Screw it, I think this post has to be made.

This year's application cycle was a bloodbath. Just one look at the numbers will tell you that. Nearly every top college had its acceptance rate halved. Schools are closing waitlists left and right, accepting fewer kids and more. Mix that with COVID, a virtual senior year, almost no outside support - and you get the perfect mix of stress, exhaustion and a deep-seated bitterness.

People on this sub are getting all riled up because the class of 2025 is complaining, but we have arguably every right to complain. We got a shitty end of the stick. Now the class of 2024 and 2026 are struggling as well, but I'm not trying to win the pity Olympics here. The truth is that our grade pushed through a lot and found pretty abysmal results. And yes, I know that nobody is "guaranteed" a college anywhere, and that nothing can "ensure" you get into X school - but when you see 15 percent acceptance rates fall to below 7.5%, its a struggle to keep pushing forward.

Our grade got screwed over by covid, by test-optional, by the gap-years, by the financial issues, and god damn the list just keeps going. And I understand, I understand why the class of 2024 took gap years, I understand why schools went optional. But it still freaking hurts. It hurts because the class of 2024 did take seats away from the class of 2025 (there's no disputing the fact that many schools either accepted fewer kids to account for the gap year students or are closing their waitlists to account for the over enrollment that happened due to gap years). It hurts that I tried so damn hard on the act to get a good score - only for those hours to not be worth anything. It hurts because a lot of us did everything right but as an entire class, we still got screwed over.

So the very least everybody on this subreddit can do is stfu and let us grieve. Let us grieve over our dreams and over what we lost. Let us complain and then let us heal. We all know that "in 10 years this won't matter", but guess what? It matters right now and because it matters right now, it matters. We all know that its silly of us to complain about not getting into dream schools when there's a pandemic going on. We know. We understand. But that doesn't make the pain hurt any less. I also think that if you are not a member of the class of 2025, you should stay out of the discussion on posts like this unless its a cheering up comment like "congrats on wherever you're committed to OP!" These are desperate hedge funds trading their stocks back and forth for a lower and lower price, driving the price down. The price drop means absolutely nothing AS LONG AS EVERYONE IS HOLDING, this will explode!

The shirts tried their damndest to drive down the share prices of both $GME and $AMC today. Specifically look at $AMC. With all that volume traded you’d expect a shitload more movement. What they got was resistance You could see them continuing the ladder attack after hours when YOU can’t trade. On BOTH stocks.

The way forward is to tell them to go fuck themselves and BUY that shit up tomorrow. Let them keep punting the football back and forth to one another all day. If they can double down and play the long game SO can we.

It's no coincidence Elon just sent out a tweet telling people to "be careful" about how they invest in cryptocurrency.

This coming weekend is going to be an absolute bloodbath for a lot of people waiting to see what he says about a certain dog related coin, but get this, everything is already planned.

I'm convinced Elon is going to absolutely shit on the hype train so that the rest of the top coins can extract wealth from the massive dump. He sent the tweet earlier to cover his ass from regulators looking for market manipulation.

And not just that. I'm also convinced SNL (and extended investors) themselves are Dumping massive amounts of money to keep the price afloat until the airing to pull in more viewership. Does anyone really think people putting in $30-100 amounts is going to cause BILLIONS in value of transactions daily? Rivaling the second and third most popular (by market cap) coins?

I might just have my tin foil hat on a bit too tight but I'm expecting an absolute shitshow sometime just before, or during the airing of the newest SNL.

Don't forget Elon has more than a billion invested in BTC publicly, and there's almost $90 billion in market cap to extract into other coins if this comes to fruition.

Hi guys, I’m relatively novice (8 months of investing). I lost around 20% of my entire portfolio value in the past 1.5 weeks, and I’m getting seriously nervous if that keeps going on.

I know the rule: don’t invest what you are not willing to lose, but considering that my portfolio is made of solid stocks and ETF (AAPL, MSFT, TSM, NERD, VWRA and ARKK) I know it will rebound at some point.

But I have no idea how many more red days are we going to see, and how to deal with this psychologically, as it’s super stressful now.

I wanna preface this by giving my condolences for the deaths of all the wallets of multi fans this coming June.

It's always known in the kpop community nd the industry too that from the 2nd quarter the actual heat will start with releases. After year end award show attending nd performing, many groups take a break for one or two months. They get refreshed nd come in the second quarter.

But this year seems to be a blood bath especially. U don't have normal groups but all the big hitters of 3rd gen having a comeback this month.

I know for a fact that there r a majority of multis who ult all these groups. I pray for them tbh. Even though not all but still there r even more number of multis who ult either a couple of these groups. I pray for u guys for next month.

Also, we only talked about these groups, but who knows kingdom groups may make a comeback after the end of the show riding high on that hype. Stray kids, Btob, SF9 , the boyz?.

Who knows what more is to come. I'm happy for all this overwhelming content coz since the start of the year till April end didn't have any good comebacks for me. So hoping for some awesome music going ahead.

Its a bloodbath. We are still up from where we started Friday. Keep the faith, carry on, stake and drink a beer, a soda, mineral water, wine, scotch, whiskey, or whatever and be happy. As someone that’s really bad at fast gameplay but really good at timings, cube, and ship, I think Leyak is barely harder than Bloodbath, I also think Bloodbath is only barely harder than Thanatophobia

I am a young investor, been investing since Summer 2020. I would say this was the first major market correction for my positions. It has been a tough month, but this sub helped me keep my calm. There were numerous occasions, where I was sure I should close my positions, but the excessive amount of posts here on "Sell high, buy low" topic kept me going.

I know the correction might not be over, I just went up 7% and wanted to share my appreciation to the people of this sub. These days, it is super easy to be baited by the madness on wall street bets. But it is good enough that we have this community, where we can invest safely and wisely instead of gambling.
