A list of puns related to "Fuzz Bass"
I've got a new am pro 2 p bass (new shit!) and my pedals don't seem to be cooperating the way they did with my old epiphone eb-3.
I have a bass tube screamer into a bass big muff into a peavey tour 700 (or something) with a 4x10 and a 1x15 stack.
On the eb-3 the muff was a really nice deep fuzzy synthy sound (on the mudbucker, so that's probably got a lot to do with it). On the P, I can't get that fat sound, I'm about ready to try another pedal. I've flipped all the switches and turned all the knobs, it just feels either thin or clobbered, I can't get a good setting after the TS.
I have used the muff as a bit of a boost/fuzz thing during guitar solo parts in our 3-piece punk-ish band. Something to fill out the sound while the guitar isn't making chords.
So the question is, got any advice on settings? Or got any advice on different fuzzy pedals to do the job I was describing above?
Thanks, yall
Edit: I keep the TS on pretty much all the time. So I'm looking for something that will line up after that to add the fuzzy sound. I don't have a compression pedal, and I'm open to that discussion as well
Looking to build my first pedalboard.
I love how it sounds on the demo videos on guitar. Curious if anyone has used it for bass.
For context, I play guitar and bass. Iβve had the MXR bass fuzz deluxe for years and itβs fine, but Iβve never loved it. I was thinking of grabbing a bass muff, but was pretty impressed with the Hizumitas in the videos Iβve seen. Thinking it might be worth picking up if it sounds good on bass as well
I have a marcus miller v5 for about 7 months and it was working fine until i changed my my strings 2 weeks ago at first everything was fine but 4 days ago my bass was fuzzing at higher strings so i adjustet the truss rod i didnt really do anything so i changed it back to the original position and it got worse. i tried playing around with the action and the truss rod adjustment and the fuzzing just doesnt go away i kinda made it worse i dont know what i can do now to fix the fret buzz my bass is now unplayable just to much fuzz i looked at many tutorials and did it how they showed in the videos but nothing worked pls help.
i got the ernie ball super slinky 45-100 strings
As the title says, I'm looking for a fuzz/distortion to play shoegaze and I would like to know which of these would work with the genre.
Tc electronic Magus pro (3 Rats in one)
ProCo Rat
EHX Nano Green Russian muff
EHX Nano Op Amp muff
EHX Nano triangle muff
Behringer SF-300 (Super fuzz)
Danelectro French Toast
Boss MD-2 (Mega Distortion)
Any other suggestions under $100 would be useful.
This is an old post that I'm keeping around for the trade bot. Please ignore
Foxpedal Wrath - excellent condition. Has sweepable reutz mod for retaining low end. Also a cut knob, which is somewhat like a tone knob and can bring a nice aggressiveness to your tone that many reutz-modded rats seem to lose. This is the side jack version.
Looking for a fuzz. Preferably one that retains low end and can do relatively lighter gain as well. A reverb might be nice as well. Feel free to offer anything else, as I may be down.
Hey! First time poster, longtime lurker haha! So I'm in the unique and novel situation of looking for a fuzz pedal: I know, it's shocking. I'm after something warm, thick, bass heavy and musically usable. I have a Walrus Kangra filter-fuzz (Kay clone with auto wah) that covers my need for splattery, nasty octave fuzz perfectly well, so I'm basically looking for something to cover the other end of the spectrum.
I've narrowed it down over a couple of weeks to the Catalinbread Giygas (https://catalinbread.com/products/giygas) and the JAM Red Muck Bass (https://www.jampedals.com/red-muck-bass/). They're both roughly speaking Muffs (Giygas is op-amp based I believe, Red Muck is Civil War-ish) with blend knobs and a couple of unique features (bit more EQ with the Giygas, boost with the Muck). The Muck is a little money more but there's not so much in it that it makes a big difference in choosing. So yeah, if anyone has / had / has tried both and has advice or opinions, it would be much appreciated! Or, obviously, if anyone has any additional suggestions that could work (that can be sourced relatively easily in the UK).
For reference I play a Fender Mustang, roundwounds, go through a DI pedal with cabsim emulating a Mesa Boogie and also use a KMA Logan as my main, usually on overdrive (set to about 60/40 dry/wet mix, relatively low gain, just to add some hair and act as a mid boost when needed). I play a bit of everything but am usually more on the heavy rock / metal side of things.
Cheers!
Over the past year and a half, I tried several big muff, fuzz face and tone bender style fuzzes but they all disappeared in the mix and didn't sound right even with a clean blend. They were either too muddy or too fizzy and brittle.
Then I tried a Vox super fuzz clone and a DOD carcosa and they both worked perfectly. They had a massive, but not muddy low end, good note articulation and stacked well with other pedals. What about their design makes them work so well, especially on bass? Which of these features should I look out for in other fuzz pedals?
(This is the list of pedals I tried before: EHX nano bass muff, Pigtronix disnortion, EQD Hoof Reaper, Way Huge swollen pickle, JPTR fx tesla wolf, custom triangle muff, custom green russian muff, custom fuzzface, custom tonebender mk2)
I'm a guitar player, and I run a fully digital rig, but my bass player is still 90% analog (we run him from a Sansamp BDDI to the mixer in addition to his onstage amp).
So my love of pedals has to live vicariously in my bassist's rig. We play covers, mostly pop and rock, but we have an entire Motown set too.
His current pedalboard:
Line 6 G30 Wireless
Boss TU2
Digitech Bass Synth Wah
Boss AW-3
EHX East River Drive
Sansamp BDDI v2
So, bass players of Reddit, what fuzz should I make for him? I'll be building from a PCB or kit, so the rarer the fuzz, the less likely I'll be able to clone it.
Thanks!
Some days I like to pretend Iβm Geezer Butler, and would like to find a fuzz pedal to help me get somewhat close to the sound he produces on songs such as Sweetleaf. Iβm a huge fan of Boss and have 4 of their pedals so far, would their FZ-5 help me out or is there a better option in your opinion?

I just recently started learning how to record and was wondering if anyone had tips on recording a heavily distorted or fuzz bass sound. Think stoner metal/rock or crust punk bands.
Soβ¦. Iβd like to get some thoughts on this pedal. I love the idea of it but I think a get a similar sound when I mix my MXR Bass Octave Deluxe with my Bass Big Muff. But I donβt actually know because I havenβt got to try it.
Iβd love to consolidate some room on my board.
Thanks!

Looking for a beefier/bassier fuzz to replace my Swollen Pickle on bass guitar. I've heard great things about the smallsound/bigsound Team Awesome and the Abominable Hail Satan Deluxe. Anyone here familiar with them?
