A list of puns related to "Crêpe Suzette"
I've wanted to make crêpes suzette for a while now because I really like crêpes and oranges, however every recipe I see says it requires grand Marnier. I don't really want to spend 50 bucks on some expensive French liqueur that I'll probably only use once in a blue moon. Is grand Marnier necessary for crêpes suzette, or is there anything i can substitute for it that isn't so pricey? I have some cheap white cooking wine in the fridge, would that be an ok substitute? (forgive me if that's a silly question I don't know anything about alcohol). I'm not aiming for the most authentic recipe or anything, I just want a nice tasty end result and I'm not sure how much the alcohol affects the flavour given that it's flambèed off.

Recipe (kind of. I tried my best with the info provided in the video, but a few things are from recipes on the BA website which I will link at the end and most of the sauce is... a guess.)

This is a deep cut. The vanilla beans that are dried out in this video are the ones that Claire got out in It's Alive Sourdoughnuts Part 1. It's the same bag. I love BA too much.
Every so often my mother gets it in her head that the family is becoming too distant and requests that her kids (and their kids) come out to her lake house and spend the weekend with her and my step-father. I generally don't care for this, it's usually 48 hours of shame, but I also don't want written out of the will so I go to these things. So does my sister, the Cheesecake Factory.
This weekend my mom decided that each kid (my sister, step-brother, and myself) should each individually prepare a meal over the three days we'd be together. This threw up instant red flags for me because my step-brother's idea of high cuisine is almost always overcooked steak and my sister only cooked when Applebees was closed.
My step-brother cooked Friday night; a shockingly good beef stew. It was largely uneventful.
I cooked Saturday. Cooking is a passion, but because my step-brother and sister have young children I didn't want to go for anything too crazy so I went with a roasted pork loin with pan sauce, mashed potatoes, and sauteed asparagus. Easy, unobjectionable food. My sister had objections.
When the Cheesecake Factory saw what I was making she asked me if I'd brought any ranch dressing for the vegetables. I told her that I hadn't, but I noticed that she had brought a bottle. She became upset because we each individually purchased the ingredients for each meal and she wasn't going to use her ranch on my food. I told her that I'd prefer it that way too. After demands that I go buy a bottle for her, I asked her to taste the food first, and if there was a problem I'd do my best to fix it.
The meal is finally served. Everyone seemed well enough. My step-brother is amazed that instead of using the instant flakes you can actually just mash real potatoes. Mom isn't shaming us. Kids are quiet. The Cheesecake Factory is making a show of her kid not eating the asparagus.
"Why are you trying to starve us, VodkaBarf? You knew you were cooking for everyone and you knew that we needed ranch. You can't force us all into your weird diet."
"Have you actually tried the food?"
"I don't need to try it! It doesn't have ranch! How could we eat it?!"
At that moment her kid slurped up a piece of asparagus like it was spaghetti and seemed to actually enjoy it. She proceeded to eat the rest of it normally. I commented on this. That was not okay.
"I'm her mother and I know what she likes! You've pressured her into eating this disgusting food!"
I also noticed that the Che
