Hey, I listened to Hal Elrod on a podcast and I wanted to read a book of his. The issue is that it appears that heβs written the same book a few times. Is there a stand out or 2 that I can read while safely ignoring the rest?
Thanks
I mean, it's a weird complement to tell someone that they're so amazing they're even worthy of being numbered with... the guy who brought death and ruin to literally everyone he ever loved. You too could kill your best friend and cause the fall of one of the greatest remaining Noldor kingdoms. Um? Thanks, Elrond?
How many of us consistently apply what we read from Self Help Books.? On the flip side, what would happen if we apply one key idea consistently for say just the next 30 days. So in this post, I present a book summary and a challenge for next 30 days. If you decide to take the challenge, do drop a comment.
Learnings
What are the S.A.V.E.R.S ?
1. Silence is the first practice. It can be meditation, reflecting, prayer, deep breathing, or expressing Gratitude. You can choose to alternate between each.
One Simple Meditation Technique is as follows: -
2. Affirmation is a positive statement to self, designed to condition your subconscious mind. Affirmation should reflect what you want rather than what you donβt want.
I am sure you have heard, read, seen enough about benefits of rising early and accomplish much more than we can imagine. And if you are thinking βI am not Morning Personβ Please ask yourself, who told you that? Itβs You. And you have the power to convince yourself otherwise.
The miracle morning is one of the best books I have read after βThe 5 A.M Clubβ of Robin Sharma. Read this one, apply what you read and reap the benefits of waking up with determination & purpose. You may consider taking β30 days challengeβ Hal presents in the book.
Hal suggests that no matter what level of life we are at, whether one is extremely successful, nailing at all aspect or struggling to advance in life, one thing is common among all is βour desire to improve our lifeβ. The Miracle morning offers wonderful way for consistent growth.
Few π Points β
β’ Hal poses an amazing question βwhy did you wake up this morning? Is it because you must or is it because you want to?β The difference between these two choices tells a lot about our life.
β’ Know that wherever you are in your life right now is both temporary, and exactly where you are supposed to be. You have arrived at this moment to learn what you must learn, so you can become the person you need to be, to create the life you truly want.
β’ Forget waking up at 5 A.M. if thatβs too much. Start with 15 minutes earlier than your usual time and pick one thing. It could be anything, quick exercise, journaling, meditation, visualization, reading 2 to 3 pages of good book.
β’ When you delay waking up until you must, meaning you wait until the last possible moment to get out of bed and start your day. Consider that what youβre doing is resisting your life.
β’ There is no better day than today for us to give up who weβve been for who we can become and upgrade the life weβve been living for the one we really want.
Few π Quotes β
To create the levels of personal, professional, and financial success you desire, you must first dedicate time each day to becoming the person you need to be.
Everything happens for a reason, but it is our responsibility to choose the most empowering reasons for the circumstances of our lives.
CHANGE begins with accepting total responsibility for every aspect of our life and refusing to blame anyone else.
No matter what your past has been, you can change your future, by changing the present.
To make profound changes in your life, you need either inspiration or desperation. β Anthony
Hi, BettermentBookClub community.
This article will explain what βThe Miracle Morningβ by Hal Elrod has brought to my life. As probably you, I'm always searching for systems that help me accomplish the things I want to do.
One of the answers is to develop intentional routines.
When you read about people who do outstanding achievement now or in history or discuss with someone who looks fulfill, you often find behind a set of productive habits. And the same goes for people who have issues; you often see a collection of bad habits.
>"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." Will Durant
And what is an intentional routine?
A set of good habits put intentionally.
I've started to become familiar with the concept when I first read "the 7 habits of effective people".
But I started to implement it with the easy blueprint of "The Miracle Morning" by Hal Elrod.
So the question is, "Why implementing a routine? "
As with investment, the compound effect is magic. It's the same for your habits. Whatever you do regularly will bring you progress and results. Consistency is the best friend of anyone who wants to do something. And guess what? We all want.
We often see in children a burst of energy, joy. Sometimes too much when you're a parent π.
Part of it comes from their youngness, the other from their routines.
Most children go to bed at a particular time (usually early) and wake up all the same hours.
But have you noticed? When you break their routines, children become tired and more nervous. Do that often, and you'll suffer as a parent.π
As an adult, rebuilding an intentional routine bring more regularity. And often you get undirect effects. You sleep better, eat healthier, and you move more. As you're less tired, you make more helpful choices in your daily life. And again, small improvements every day have a tremendous compound in the long term.

So how in the world did this not click with me? Seriously what went wrong in my silly excuse for a brain that caused that information to slip by me? I just found out about half an hour ago from those EW interviews and I was astounded. It is currently 11:00 p.m where I live and I can't let it go. Somebody please help me.
In this book Hal talks about 6 habits he says will transform your life before 8am. The Miracle Morning uses the pneumonic SAVERS which includes silence, affirmations, visualisation, exercise, reading and scribing
This book has ten chapters and it starts with Halβs background and how he came up with this idea, then talks about why it is so important, before moving into more detail on each of the SAVERS.
This book is short and fairly easy to read. None of the ideas in this book are new and Hal admits that he learnt about all of these ideas from reading other peopleβs books, all he has done here is combine them together into a more marketable package, which doesnβt seem that impressive in a way. However, I had been planning to try journaling and affirmations for ages and the way he put them together in a catchy package made me do them, so perhaps there is some genius there.
After reading this book, I did the Miracle Morning 30 day Transformation Challenge, and I have enjoyed having more structure to my morning routine and getting so much done before I even start work in the mornings.
I like the concept of the book. However, I think it could be better written so while I would recommend The Miracle Morning to people, I donβt feel like you have to read the book, a quick Google could probably give you all the information you need to start.
