I didn't even see any at the local big box stores. Any local places I just don't know about?
First time posting on this forum. Excuse my ignorance.
I'm a novice when it comes to concrete. I have used it a few times (Built a 24' x 16' deck with 16 concrete piers - that was fun - and some other stuff) and I'm interested in knowing if concrete, or preferably aircrete, can be used to build a chimenea style fireplace for our outdoor space?
I built a pool are with a small deck using a stock tank and I want to heat it up during the fall/winter. I'm thinking of adding a chimenea to the outdoor space and using a copper coil inside the fireplace and tubing/hoses to heat and recirculate the pool water.
I want to build a mid century modern type of chimenea (Link posted) and thought concrete would be a good material to use.
So the question is, how much heat will concrete take before it cracks and has anyone here built a a concrete firepit before? Any recommendations?

Looking for a local (not HD), inexpensive (around $100), classic clay style. Yes I’ve called around and Yelp isn’t that useful. Trying to stay within an hour driving. SA and Houston have plenty of spots. Place out in helotes of Mexican pottery for like $50 seems the best but…there’s gotta be something close on the outskirts of town.
Has anyone had any luck finding any type of wood burning stand for the backyard or patio NMIC?
