How large does building has to be so the curvature of the earth has to be considered in its design?
I know that for small things like a house we can just consider the earth flat and it is all good. But how the curvature of the earth influences bigger things like stadiums, roads and so on?

Why do physicists continue to treat gravity as a fundamental force when we know it's not a true force but rather the result of the curvature of space-time?
It seems that trying to unify gravity and incorporate it in The Standard Model will be impossible since it's not a true force and doesn't need a force carrying particle like a graviton or something. There is no rush to figure out what particle is responsible for water staying in the bucket when I spin it around. What am I missing?
Edit: Guys and gals thanks for all the great answers and the interest on this question. I'm glad there are people out there a lot smarter than I am working on this!

So, gravity is the curvature of space-time, but also one of the four fundamental forces, how?
Hello, so I got hit by this question today, and I would really like to understand this. If we see gravity as described by Einstein, do we still see it as a force? I might also not have a very clear understanding of relativity because I just know what I've read in books and on the internet.
Sorry if the question seems stupid for some, I'm still in high school, I'm 17, and very curious when it comes to physics. I know that these concepts may be too complicated for me but if someone could briefly explain what I asked, I would be extremely grateful. Thanks :3

What are some examples of how we must compensate for the curvature of the earth in everyday human activity? I.e. calculations or measurements for construction, launching satellites, or any other common process?
Got a friend who has hinted at being open to the idea of the earth being flat. Iβm trying to preemptively bolster some counter arguments with something real and relatable like, βif the earth wasnβt round weβd have no satellite tv, or we wouldnβt have to compensate for it in building railroadsβ(not sure if those are true, just tying to get my point across), etc.
Thank you!!

Spent some time toying around with desmos, to make it draw a circle which has the same radius of curvature as the function f in the point x and which touches the point(x,f(x)). you can change f. use a to slide the circle accross the function. Hope you appreciate ^^.

How do planes account for the curvature of the earth?
I once saw a flat-earther say "if the Earth was round, planes would have to dip their nose down or else the plane would fly into space." Now usually i could find scientific conclusions to some of these things flat earthers say, but i've been stumped on this one. I would think that if it does nothing then the world really might be flat but I know it's not. I might be overthinking this but please, i'd like an answer to this. Thanks!

Cc = - 0.07849.D^2 meter. This is curvature of the earth error. Mathematical proof the earth is round.
When you measure distances on earth, instruments take level measurements. If you take a measurement on a basketball with a flat ruler you can see that it's hard to do, particularly with elevations. As the ruler measurements get farther, the more it moves away from the basketball. Your elevations need a little shaved off for every bit of distance you take (hence the negative sign). These numbers are different for feet but it's the same idea.
The same is true for earth. If you do not account for this error, your elevation measurements are off and you'll have all sorts of problems. I'm a civil engineering student and have taken 3 surveying courses. This is common knowledge for anyone who's job involves surveying, GIS or map-making.
I'm also saying this because I was watching live Snooker on YouTube for the China Open qualifiers and some wingnut in the chat was going on and on about flat earth so I told him how I actually took surveying courses and unless we accounted for curvature and refraction errors, our measurements would be wrong. He just ignored me and kept recommending some YouTube videos.
Anyway so I thought I'd pass along if you ever encounter one of these flat earth people in the wild, tell them about the curvature of the earth error and how every large structure they've ever been in takes it into account. You will likely be ignored but to me that essentially proves they are not interested in mathematical facts, only narrative.
Sorry if this has been posted 45 times before.
