A list of puns related to "Bacopa"
Here's my personal experience with Bacopa.
I took Bacopa with these goals in mind: 1) increased memory 2) increased focus
Synapsa Experience
Took for the past 3 months. Tried ND and Doctor's Best.
Bacognize Experience
Took for the past 1 week. Tried ND.
My Opinion
You never know what's right for you until you try it out yourself. When you do some online reserach (google, reddit, ND blog, and youtubers like Your Inception/TheNootropicReviewer, etc,), you will notice that Synapsa is often described as more 'stimulating' and less 'fatiguing', as if it's a better alternative to Bacognize which will give you more 'fatigue' and less of 'cognitive' benefits. However, my experience has been EXACTLY OPPOSITE.
My desire to check out Bacognize came after reading ND's blog on Bacopa. While they mentioned Synapsa is 1:25 extract, nothing about Bacognize was mentioned. I got curious about Bacognize extract ratio because I once had an aweful side effects with 1:8 Lion's Mane but close to none with 1:1 Lion's Mane extract so I developed this theory in mind that sometimes higher extracts will overburden our body especially for sensitive people like me. So I called Vendure Sciences, asked about the ratio, and learned its about 1:10~15 extract. This made me think Bacognize might actually work for me! And guess what - not only did it work for me without side effects but also it gave me other benefits like mood support, stronger memory/cognitive benefits, and motivation to complete tasks.
I know my experience will be different from others, but in this online community with a general theme of Synapsa > Bacognize, I wanted to share my 2 cents.
I accidentally ordered the Synapsa Bacopa Monnieri Whole Plant Extract Powder instead of the capsules and now Iβm wondering if I can mix the powder into water to ingest it or if I have to add the powder to capsules?
Any advice would be appreciated

I've been taking Bacopa Monnieri 800 mg + Gotu Kola 800 mg since 5th Nov and have been keeping track with brainlabs to see if I register improvement to my memory. I used to have really good working memory up to my late 20s, but for the past 7-8 years my ability to hold information in the moment has been declining. As a result I struggle to plan, brainstorm or do deep dives into complex ideas. So the goal was to improve working memory.
But as you can see from the charts https://imgur.com/a/xstWyW6 - as much as my general score (c-score) has gone up, mainly because my reasoning has improved tremendously, the memory score on average looks about the same (the occasional high points happened on days when tests in rotation did not contain pure memory testing). My verbal score received a modest improvement.
I feel a slight improvement to my recall, but no real gains in working memory. Because the herbs calm me down, my thoughts are not gallponing frantically, so it's easier to focus and see patterns in things or figure them out. I don't feel a huge change to motivation or other areas of life, but I do feel I need to sleep more to feel rested.
I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet, but I've been really hoping for better results. Any comments or advice?
Side note: where I live synthetic nootropics are off limits.
Hello all. Back in May I took about 50mg of Fasoracetam, 300mg Alpha GPC and 300mg Bacopa Monieri two days in a row - hoping it would help with burnout.
This somehow triggered intensive Derealisation and some days after twitches started. Derealisation got a little better after about two month, but stuck ever since. Muscle twitching still occurs 24/7, 8 Month later.
I am researching ever since what could have caused it to maybe reverse it somehow.
I checked my minerals and electrolytes, went to see two neurologists (which both diagnosed me with BFS (benign fasciculation syndrome).
My guesses go to upregulated NMDA / Glutamate receptors or something wrong with Cholinesterase.
Does anyone have an idea what to try out? Living like this is hell. I am really not an expert in this and thus seek your help.
Kind Regards
Merry Christmas and happy new year!
How do you cycle these? I think I understand three months on, but how long off? I saw someone say 1 week off?
I also don't remember where I read this or saw it, but I saw that bacopa becomes Neurotoxic over time, so I don't want to hurt myself.
Also, I'm starting to notice it now since I doubled my dose and damn I'm really feeling the anhedonia; it's like a midday slump that lasts all day. I'd rather not screw about with more supplements but is green tea ok for this, or maybe I should halve the dose to normal.
I have not felt any lions mane effects, but I'm a moron that took two new supplements at the same time.
Thanks

" It is also generally recommended to take Bacopa monnieri with a meal, and preferably with a fat source since bacosides are fat soluble and require a lipid transporter to be absorbed. Historically, bacopa monnieri was often consumed with ghee or some other animal fat to help with absorption. "
Seems to be a false statement according to MYASD.
Bioavailability is also generally dictated by LogP value and molecular mass, not solubility. Would be great if u/MisterYouAreSoDumb can correct the ND site and maybe shed some light on how bioavailability works for Bacopa if it has any quirks like vit d (that needs slowed intestinal motility to absorb in the area of the gut where it absorbs better, which food helps with) or CoQ10 which needs to be dissolved in a solvent (not fat even though its fat soluble) to bring its logP down, etc.
Possibly a stupid question but is there a risk of tolerance or adverse effects from taking the above long-term without cessation?
I get a lot of benefits from both of these for stress reduction and cognition, but was wondering how sustainable this is going forward?
I'm on Diazepam (10mgx2) a day for GAD and C-PTSD and i wonder if bacopa monneri will decrease the effect of the Diazepam or if will it increase the effects of the Diazepam? I'm unsure if i should take my (potent) Bacopa Monneri Extract supplement while on my Diazepam medication.
Does anyone know how it works? or have a little knowledge how this supplement interact with Benzodiazepines.
All i know is that Bacopa Monneri is used for Benzodiazepines tapering and withdrawal but i have no clue or can't find any information about what happen if you combine the two.
I got180 capsules of Bacopa Monneri Extract 350mg(50% Bascosides) but too afraid to take it because i need to know how it interact with my Diazepam/Valium
I appreciate any response :)
Thanks!
I'm currently taking
I've been taking Bacopa for over an year and Gingko for over a month. Just started the rest two last 15 days back. I started feeling much better than before - calmness, less brain fog, less irritability, less migraines, less sadness.
Am I on a slippery slope?
Hi,
I heard bacopa does some strange effects on peoples metabolism, so I'm just wondering if I can safely stack bacopa, lions mane and caffeine and that bacopa doesn't null the effect of the others or vice versa.
Also, I'm curious if anyone here has any experience with bacopa and lions mane combined; it seems most only have done one or the other :(
thanks
Anyone else takes bacopa powder? I'm about 2/3 of the way done. At first it was awful but now i want to throw up when drinking that shit. Sometimes i gag even thinking about it. Any suggestions that don't involve pills?
Hi folks, how do you compare these three? Which is the best for anxiety, focus, mood and general well being?
Thanks!
I've had a swollen lymphnode under my jaw for 3 months now. I have been through multiple rounds of antibiotics and steroids. They would help a little but not much. I recently did a CBC (Complete Blood Count). My white blood cells were almost out of range and my lymphocytes we're at 3.5.
I'm currently waiting for an ultrasound to be scheduled and not currently taking anything for it other than an antihistamine which is doing nothing.
But Everytime I take bacopa the swelling reliably goes down in about 4 hours after consumption. What could be the cause of this? Is it safe for me to continue?
My instinct says I probably should since it's helping the swelling to a considerable degree, but I just want to make sure I'm not doing extra damage.
I know this sub is going to tell me to consult my doctor but highly doubt my doctor could give a more informed answer than this sub.
Pretty much the question above.
I have diagnosed ADHD. It wasn't very bad till I was 25. But retention has done wonders and currently I am taking Brahmi. Brahmi is an ayurvedic term for the plant named after Brahma. In ayurveda it is said that it helps increase consciousness. My one week experience with brahmi is that I am aware. Which was similar experience when I had 70 day streak going on. Currently on day 20 and doing wonders to me.
Do the herb 'Bacopa monnieri' bind to GABA- receptors? Does it "increase" gaba levels? And do bacopa monnieri potentiate benzodiazepines or other GABAergic drugs?
Thanks
I use lyrica once a month and sometimes a few times a month. Sometimes the following day I feel ok and sometimes not so good. I know bacopa ,they say takes times to build up. I did notice that I'll take the bacopa and I feel a lot better for the couple uncomfortable days that come afterwards. My brain is on point more with the bacopa and when the crash comes. Just using this once in a while can make the following 3 to 5 days not so good for me. I was wondering what helps also? I use THC in small amounts only at the end of the day here and there? I could only imagine what it's like to be on this daily and have to come off it. They keep telling me take this everyday for RLS and nerve pain. I just came off gabapentin before summer and it wasn't fun at all. Anything else that is known to help I would appreciate it!
Hi folks, here's my stack for an otherwise healthy, early 20s male looking to get a slight edge in motivation and memory for school:
500 mg L-tyrosine fasted, early morning
320 mg BM Synapsa 2-3 hours before bed
5g citrulline malate as a preworkout for the gym
I'd like to fit fish oil (EPA + DHA) and creatine in here somewhere, probably with my midday meal. As you can tell, this stack is modest since I'm not looking for anything crazy anyways. Any feedback would be appreciated!
Anyone who takes bacopa for energy and mood?? Your experience? Any side effects?
Hi folks, how do you compare these? It seems to me that they are somewhat similar.
Which is the best for anxiety, focus, mood and general well being?
Thanks!
