A list of puns related to "Animal Euthanasia"
They can live in the wild without harm this way, no?
Thoughts on euthanizing animals? They have no consent to die and it seems like the argument of "who are we to judge who lives or dies" sits very high up on the pro-vegan argument ladder. (not an anti-vegan, just curious) If these arguments are true, then we are not in the moral position to judge whether or not to euthanize an animal? It is, after all, killing one.
Not many people must have spayed and neutered their pets in 2020, because this has been the worst kitten season I have ever known. All the foster organizations I know of are swamped, and LA Animal Services are euthanizing so many kittens.
Here's how you can help! First, please spay and neuter your pet. LA Animal Services offers vouchers to fix your own personal pet: https://www.laanimalservices.com/general-information/spay-neuter/ If you don't qualify, or need an alternative option, SNPLA also offers low-cost spay and neutering services: https://snpla.org/
You can also help out by getting your local feral cat population spayed and neutered. You can TNR (trap neuter release) with many organizations in the area. Here are some:
You can also become a kitten foster! Every kitten you can foster will be one less kitten that LA Animal Services will euthanize. There are many organizations to foster with, but here is a short list I know of:
If you or someone you know has found kittens, please do not take them to LA Animal Services. They will almost certainly be put down. Please research on how to care for the kittens yourself, it's not really that difficult. Then ask to foster for one of the above organizations, and they will help you with veterinary care for the kittens, and later adopt them out.
If you know of other relevant organizations, please feel free to post them below. If we all do our part, hopefully 2022 will be a less tragic year for the kittens of Los Angeles.
rip baby boy I miss you and love you
"Euthanasia" is when your eldery auntie asks to be put down because she cannot deal with your bullshit.
If you kill geckos to check if they still stick to walls dead, no euphemism will mask the fact that you are a psycho.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Really interested to know if it is all small animal clinics in general? Or just my clinic, but we were open for 4 hours today and had 5 euthanasiaβs, which is extraordinary for my clinic. We rarely have that many scheduled in a full day. (Open half days on Saturday) Iβm curious to know if anyone has else noticed this phenomenon and what they think about it.
and other issue is she wants to foster and save every animal she can possibly violating the(our) lease by switching out animals on the lease sheet since she started the job. Cries almost every other night she does a euthanasia, and its changed our relationship 100%.
I want to help but I don't know the industry, I'll be honest I don't show compassion towards animals as much as she does or people in her industry. I work in final expense insurance so I talk about people dying on a regular basis. It was tough at first so I understand but its the job you sign up for.
I was always taught the old "Hey its your job, toughen up or find another one that will work." "It's what you signed up for". Old school way.
tldr: gf attitude changed drastically became a big ball of tears I don't know what to do with because she has to do euthanasia's. Tried to help but its every other night. Relationship failing. Not sure what to do.
Bear with me a minute, this IS about pets.

I was just reading this Newsweek article about the recent Federal executions. According to the article, the executioners used Pentobarbital and there seems to be a dispute as to how whether or not this was a painless procedure, with government officials being accused of a sanitized report, and other witnesses claiming great distress on the part of the prisoner.
Since Pentobarbital is used for pets, it makes me question whether or not this is truly a humane death for pets.
It is said that pentobarbital quickly shuts down the heart and brainstem. But the brain itself can survive several minutes without oxygen--is the pet is conscious while slowly suffocating?
Also, I came across this quote, please note the use of the word perception--perception of a peaceful death, but not actually peaceful.
"Pentobarbital (Nembutal) is a short-acting barbiturate sedative-hypnotic that is widely used in veterinary practice for anaesthesia and euthanasia. It is also recommended as a drug for euthanasia or assisted suicide due to its rapid onset of coma and perception of a peaceful death."

There was a post in subreddit about bestiality. People were mad about it, unsurprisingly. However, I noticed most of them kept repeating the same pattern of argument : that animals can't consent to sexual acts done by humans.
Understandably, I know that animals can't consent to sexual acts by humans. It is a common sense that violating consent of living beings is morally wrong. Fair enough. There's nothing with that argument at all.
As I think about it deeper (or not so deep) , I began to question the morality of euthanizing sick animals and slaughtering livestock. To me, both of the cases can't be morally accepted using the consent as determiner. Even though there are so much benefit from eating meat and ending suffering of sick animals, it doesn't mean anything because animal can't consent.
To humans, they might think ending their pet life is what the pet might want but it could be possible that the pet still want to live and doesn't consent to dying. So, the pet owner that want to euthanize his pet is just the same as people who practise bestiality, as both aren't consented by the animals.
What do you think of this?
Sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker.
I see a lot of people complain about there being too many animals in shelters. Iβm a huge animal lover and I want all animals to have loving homes BUT realistically speaking thatβs impossible. I feel like the only way to fix the problem is to get rid of most of the stray population in a humane way. It sounds cruel but a lot of animals end up rotting in shelters or being put down anyways. I know this comes with risks of lost pets being put down but thatβs why you should microchip your animals... this way the overpopulation of strays goes down and the number of adoptions and potential good candidates for rehabilitation and finding good homes goes up.
If a dog has chronic issues, it is common to end their suffering. Why is this not the same for humans? If someone has severe mental issues to the point that theyβre not even sentient, would it be wrong to end their suffering as well?
Hi all, unfortunately one of my little ratties is deteriorating healthwise pretty rapidly, and I think it's time to say goodbye and let her rest... I'm newish to the area and know that some vets don't give anesthetics to small animals such as rats before administering the euthanasia medicine which is a more painful process for rats, and I obviously want to avoid that but am trying to avoid having to call around and ask that question over and over as it's obviously a little upsetting right now. I'm hoping for a place that will let me come inside as I would rather not hand her off from the curbside... Any suggestions would be great, thanks so much.
Edit: thanks for the suggestions. In case this information helps anyone else, I ended up taking her to the tanasbourne emergency veterinary clinic, they were very kind and compassionate. Wait time was very short because they prioritize euthanasia cases, they made an exception to their covid policies and let me inside the whole time, the process didn't feel rushed, and they were very humane about the actual process and made sure it was pain free and as not distressing as possible for her.
