Anaheim Ducks
The Anaheim Ducks have a pretty obvious need for a solid top-6 center after trading away Ryan Kesler in the summer of 2014.
They acquired Devante Smith-Pelly in a trade with the Vancouver Canucks, but Smith-Pelly has yet to really find his footing on the Anaheim blue line this season. There are several reasons for this, but most notably because Smith-Pelly is a fourth line center, and Anaheim uses more than one fourth line center on most nights.
I do agree with the sentiment that Anaheim could use a solid, veteran presence down the middle, and I think the following names would be intriguing for the Ducks as free agent options for the 2015 offseason.
I don't pretend to know much about each of these guys, but I'm pretty confident that a little research will be enough to let you know if they'd be interesting fits in Anaheim.
I won't pretend to understand the salary cap rules, and I'm not necessarily going to take anything at face value on my suggestions. The cap is complex, and there are a lot of moving parts when it comes to signing free agents to contracts.
The goal here is simply to help make an educated guess about what the Ducks could do if they were to spend the $6 million available to sign any of the free agents listed above. I also don't claim to have any inside information that those players would be a good fit in Anaheim, so this is just a thought exercise on how that might look if the Ducks were to spend the cap.
I guess the best way to do it would be to break it down by a year, so let's start with what the Ducks could do in 2015 and what the cap would allow them to do.
The Ducks signed free agent defenseman James Wisniewski to a $5 million contract last offseason. It looks like Anaheim is willing to part ways with Wisniewski for a lower number to avoid any potential cap issues

How do you give seniors "care" in their home when they're so poor in retirement they can no longer afford to live there? Keeping seniors in their homes if they choose that, Joe? How many will have a choice? There's a major shortage of low income senior housing, what are you going to do about that?
How can you help a parent pay for expanded child care for pre-schoolers when there are no good paying jobs? How does that work if the only jobs parents can find are working odd hours with irregular schedules and days off? Is Joe planning to make that pre-school child care available to the poor on a 24/7 basis?
More affordable health insurance? No.
All the emphasis is on getting more people back to work. Increasing GDP, getting people back to work NOW.
Let's not kid ourselves, this is an agenda written by corporation sponsored consultants and lobbyists.

Still using his family tragedies to gain sympathy from voters, many of whom will suffer terribly from the cruel, brutal neoliberal policies. They'll suffer for generations to come. All really vague on his policies and the few details he's offering reflect programs that are way off target and totally inadequate for what we need. Also the usual tax credit BS for low income families.
Also noting Biden isn't taking questions. His campaign thus far is underwhelming. Joe was never a good campaigner to begin with, but he's even worse now.
Democrats need to go back to the drawing board and find a better candidate if they want to win. They're running on a "lesser evil" messaging campaign with an incredibly weak and out-of-touch policy platform. Certainly not enough to inspire people to turn out to vote.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
