A list of puns related to "Fretfully"
THEY ARE AN INTERMEDIATE SKILL
I see a lot of new guitarists fretting (pun intended) over bar chords. Bar Chords are an intermediate skill.
Focus on your open chords, then scales, then worry about bar chords. Then move on to lead or specialize.
If anyone thinks I'm talking bull, I'd be happy to post a link to some of my work, but I assure you I am a very skilled guitarist.
We all hate buyer's remorse, and there are probably quite a few owners of the Katana line of amps who were either 'on the fence' about the new MkII line of amps, or who were somewhat bummed regarding their purchase prior to the release of the MkII.
In the case of the Katana Artist, which has no MkII model (yet) you might not have known what to think...like me!
Well, don't fret... pun intended ...because your "old" Katana just got a little bit better, thanks to MIDI System Exclusive and free open-source software...
I posted this as a comment elsewhere, but it deserves special discussion in its own right. There are a lot of people who are going to appreciate this information:
> You can enable all of the effects on the MkI Artist (or any other Katana) as long as you aren't using the official Tone Studio app. Using MIDI (or even just simple .TSL patch files) everything can be enabled at once, just like the MkII; it's just a matter of turning the effects on or off! Once you touch the panel knobs, however, all bets are kind of off. (I'm still testing to see what knob tweaks are possible with a "multi-effects" patch loaded, without it cancelling out some of the settings.)
> There's free open-source software for PC, Mac, Linux, and Android tablets (and phones) which do all of this. It's called Katana FxFloorBoard and it lays everything out like a pedal chain. Easy to use, and possibly more powerful than the Boss Tone Studio. (It's also likely that any decent SysEx Librarian program could do the same.)
> No reason to downgrade from the superior Artist speaker when the MkII functionality is kind of hiding there in the firmware waiting to be unlocked. I don't doubt that part of this enhanced functionality is to provide backwards compatibility between patches created on a MkII being loaded into a MkI series amp...the thing is, this can all be done right now, with your old amp!
> You'll also find that there are actually about 30 selectable amp models, some with an additional "bright" variation, as well as a number of "hidden" effects, such as the TE-2 Tera Echo, many of which are quite interesting. There's also a "Custom" amp and a "Custom" booster where you can adjust "character" and "edge" parameters available nowhere else... Check it out!
Top 10 John Mayer Fingerstyle Songs throughout the year (Paul Davids)
This post is mostly aimed for people who are not yet very adept at fingerpicking (and especially the JM way) and want to start getting more into the world of JM. I would not say that these songs would immediately make you a JM fan / connaisseur, however Iβm rather sure that should you start playing these songs and take a liking to it, you will naturally be interested into more of his music.
This post will be really long and I totally understand there are those who would rather have me go to the point. For you, I have a summary at the end of this post with a few key things that I have learned in my journey that I hope will aid you into your quest into Mayer. Everything that follows after this will be relevant to the detailed story of my adventure.
For some context, I am a self-taught guitarist who started playing in September 2017. However, the guitar has been my passion ever since and from the start I have put a ridiculous amount of time into my practice. I play every day, religiously. I would consider myself decent; at least decent enough to be in a band (which I have been since November last year). After around 3 months into guitar, I started to show interest in fingerpicking. Back then I became a huge fan of Daughter and especially Ben Howard, but Iβve always found his awkward tunings a huge letdown. Nevertheless, I did learn the basics and got to a reasonable level, but nothing close to decent. I was just able to play some songs I like.
Flashforward to march this year β I started doing well with the band and had a lot of fun, but I still felt like somethingβs missing. I hadnβt touched my acoustic guitar in a while even though I would always consider myself more of a singer-songwriter than the guitarist of a rock band. However, I did take my position in the band seriously and therefore aimed to broaden my musical knowledge. I discovered Paul Davids who tackles quite some interesting topics in his videos on theory. And then I stumbled upon it, the amazing βTop 10 John Mayer Fingerstyle songsβ. I got interested because I heard perfectly lonely on the radio quite recently which I really digged.
Now I was a complete noob to JM. I knew absolutely nothing of him (I had to shazam perfectly lonelyβ¦) except that heβs a great musician. I watched the video and maybe itβs also the super creative way that Paul put this video together or the
... keep reading on reddit β‘It seems like there are a lot more options for guitar players than bass players and we fret (pun intended) about our tone much, much more.
Guitar is a Washburn D10S, my pops bought it for me as a birthday gift back in 2003, for $100 from the clearance section of a closing Mars Music (anybody remember Mars?).
I've been playing guitar for 12 years now, but because I am a terrible person, maintenance and cleaning are foreign subjects to me, other than changing strings/intonating, and the occasional wipe down.
I was changing strings, and got a close look at my fretboard, and thought, "oh no, the wood is rotting!" I picked a little away and realized--uh oh, that's not wood. THAT'S DIRT.
I used Dunlop's lemon fretboard oil to clean the fretboard, along with some cheap dishwashing steel wool (don't worry, I was gentle). Worked like a charm, but took me about an hour to clean the fretboard.
Don't fret (pun unintended), I don't change the strings all at once normally. There was just no way I was going to get to all that grime doing one string at a time. There was also quite a bit of dirt by the bridge, and my fingers are too large to get under there with a cloth.
I got super lucky with this guitar. Action is comfortably low, intonation is damn near perfect, and she's always been buzz free and can get surprisingly loud. I've had friends ask me why I don't upgrade; I just have them play it for a few seconds and they understand. I met one dude once who spent 2 grand on a 60s gibson -- he was super jealous after playing mine. Oh well. I love my baby. I'll take better care of her from now on.
EDIT: Here are some pics of the entire guitar. And here's a video of me playing it, complete with mistakes and a terrible cowlick.
Star Wars tribute bands have members with punny nicknames like:
The only ones I can think of for The Expanse are:
Are there other possibilities?
Hey guys!
I'm currently working on a track and I need some layered electric guitars for it. I know what I want and have recorded a placeholder showing the rhythm.
As I'm not a guitarist, I'm not so good on the terminology, but I want three or so different positions on the chords as they're played. There are two different riffs with the same rhythm and different chords, and both will need the three layers.
The style I'm going for is a very processed pop style, akin to that of the guitars in Starships by Nicki Minaj. There's nothing to fret (pun) about when it comes to playing though, as it's mainly in production that the sound is achieved.
If anyone's interested, please reply/send a PM and I can give you more information. Thanks! :)
Thatβs the last time I leave my hostage near a computer long enough to send a cry for help.
or i need to buy another bass?
Five minutes of sarcasm.
Hey look everyone it's Bumblefuck the sexy zany Woodland creature that eats all my likes subscribes and patreon dollars. Good God Bumblefuck you're not looking so good. Really emaciated there. If you guys won't give me I mean him money he's going to die, and I am going to make you watch.
Hello and welcome to the Shoggoth Zone where I can't cover your small leftist project half the time because my toxicity has leaked into my video.
Title says it all
This is my first time posting here so I hope Iβm doing this rightπ¬ When I fret a note on my EBMM Cutlass, with even the tiniest pressure sideways the note goes flat. Itβs hard to explain but I mean that when fretting a note and kind of βpushingβ the string towards the bridge just a tiny amount, flattens the note drastically, and pulling towards nut sharpens. Especially higher up the neck. And by pushing and pulling I donβt mean REALLY applying pressure, just the normal amount my fretting hand produces when playing. What is going on?? Itβs driving me crazy, I tried this with other guitars and this doesnβt happen nearly as easily, meaning that serious pressure is needed for the same effect. This results in really out of tune playing and itβs killing me! I hope someone can grasp what I mean, any help appreciated as to how to address this situation!
BTC and crypto finds ways to liquidate leveraged markets and make people feel like terrible investors. But guess what? There is a solution as long as you hold coins with utility; just sit tight. If you want to sell at a loss and time the market hoping to buy back in... go ahead. Risky as hell if you ask me.
If you actually did hold BTC or ETH for a years ahead, this crash is not going to hurt you. Yes there are other people that you see just getting into the space and spending money on these low prices when you may have gone in and DCA your way all the way up to 50k but DONT compare yourself to other people. These are your investments and you did nothing wrong by buying this year.
Time in the market is so important. Think about all the people in 2017 and 2018 that bought the top and got stuck. Many sold the bottom never to buy back in when it was like $7k. They then watched it go to 60k after.
Be the guy with a story few years from now that makes people think you're wise and patient.
Tldr; you don't have to be the hero that buys all bottoms with neverending fiat ammo and amazing averages. You will likely be underwater badly at some point if you are new here. Nature of the space. You just need to be the best investor you can with what situation you are in
>There was no food, water or sleep for Susan Phalen as she spent a frigid night inside her car stopped on Interstate 95 in Virginia. Meera Rao and her husband were only 100 feet past an exit but were unable to move for 16 hours.
Consequences of car dependence, lack of comprehensive transportation planning or transit alternatives. People stranded overnight because of seasonal weather. This is not even that rare an occurrence here.
Edit: Sorry! I intended for the headline to contain the link and it doesn't. Here is the article.
It will be all good, it will work out and theyβll come back if there meant to and it serves your highest good. I know itβs hard, Iβve gone through so many rounds with a soul connection/twin flame. We dated then split for two years, connected again for a year and split a month ago and Iβve come to the realisation that this is actually a blessing for me and Iβm so happy about itβ¦
Why? Because itβs actually serving me. DM needs to heal, awaken and find his way and I have the utmost faith that heβs better to do that alone. So let them be.
I get to reconnect with myself, love myself even deeper, experience all I want and grow in ways I couldnβt with him, experience new people and places, learn about the capacity of my love and heart. Go and love yourself.
Remember that you have your own life, a life that is yours only and you can do anything you want in it. Donβt get caught waiting for your twinflame to message you, donβt get caught waiting for divine timing, just live your life.
Open your heart to other connections, learn from them and grow, invite new love mates to witness and experience you. You are the experience, not them or you both together, Itβs you. Believe me, if you donβt believe itβs you then find ways to deepen your love with yourself and remember that you are the main character. You are the main character.
Trust in divine timing to bring you back together if the universe wishes and serves your highest good but donβt fret for them or the relationship. You know the connection is real, they do as well and thatβs all that exists, your knowing and faith.
Take care, be with yourself now.
I suck!
It seems like the more complicated task of fretting would be a dominant hand task, while leaving strumming to our other paw. Why is it the other way around?
Any suggestions for how I can learn to play it the βnormalβ way?
