Greetings comrades! I just wanted to ask what you hope your future jobs will be in the eventual communist state! Pick wisely because you’ll never get to change it. Personally i hope to be a turnip farmer working the same piece of land forever! I hope there’s a guard to keep me in my place (not that id ever want to leave). Forced agricultural labor in the glorious name of the state sounds like an excellent use of my time. What will your jobs be?
I don't want to talk about whether or not it would be a good thing, but focus on how likely it is to happen. It would be great if you could support your position with evidence and proof. And note that this is the kind of utopia that idealists describe, not an authoritarian system akin to what we have seen arise in the 20th century.
My family came from a communist dictatorship and this is something I wonder a lot. We all know communism breeds dictatorship… it takes tyranny to take everyone’s property away and redistribute the wealth. Marx really believed the government would just go away after redistributing the wealth but what tyrant ever wants to give up their power?
But I can’t help but wonder how many of the dictators just wanted power and communism is the perfect way. If you seize all the means of production and nationalize all business, no one else can ever gain wealth on their own and threaten your power. If you’re worried about people overthrowing you, easy, you control the food supply chains. Just cut off food to that region. It’s hard for people to overthrow the government when they are starving and just worried about surviving another day.
I know there’s no way to know for sure how many communist dictators actually believed in Marx vs how many just wanted power, but I thought it could be an interesting discussion.
Hi! So I'm a teenage writer, who is also a baby communist, and in my novel I want to create a society that is an accurate representation of communism. One of the reasons why is because I don't like the current representation of communism and I want to change that.
A little background information of my novel: It is YA, sci-fi, fantasy novel that is about another galaxy far away that has a planet and a high tech species inhabiting it. I would love some tips on what a actual communist society would look like and how I can incorporate the evils of capitalism in here as well. Other advice is also welcome.
Side Note: I did not include that much of my novel idea because of idea theft so just try your best with recommendations and advice.
