveeno daily moisturizing body wash with oats in it. I should have been more careful because the baby body wash never had it but this one contained something called Peg-20 Almond Glycerides. So I broke out in a rash and have a slight cough now because I didn't check until after using it.
I posted this mostly as a reminder that cosmetics and skincare have these products and it is important to be diligent so as to not have a reaction like this. I wish that the companies were required to fully label the allergens or atleast make them bolder in print.
Note: Almond Glycerides are listed as a derivative of almond oil but I didn't see much information on them besides that.
As the title says, Iβm allergic to sunflower oil, and I have a can of shaving cream with the above ingredient. Would using it trigger a reaction?
That's a statement I read on some blog, it's supposed to become clear after I read it.
Idk, I believe it looks horrifying and gross regardless of nationality of the viewer.
Maybe because it takes place in a BBQ restaurant?
Online I often see it mentioned that emulsifiers like mono/diglycerides and polysorbate 80 are stronger than lecithin and great to use in ice cream. Are there any advantages other than cost/strength? I was wondering if one could simply use more lecithin :o
Going in blind. No premise. No preface. Heard it's a good story. Wish me luck
I've noticed that a LOT of bakery products such as bread and tortillas contain mono- and di-glycerides of fatty acids, also known as E471.
I've tried searching online and some places seem to say that these are a way of hiding trans fats and not having to write partially hydrogenated oil, other places say they are not.
Does anyone know for certain whether these are trans fats and therefore best avoided?
