Eosin Puns

This has been really confusing me.

Eosin is an acidic anionic dye

Hematoxylin is a basic cationic dye

Therefore positively charged molecules bind to eosin and negativly charged molecules bind to hematoxylin.

However, proteins are negativly charged and you would expect them to be stained with hematoxylin BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPEN, WHY? Why do proteins stain with eosin, a negatively charged dye, despite being negatively charged too?

I am tired. No matter how many pencils i buy, it keeeeeps on breaking. Its getting on my nerves. Does anybody know a good brand E&H that doesn't break easily? I think I've spent more on these pencils than food this month. Please help

I recently ordered a BJJ belt from Eosin Panther, they make high quality belts for all types of Martial arts since the 70's, some of the high level instructors in BJJ wear this brand ( like Marcelo Garcia) so I decided to go for it. I was very specific on my instructions to the costumer service team, and they did just as I asked. I went with the IBJJF standard for the black bar size ( between 4 and 4.5 inches) and I left 1 inch from the tip, since the BJJ belts are not suppose to be too long I did not want the bar or embroidery to be to high from the tip, so when you tie it you still can see it. I chose the smaller brand label ( they have a larger one also). I love the quality on the stitching and also the quality of the fabric, the attention to detail was on point. I sent them a picture of where I wanted the embroidery, color , how high, and also the measurements for black bar etc.. It came out just like I wanted it. My labs H&E stain currently uses Putt's eosin in our staining regimen. We QC a control slide every morning before we put our test slides on and while Monday - Wednesday the staining intensity of the eosin is great, by the time Thursday comes the eosin stains very pale pink!

I understand that if the pH of the Eosin increases then its ability to stain will be impaired so I would change the protocol to remove a water rinse before the eosin staining step. However, even after completely changing the eosin (from the same exact bottle used on the Monday), the intensity of the eosin is still very pale.

Any insights as to why this happens? Could it be due to oxidation of the eosin?

Hey guys Eosin here, some of you might remember me from team Zephyr a few years ago, after that I've kind of dropped off the map. I've recently been casting though and have been streaming to improve as a player as well as better my speaking. I've been climbing the great NA ranked from various roles but mostly support. The Alienware Arena Dota 2 NA Winter Invitational is winding down with the last two teams looking to grab first place and $1000 along with it.

Both teams are regulars of the North American Dota scene and have played in numerous leagues and tournaments including SECS, GosuCup Americas, the Gamecom Plantronics Holiday Tournament, CEVO, MLG Gamebattles and many more.

Eosin + 4 and My Intent are two of the strongest teams in the NA scene, despite that, this is a rare match-up which should feature some interesting strategies and great game play.

I know that an acid donates a H proton and a base OH accepts protons, but my knowledge really stops there. Please describe in laymans terms. Google has been no help at all.

I had a killerbee belt which I loved, just recently tried the ctrl industries deluxe belt but was a bit disappointed (somewhere in between a regular cheap belt and the killerbee). I would like to try something new and came across the Eosin panther belts. They are very pricey though, curious how they compare to killer bee belts and if anyone has any comments on the different options (width, standard vs soft, cotton vs satin)?

Hi everyone. After almost 8 years of struggling as a white belt I was finally promoted to blue. This was a big deal for me, as I'm sure you understand. I have two Gis so I needed a second blue belt and I decided to treat myself and buy a belt made by Eosin Panther. I see these often come up in the BJJ subreddit as "the best" belt you can buy. I figured that I would be wearing this belt for a long, LONG time so I got one. I had some custom embroidery done to the belt as well.

I am extremely happy with:

1. The belt construction
2. Stiffness
3. Weight
4. How it ties (it actually stays tied too)
5. The color is super rich
6. The embroidery looks great
7. Customer service was top notch.

...and it's a million times better than my Fuji and Manto belts.
