A list of puns related to "Cte"
There wasn't a spate of really bad head injuries, they weren't shamed into acting by an outraged public... they found out that bonks on your head are worse than anyone thought and they did what you'd expect: hired independent experts, formed committees, worked with players unions, then instituted new laws, guidelines, penalties, and a GOLBAL education programme to back it up.
If the NFL were to ever do similarly, it's hard to see them coming back with anything more comprehensive....
As someone who's played both sports, it really makes me wonder why this is beyond the realm of the NFL or fundamentally incompatible with the nature of American Football.
From the press release back in 2016:
###Global education programme
World Rugby will support this initiative with a global awareness and education programme aimed at:
From 3 January, two new categories of dangerous tackles will carry penalty offences to deter and eradicate high tackles:
###Reckless tackle A player is deemed to have made reckless contact during a tackle or attempted tackle or during other phases of the game if in making contact, the player knew or should have known that there was a risk of making contact with the head of an opponent, but did so anyway. This sanction applies even if the tackle starts below the line of the shoulders. This type of contact also applies to grabbing and rolling or twisting around the head/neck area even if the contact starts below the line of the shoulders.
Minimum sanction: Yellow card.
Maximum sanction: Red card
###Accidental tackle When making contact with another player during a tackle or attempted tackle or during other phases of the game, if a player makes accidental contact with an opponent's head, either directly or where
... keep reading on reddit β‘I was a huge football fan but have lost interest due to the research and info we now have about extreme trauma to the brain. Hard to watch and sad to see young players with such life changing brain injuries.
Mineβs Ready to Let Go
Maybe if your ex-NFL player ex husband says he does not trust himself around his kids you should accept that and believe him? We got ex-NFL players literally commiting mass shootings and murdering people now.
Also - you're really saying you don't even have a car yourself? Gtfoh, you can't put down $450 a month to lease an Acura RDX. C'mon man.
Anyone else get super bummed out whenever Arian looses his train of thought and says something like "damn the CTE is kicking in"? Usually jokes are funny because there's truth in it but...idk...the possible amount of truth in that joke makes me sad.
I read an article about the nfl and ctes and it also brought up hockey which I thought was odd since there isnβt really ever any head to head besides punches being thrown. And while Iβm very new to watching hockey I only see a few fights here and there nothing like a real boxer or anything.
I often use CTEs in my SQL scripts that need to be executed across multiple steps. What would an elegant way to handle data transformation operations in Python/Pandas that require multiple steps? Is it simply just defining a bunch of functions and executing them in order?
If it's other, comment!

How are they so good and acclaimed yet still so underrated??
Former NFL player accused of murdering 6 people then killing himself had severe CTE according to autopsy of the brain. "The degenerative disease known as CTE is linked to head trauma and concussions that has been shown to cause a range of symptoms, including violent mood swings and memory loss. "
The family found an odd comfort knowing that CTE was to blame: "Even in the midst of crushing heartbreak, we are finding some comfort in the CTE results and the explanation they provide for the irrational behaviors pertaining to this tragedy."
Sam frequently brings up the Texas Tower shooter who had a brain tumor, which may have explained the cause of the killings, as a very visual illustration of how we have no free will. This story of the football player reminded me of that.
I found it interesting the family found comfort in the CTE finding. In a way, when I give in to the idea that there is no free will, after some initial despair, I also do get an odd sense of comfort.
I know American Football isn't the only sport with concussions and head injuries but the former players affected by it seem to do more dangerous things as compared to former Boxing , Soccer , Ice Hockey Players , is there a reason for it ? If CTE is harmful then why's the Super bowl and NFL still popular and why are players playing Football in millions ? Will the NFL decline in popularity due to it ?
CTE has been in the news alot over the last few years. There are several high profile football players who exhibited erratic and impulsive behavior only to find out after they've passed they had holes in their brain (Aaron Hernandez, Junior Seau, Vincent Jackson and it goes on). Some are saying the outburst by Anonio Brown this weekend is likely due to CTE...In looking at pictures of healthy brains vs ones w CTE via Google the differences are so stark it seems like something you should be able to diagnose when they are alive. So what gives?
