Moege: There is almost no common route/routes are decided by asking you something like "Who do you want to hang out with" instead of other kinds of choices
Eroge: A story centered game with some h-scenes in it
Galge: A romance centered game, mostly without h-scenes
Nukige: A hentai centered game, with elections that lead to variations on the h-cg's

Protags. That are pretty stoic, laid back, pragmatic, reserved, and emotionless.

So, first of all, if eroges/nukiges aren't allowed here, or are specifically talked about on another sub, I'd like to apologize (please do show me the right sub, if you don't mind).
Now, as I explained in the title, even tho I've been consuming manga and anime for about 4 years now, I'm as green as it gets when it comes to eroges, visual novels, etc etc etc, so I'd like some tips, such as:
--> Where do you search for specific eroges/visual novels? I use vndb, but was wondering if there are other good sites. Haven't found one as detailed and in-depth as vndn though.
--> Is there a MyAnimeList sorta site, but for visual novels/eroges? I haven't found one yet.
--> Where do you look for recommendations? Is posting in this sub fine, or are there specific forums for that?
--> How do people here feel about eroges/nukiges? I've played both "normal" visual novels and eroges, but honestly am a bit afraid people will think I'm weird as hell lmao.
--> Final question: I noticed that Steam is hosting a Golden Week event until May 6th, with a ton of discounts on Japanese games and Light Novels, and wanted to ask some advice on good eroges (or just visual novels) costing less than ~10β¬. I didn't see a topic on the megathread pertaining to that.

So I recently finished reading the remake of Tsui no Sora, and once again SCA-Ji impressed me with the sheer quality of his work.
Is there any novel or eroge that has had a significant impact on your standards when it comes to evaluating what you read (something that is so good that it made you realise that everything you had read so far was not really as good as you thought it was)?
In my case I think it would be Subahibi, as reading it was definitely a turning point in terms of the material I consume in the entertainment industry (I started to become much more interested in characterisation and delving into the psyche of the characters, as well as a philosophical background).
Hi there! I'm Cadu, a big fan of VNs and this is my first serious (and commercial) project. Spring's Court is a pseudo-eroge (while having explicit CGs in the uncensored version, the story isn't just about sex/fan-service). I'm the one doing everything for now (Sprites, CGs, Backgrounds, Programming) along with my friend Nick (Writting/Script).
We see the story through Will's eyes while he must invite someone to the magic spring's prom named Spring's Court. His best friend, Dillan, is the one whom dragged him to this. Now, Will must find the right girl to go with him! But... What are the true intentions of Dillan with this?
PROJECT PROGRESS
We're working hard writting the routes. We already have 2/4 routes done (Ruffia's and Eleanor's) and Luna's about 35%. A lot of CGs are done as so the sprites itself. We're planning in doing a 12+ version without the explicit sexual content. The songs, though, are the most complicated part since we have yet to hire a composer. But for now, this is the last thing we're planning to do.

Ruffia Sangrimir - A cheerfull and smart girl that wants to get the best job as a Magician. But be careful to not get caught by her cuteness and forget that she can explode you in a blink of an eye.

Steiner had tweeted about it earlier and having read through it myself, I want to discuss his 1st bullet point a bit, which has a very interesting take on the nature of eroge.
It is mostly about his jealousy and regrets about being limited by how eroge are made.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi i'm debating whether to go with Windows 8.1 or stay with Windows 7, and the main thing that concerns me about it is if the compability with eroge, especially older eroge is just as good as with windows 7, that is why i posted here, if its worse please specify some examples or why.
Right of the bat i have one request though: PLEASE DO NOT SUGGEST WINDOWS 10! Same for Linux Btw... (i am considering in the far away future, the posibility of linux plus a hardware accelerated/passthrough VM, but that is a story for another time when i'll actually have that much time to invest in such a huge change)
If your curious why i want nothing to do with windows 10:
-its because of some hardware incompatibilities (like my soundcard and a USB 3.0 expansion card).
-Incompatiblity with some things i use
-general issues and instability due to updates.
And for those curious why i want to install windows 8.1 despite some of its irregularities (like the bad design and focus on apps), its because of:
-full DX 11 features (some of the latest DX 11 instruction sets/updates are missing from windows 7, that's why some emulators like dolphin & PCSX2 don't work with the DX GPU plugin on 7)
-despite its bad design, performance wise and stability wise i do feel like its a step up from windows 7.

Hey guys I really like ero guro I have played visual novels like maggot baits sadistic blood those were really good and I want to find more so can you please suggest me because I don't know where to ask so please it's doesn't matter it's japanese or English I just want recommendations. Just names.
My memories are laughably vague, so please accept my apologies, and my gratitude for any help finding this title.
I recall a video preview, fairly confident it was posted here, probably within the last 3-6 months, and it was very dramatic, with dark, gothic portrayals of church and religion, well-produced animationsand CGs, with about 4 loli girls, maybe a bit chibi-esque, and definitely some lewd-ness involving the male protagonist. Couldn't say if it was strictly Japanese or English.
For what it's worth, I rolled through the past year of release previews in this sub and came up empty. Also searched through VNDB with relevant tags and upcoming releases. So I really did try!

I recently read Metamorphosis and it was sad, disturbing but also was one of the most interesting stories I have read and stuck with me after I read it for a little bit. I love reading Eroges and was wondering if thereβs anything like that story that is in the VN category that is worth checking out. I never actually played it so I'm really fuzzy on the details. So I believe there is only one heroine, or at least one main heroine. She's like homeless, or poor, or some shit. Basically the mc/you take her in and can either be really nice to her, or like super rapey. In other words the ending could either be super happy or like super dark. It was all how you raised her. It got popular enough that eventhough I wasn't in any groups related to vn, or shit like that I saw some memes from it. Also I think the main heroine had a light color hair like white/silver.
