A list of puns related to "Destroying Angel"
One thing I've always found interesting is that in both Season 7 of Buffy and Season 4 of Angel, you have both groups dealing with an apocalyptic event in the same year. Buffy and the Scoobies are dealing with The First Evil, while Angel and his group are dealing with The Beast and Jasmine. Two powerful forces trying to bring about their different world domination plans at the same time. And It just sort of makes you wonder if these threats are aware of each other and what would happen to one of their plans if the other were to succeed.
Where my theory comes to play not only factors into that but in Jasmine's beliefs. She wants to bring peace, it doesn't matter that the peace is fake, it strips people of their free will, or how she'll kill whoever gets in the way in order to obtain it. Her goal is to have the whole world peacefully united under her rule. Therefore evil, especially the original source of evil plays no role or purpose in her plan and would only be a threat to her paradise. Plus as a Power That Be, she definitely would have to have been aware of The First and it's plan (Isn't there a theory that the powers were behind the snowstorm in Amends, which prevented Angel from successfully killing himself like The First wanted). Jasmine frequently talks about rectifying the evils of the world and there is none greater than The First Evil. Maybe part of Jasmine's plan involved destroying The First and it's forces (given she was a former power, she might be the only one to have the capabilities to do so) But she focused on getting the entire world under her thrall first since that would make her truly unstoppable.
So what do you think? Am I just talking crazy or do you think it's possible Jasmine had another unmentioned goal which could've linked the happenings in LA back to what was going on in Sunnydale. If this was the case would it improve S7/S4 for you or made it worse? Discuss in the comments but be civil.
