Neurotrophic and anti-neuroinflammatory constituents from the aerial parts of Coriandrum sativum
>In the course of our continuing search for biologically active compounds from medicinal sources, we investigated the MeOH extract of the aerial parts of Coriandrum sativum Linn. An extended phytochemical investigation of the aerial parts of C. sativum led to the isolation and identification of seven compounds (1β7) including two new isocoumarin glycosides (1β2) and a new phenolic glycoside (5). The chemical structures of the new compounds (1, 2, and 5) were elucidated by analysis of 1D and 2D NMR ( 1 H and 13C NMR, COSY, HSQC, and HMBC) and HRESIMS data as well as by using chemical methods. All the isolates were evaluated not only for their potential neurotrophic activity by means of induction of nerve growth factor (NGF) in C6 glioma cells but also for production of nitric oxide (NO) levels in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-activated murine microglia BV-2 cells to assess their anti-neuroinflammatory activity. Compounds 1β3 and 7 were stimulants of NGF release, with levels of NGF stimulated at 127.23 Β± 1.89%, 128.22 Β± 5.45%, 121.23 Β± 6.66%, and 120.94 Β± 3.97%, respectively. Furthermore, the aglycones of 1 and 2 (1a and 2a) showed more potent NGF secretion activity and antineuroinflammatory effect than did their glycosides (1a : 130.81 Β± 5.45% and 2a : 134.44 Β± 5.45%)

I see in my country it's sold in a local supermarket, 20g for 0.77β¬. I see other source selling 1kg raw for 18β¬. Could someone estimate the raw dosage to replicate the amount used in the study?
>The aerial parts of C. sativum (3.0 kg) were extracted with 80% aqueous MeOH three times at room temperature and filtered. The filtrate was evaporated under vacuum to obtain a MeOH extract (253 g), which was suspended in deionized water (2.4 L) and successively partitioned with hexane, CHCl3, EtOAc, and BuOH, yielding 21, 3, 2, and 18 g of residues, respectively. The EtOAc-soluble layer (2 g) was chromatographed on an RP-C18 silica gel column chromatography (30% aqueous MeOH) to yield twelve fractions (A β L). Fraction C (160 mg) was subjected over a silica gel column, eluting with solvent system CHCl3-MeOH-H2O (5 : 1 : 0.1 β 1 : 1 : 0.1) to give five subfractions (C1 β C5). Subfraction C3 (29 mg) was separated by a Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography (100% MeOH) and further purified by semiprepar

I havent tested any of the following alternatives efficacy, aswell i cant tell you if one of them work or are safe to take.
They might work through a different mechanism but can lead to a similar result.
Some of them do the opposite, those i have included for a potential downregulation or just because they act on the same receptor system.
I will try to edit the list with any new find.

I'm not particular about the scents but I want to get the formula as close as I can! I want something that's a solid that will absorb onto wet skin without totally melting.
Coco Loco ingredients:
Minamisoma ingredients:
Any ideas on proportions/ratios? I can probably find the main ingredients like cocoa butter/coconut oil/sunflower wax/essential oils no problem, but would the other things be totally necessary, do you think?
I have a poster of common herbs in my kitchen. I just realised that a lot of the latin names would be pretty awesome for someone (and some might be a little out there). Obligatory sorry for formatting. Mobile user π€·ββοΈ.
Ocimum basilicum (basil).
Nasturtium officinale (water cress).
Melissa officinalis (lemon balm).
Anethum A. Graveolens (dill).
Artemisia dranunculus (terragon).
Coriandrum sativum (cilantro).
Anthriscus cerefolium (chervil).
Levisticum officinale (lovage).
Mentha spicata (Moroccan mint).
Origanum majarana (marjoram).
Petroselinum crispum (parsley).
Allium schoenoprasum (chive).
Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary).
Salvia officinalis (sage).
Tropaeolum majus (nasturtium).
Thymus vulgaris (thyme).
Rumex sanguineus (wood dock).
Oxalis vulcanicola (sorrel).
Pisum sativum (pea shoots).
I feel a lot of the names could easily be used, for instance Artemisia, Levisticum, Mentha, Majarana, Allium, Rosmarinus, Salvia, Thymus, Oxalis. I especially like Rosmarinus as a male counterpart to Rosemary.
My overall favourite of the bunch is Oxalis vulcanicola, although it would be a bit much for a baby. It just has an awesome rhythm.
Of the English names, I feel that Sorrel, Marjoram and Thyme might work, aside from the ones that are actually in use already.

I have transitioned from VX engineering into biochemistry. Monday, I intend to use an 8 m cubed chamber of recycled structurally sound cellulose, lined with aluminum, to induce a low temperature infusion of hydrocarbons into a biological sample of Odocoileus virginianus. I have been preparing my sample with acetic acid (derived from Malus domestica) and sodium chloride, and it has also spent the appropriate amount of time in temperatures below 0C, before the experiment. It is also of note that the oil of Coriandrum sativum, has noted antibacterial properties in the presence of positive pressure airflow. South Africa has been a world leader in this research. The samples will be purified by UV light and an influx of ozone prior to human sampling, fyi.
Hello! So I was wondering if anyone has used these two products. They have descriptive similarities (snail extract in their product description, claim they help with wrinkles, from the same brand, and are overnight masks), but I imagine the experience and results are different. So if anyone has had used both or one of them, feel free to tell your skin type and results. Thank you!

First is Vietnamese cilantro/coriander (the scientific name is Persicaria odorata) which is similar, with a taste near cilantro but ranging from slightly peppery-lemony-minty flavor - beware, this may have a strong flavor. Some people advise using half the amount of the required normal cilantro (Coriandrum sativum) when substituting Vietnamese cilantro in. The stuff you get might not be nearly as strong, so taste it first.
Now the second one can still taste like shit to many people here, but it can also taste like what normal cilantro is to normal people for those who cannot fathom eating normal cilantro. Mexican Cilantro. I already hear people saying "Cilantro IS mexican!", but you would be wrong. The hated cilantro is from anywhere around the Mediterranean Sea, and was transported east and north over time. Mexican cilantro is a different species (Eryngium foetidum) and goes by many names such as Culantro (note the U instead of the I), Sawtooth cilantro/coriander, and Long cilantro/coriander. It is generally considered to be stronger than normal cilantro too, but can vary in strength so you should taste yours beforehand.
Hello,
I've got a question regarding this body lotion - it's from a European brand Mixa called Panthenol Comfort but also named in some countries as Mixa Atopiance. It's marketed for dry and atopy prone skin for both babies and adults. It costs around 6$ for 400ml. Now, my skin is normal leaning to oily but dehydrated a good bit, handles actives really well and I get maybe a couple pimples in a month, so not overly problematic.
I'm currently in the market for a nice rich (preferably cheap) moisturizer for my PM routine and I bought this one based on the ingredients and the price, primarily for my month old big leg tattoo but it seems to me there shouldn't be any issues using it on my face as well. I put it on last night after cleansing and a HA face mist and this morning my face felt nice and nourished, no breakouts or whiteheads.
So my question is, what do you think about its ingredients? Do you think it could be harmful to consistently use it in on my face in the PM routine? Here's the ingredients list:

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
Pilot on me!!

Nothing, he was gladiator.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?

So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
When I got home, they were still there.
I won't be doing that today!
