I keep a running list of all of the rulers from Jon's CK2 series, with regnal dates, length of reign, cause of death, etc. I was looking over it, and something that really struck me was the difference in leader life expectancy.
Not counting Emperor Ohdear 'the Great,' whose reign never actually ended on screen, the average Cornish Count/Duke/King/Queen/Emperor/Basileus ruled for about 22.4 years. The longest reign was the poorly named Emperor Catastrophe, who ruled for 39 years, and the shortest was Petty King Conan III, whose reign only lasted for 5 years.
Though the current run has only seen four complete reigns, the average is significantly higher, with the mean sitting at around 36.5 years. A little over 14 years longer. (about 10 years if you factor in Basileus Ioseph “the Strong, who wasn't dead when I originally wrote this post). The longest so far is Despot Perun 'the Wise,' clocking in at 47 years, a full 8 years longer than Emperor Catastrophe. The shortest at time of writing is High Chief Leon, sitting at 29 years, only a decade less than the longest serving Cornish ruler.
About 150 years or so have passed this campaign. 150 years into Cornish history, Emperor Catastrophe, the 8th ruler of Cornwall, was almost 30 years into his reign.
Interestingly, both Duke Cadoc II and High Chief Leon 'the Just,' the first leaders of each campaign, died of Great Pox.
EDIT: Well, Basileus Ioseph the Strong's reign turned out to be not so strong, bringing the mean down by a full 5 years.
