A list of puns related to "Dogville"
How brutally unwatchable, left me feeling manipulated and deeply unsettled.
10/10
Hi, I' m looking for some films like Dogville and the sequel, or like Midsommar, something really strange but intresting. (Sorry for my bad english)
Although the main role is performed by Nicole Kidman, few people have heard of this movie (at least from my surrounding). If youβre a drama-lover who is more concerned with a movieβs plot and message rather than scenery, this film is for you. With its simple decorations to imitate a small town, Dogville made me feel like I was watching a play in a theatre rather than a film (see images on Google to understand what Iβm talking about). The heartbreaking tragedy depicted in this work, together with the incredible acting of Kidman will impress you.
This was some kind of cd-rom game from the 90s. I want to say it was point and click but there might have been more mobility on. I don't exactly recall. The premise of the game starts off with the player being a dog 'incarcerated' in some kind of jail or pound. You have to first get out of your cell then figure out how to escape. Or at least that's what my fuzzy memory recalls. I was a child at the time when I used to watch my uncle play the game. Unfortunately, I can't ask him about it.
I feel like the game had the player solving puzzles in a way similar to the Myst games. And the only other detail that I remember is that there may have been a reference to 'Dogville' or 'Dogtown' but searching for those terms hasn't really helped me to figure the mystery out. This one has been bugging me for ages. Any takers?
Just looking for opinions. BTW, if you havenβt seen it, the trailer does not do it justice in any way.
I can't find anything online about similar movies to Dogville. I absolutely loved both the art, and the philosophical subject. The cloesest things that come to mind are Synechdoche New York (Other Kaufman stuff too) or Stalkey Parable tbh.
I'd really love something similar.
This movie has been on my radar for a long time, but I still haven't watched it because of the length of the movie and the fact that it apparently is more like a play. I have also heard very mixed responses to this movie and apparently Quentin Tarantino said it might have the best screenplay for a movie ever made. This does make me curious if the movie is worth watching. How did you feel about the movie?
I absolutely loved it, blew me away. I love philosophical type movies, about what being human is all about. Also love everything Charlie Kaufman ever did (especially Synechdoche).
But for Dogville I can find no suggestions.
Ironically it reminds me very much of the Stanley Parable/Portal. As it seems to be a parable of itself
Where is the geographical location of Dogville in Sirius the Jaeger?
I've been analyzing the movie for an exam and I need suggestions so I can elaborate on the many topics that the director addresses such as violence, Thanatos, human nature, hospitality, capitalism/ USA society. Would you help me, please?
