Hi - I am planning a trip biking south from Montreal to NYC in the May and looking for information on the Champlain Valley Trail. I can find information on the Erie section (which I won't be doing) and the Empire State section (South of Albany) but info on the section between Montreal and Albany is harder to come by. Has anyone thru biked this section or parts of it? Any resources or anecdotes are welcome.
Are there any spots along Lake Champlain where the width is between 4 and 6 miles? I did a lot of swimming last summer and I'd like to train to swim across it. Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

You all have seen some of my recent ties, but likely do not know: I've been building my own fly rods and tying my own stuff for over 40 years. I started out with trout and bass weight gear, both fly and spinning, but I've built 10 musky weight fly rods over the last 5 years, for myself and others, and I have opinions about what works!
Out of the gate, I'm offering an array of predator-sized flies, plus kit or custom builds of Epic Fastglassยฎ, Mudhole MHX, and Epic Carbon Fiber fly rods in both 10 and 12 weight. I can make any build unique with custom cork work or a variety of decorative wraps. I will add in some lighter rods at some point (I have the blanks in stock), but I wanted to hit the ground with a pretty narrow focus on chasing big musky and pike.
