A list of puns related to "Cybercrime"
Is he a scammer? Why would online scammers show their face?
I think I've finally decided on the career path I want to begin specializing in after finishing my degree in business in 2020. I want to know if anyone here works or is knowledgeable about these two fields and could let me know what's it's like. I used my google-fu but didn't find much information on how to get started or what the field is like, I understand it's fairly niche. I did look at becoming a general data analyst or a cyber security analyst and I'm down to upskill and venture that path if it's one of the ways to move into these career fields. Aside from a degree in business and finance, I have no specific qualifications but re-skilling with a postgraudate degree, diploma or certificate is not something I'm afraid of since I'm still pretty young at 24. So if you can give a little bit of insight into these fields then please comment :)
So I plan to, during my degree, to take on cybercrime as a module, and I was wondering how well-equipped is the CPS in dealing with cases of cybercrime, and what the supply/demand situation is like for solicitors and barristers who specialise in this field of law?
I was invited by a friend in an online investment platform identifying as Shopee pero upon checking, napansin ko na it was just a front for a large scale pyramid scheme.
Investment starts at Php 500 (VIP1) up to Php 5,000,000 (VIP10)
The platform allows you to do "tasks" for order-grabbing and you get a commission every time you complete them.
However, yung pinakang nagtrigger ng hinala ko is yung income per day (around 6.5~8% ROI per day for below 500k investments, and 20% for above). You also need invites to upgrade VIP levels.
I saw a similar scheme early 2020, and ang mode of pay-in/payout nila rin is thru cryptocurrency (USD Tether via TRC20 address if familar kayo sa crypto).
I still joined the pyramid scheme para makakuha ng info regarding their operation with the hope of finding out the ring leaders discreetly. Ayaw ko rin nun na magcause ng panic kaya di ko na ininsist na scam yung pinasukan nila dahil napakarami nang sumali mula sa bayan namin, even our mayor.
After joining a few days, I managed to get the cellphone number of their accounting admin (in Telegram), and their TRC20 deposit and payout addresses (since public naman ito). I was hoping that those addresses are linked to Binance's KYC so that the persons behind this scheme can be identified.
I have reported anonymously to NBI's ACG 2 weeks ago (Nov. 22) all my gathered information dahil kelangang law enforcement agent ka to request the identity of the owners of those TRC20 wallet addresses (if may data ang Binance). However, nagreply sila na I must report this personally kaya medyo tinamad ako back then.
Ngayon, the platform raised the minimum investment amount bago ka makapag withdraw ng pera, from 500 pesos dati, ngayon ay 10000 na. I'm now very alarmed dahil nagpapasok pa rin ng pera yung mga kabababayan ko that's why I'm contemplating if I should go and report this personally para maprocess. Napakabagal kasi ng aksyon ng ACG.
If I only had the time and resources, I would have sorted this out my self because once this collapses, it will bring a bad light to crypto.
Are there risks if I go personally? Should I go?
I'll also read everyone's advice below. Thanks in advance.

One of the most "profound" interviews I have seen on Monero talk. Try to listen to it fully (1 hour discussion) and timestamps provided for you to navigate.
Everything explained clearly:
Credentials of the interviewee: https://www.tudelft.nl/tbm/over-de-faculteit/afdelingen/multi-actor-systems/people/assistant-professors/rs-rolf-van-wegberg
Start from @1:20:47 and listen to it for a few minutes. You should naturally be inclined to watch the whole video.

Cheers!
Edit: A big SHOUT OUT to @Douglas_Touman to do an awesome interview with the right questions!

I thought this was a great basic look at how new technologies will impact cyber security in the near future. Most of the data is from Palo Alto, not the Bangkok Post.
