Bryophytes growing on some brick pavers but not others - what do you suppose is in those pavers that promotes / inhibits growth of the bryophytes on the north side of my double-wide in Davis, northern California, pretty moist year this year. It looks like the pavers have some kind of sand mixed in.

Might be a difference in the sand. One of the sand lots must have had some nutrients.

Miscellaneous unidentified tropical bryophytes; mostly liverworts. Some are possibly from the family Lophocoleaceae. There are some seriously micro, threadlike species mixed in there if you look closely. Lots of stuff like this in my rare plant grow bins. #tropicalbryophytes FTW.
