A list of puns related to "Conservatoire"
I know there's probably not alot but any recommendations would be amazing.
Feel kind of nervous posting this here (also not sure if it’s the appropriate place for this; apologies) but has anyone heard back from Royal Conservatoire of Scotland regarding their graduate acting program? It’s getting close to the end of April and schools will soon be expecting confirmations of intention to study. I know RSC is pretty prestigious so there are likely tons of applicants and I’m sure the pandemic has brought new challenges to the application review process. It doesn’t help that it’s my number one choice so I’m naturally extremely eager to hear back. One concern I have is that I made some sort of error in the application (I’m not from the UK and some of the terms regarding education qualifications seemed very unique to the British system) and that this has delayed or irreparably hindered the processing of my application. Has anyone heard back from RSC? I feel like if my application were stellar or if there were an interest in me as a candidate I’d probably have heard back but the only thing I know for certain is that I know nothing.
Hi there. I have applied to these three unis to study the Bachelor of Music program. I am struggling to decide on which one to go to next year. I want to hear opinions on where its best to study music. My thoughts are that Napier ranks 1st in the course and it is in one of my favourite cities, Edinburgh. Aberdeen is the only Scottish city I have not been to, but the music course is ranked 2nd and the university itself is one of the top rankings and finally, the Royal Conservatoire is more focused on Drama/dance and Musical theatre and it happens to be near family in Glasgow. If you were to choose, which one would you go for. I would appreciate any feedback.
Hi guys - I am interested in your thoughts about the relative merits of sticking with a good teacher with whom the student has a good relationship and attendance at a junior conservatoire weekend programme. The Junior Programmes offer what seems like a really good opportunity to play in groups, to sing in a choir, to receive training on musicality and to make friends with peers who share their passion for music, but it means giving up their existing instrumental music teachers.
My instinct for the moment is probably to keep him with his current teachers as he really likes them and they seem to be getting great results, and perhaps look at things again when the auditions come around again in Spring 2022 (for admission in September 2022). The counter-argument is that because of the rate of his progress, perhaps waiting until Sep 22 is too long. Obviously I wouldn't encourage him to audition without discussing it with his teachers first and seeking their advice (they all studied at conservatoires - not sure whether at this young age), but because I am not a musician myself I don't have a good understanding of what these junior programmes are really like.
Im' a 16yo cellist teenager and i'll start the conservatoire in a weeks in virtual classes (in Argentina is stil the quarantine). And i'm looking for some tips and advices I started reading "Concise Introduction to Tonal Harmony" by Straus and Burstrin. And after that maybe read "twentieth century harmony" by Persichetti. I'd appreciate it if you tell me if I'm on the right track.
I’m applying for a conservatoire and UCAS ask for an academic referee and a practical referee. This is where it gets a bit difficult. I’m applying for an undergraduate course to continue studying what I’m doing at the moment as a back up if I don’t get in this year. So one of my lecturers will be writing my reference for that. I’m taking weekly acting classes at the school I want to apply to. I’m sure I could ask one of my other lecturers to do an academic reference for me. But for a practical reference, I’m really not sure as it states that it should be from someone such as a music, dance? Drama or art teacher/tutor. I’m really not sure if I can even ask my tutor for my acting course to write me a reference for the same school as he’s also on the panel for auditions. Apart from this, I don’t have any other acting experience since high school which was a long time ago now. Has anyone experienced this before? If so, what did you do?
