A list of puns related to "Donkey Kong Country"
When this game was first announced at E3 2013, I initially didnβt pay it much mind. It was a sequel to a game that I didnβt play when it came out, and it looked like an HD revamp of the last game, which I thought similarly of Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 when they were revealed in the same Direct. Now I wasnβt angry or even disappointed like how a certain subset of Metroid fans were when they realized Retro Studiosβs next big game was another Donkey Kong Country, but it just kinda slipped under my radar for a few years.
Fast forward to the Switch era and after I played Mario Odyssey, I got a newfound love for platformers that test my skill as well as deliver high quality experiences at the same time. I then looked back to some Wii U games I missed out on that could elicit similar feelings. Two of those games were 3D World and, of course, Tropical Freeze. I picked up a Nintendo Selects Wii U copy for $20 bucks and had an absolute blast. The gorgeous HD visuals, the buttery smooth controls, the Uncharted-style setpieces that actually made use of the hardware, the expressive characters and enemies, and that magnificent soundtrack by original composer David Wise, I love it all. I just wish Diddy got some more use, cuz heβs pretty much obsolete with Dixie being here.
I didnβt get far into 3D World and figured it would get ported to Switch eventually, but I was less sure about Tropical Freezeβs chances. That game was so catered to the core platforming audience that it would feel right at home on the Switch, plus it didnβt make any use of the GamePad anyway, so why not? Around the time I 100%ed the game on Wii U, I noticed that content creators like Mark Brown and The Geek Critique were giving the game some well deserved critical analysis.
When the Switch port was finally announced almost four years ago, I was ecstatic and preordered it the same day. I did two Any% playthroughs of the Switch version: one in Original Mode and one in Funky Mode. Speaking of which, Funky Kong is a blast to play as, going beyond a typical easy mode without sacrificing the gameβs integrity in my eyes. Heβs less of an βeasy modeβ an more of an alternate gameplay style in an of itself, giving the player a few extra tools without neutering the core experience. Itβs a joy to speedrun through a level with him and I actually decided to try some of the time tr

Characters made by Rare such as Dixie, Funky and K. Rool are now owned by Nintendo, yet they are barely used in Mario spin-offs.
Only Diddy makes regular appearances in Mario spin-offs, yet he missed the boat for Mario Kart 8, Mario Golf: Super Rush and now Mario Party Superstars.
This popped into my head after spending the last few hours watching YouTube documentaries about 90s game consoles, and kind of studying their strengths/weaknesses
How much better could a game like DKC have looked if it was written for the AES hardware vs SNES? What aspects of the game could've been really highlighted to standout on much better hardware?
The only normal looking one was Squirt aside from that one all of the other ones looked creepy. It looks they gave almost all of them bloodshot eyes they honestly shouldβve visited an eye doctor. And donβt even got started on Bleak the Snowman with that creepy laugh of his. I wasnβt born when that game was released but holy crap I wouldβve been spooked by those.
This one I did almost all with the MF! The bass, the weird chords in the beginning, the flute type sounds, almost all of it is the Microfreak. So I thought I'd post it here in this sub. Hope you guys like it! Donkey Kong Country is known for its great music and DKC2 is definitely top tier VGM. I hope I have done the great David Wise justice with my cover. Thanks for checking it out, I really appreciate any comments and likes!

I am attempting to Romhack Donkey Kong Country 3 and my first goal is to remove the 103% cutscene. I am new to Romhacking but have been watching obscure YouTube videos etc. I have made some progress in understanding but no progress in my goal. Anyone know how to do this?
Personally, I absolutely love the game. I think the music, level design, visuals, gameplay and atmosphere are all very wonderful. I have great memories with the game, I think the motion controls are utilized well, and the gameplay and movement feels very smooth and satisfying. How do you guys feel about the game IYO?
