Cumin may well be the oldest and most widespread spice used by humans. Ancient Greeks kept cumin in it's own container on the table at all times. although integral to modern Mexican cuisine, it was introduced there by the Portuguese.

was reading through the Wikipedia entry on cumin, found it interesting.

Growing up I always knew that it was a big part of modern Mexican cuisine, but it is native originally to Iran and then spread to Africa and Asia. Was not introduced to the New World until the Portuguese came.

Also, apparently, there are different grades of this spice. The best comes from Iran

The Greeks kept it in its own container on the table, much like we keep salt-and-pepper. So basically anytime your food tasted a little bit bland you would grab the cumin and shake away

Do we know if there were any changes in ancient Greek cuisine in the centuries after the death of Alexander the Great that resulted from his conquests?

I would say the end date for the question is the Roman conquest of Greece, and the geographical confines would be Greece itself.

More schools should teach languages such as Latin and Ancient Greek.

A solid understanding of these languages will result in a more confident and developed awareness, consciousness, and dare I say appreciation of more commonly speaking languages such as English.

Iโ€™ve been learning Latin for not too long now, and Iโ€™ve already been able to analyse the etymology of words and even predict the meaning of words not yet familiar to me because of my understanding of roots and whatnot.

And who wouldnโ€™t want to speak like an ancient Roman Centurion? If you donโ€™t find that cool then I canโ€™t help you, Iโ€™m afraid.

A TIL post notes that Ancient Greeks preferred having smaller penises over larger ones. Reddits most endowed users take umbrage with this and question if Greek Women had any say in the matter

The title of the post in question is pretty self-explanatory and doesn't require much context. With that being said, many believe that this was just "copium" for ancient men with small penises and if the women of that time period would agree with that statement. Pretty much all of the comments when sorted by Controversial are "lol small peepee men" but here's some choice "discussions" on the matter

User claims that larger men are more Neanderthal like as the factoid claims. Some disagree and say this is definitely someone with a small penis

"It's almost like this came from a time when women weren't allowed to give their opinion" - debate over if size matters

Do all white men have small penises?

Has "no culture hated women more than Ancient Greece"?

"Smells like vintage copium" - turns into a slapfight over who cares more about size, men or women

During the heights of Greek Colonialism, was there a ubiquitous sense of food, or a diverse interpretation of foreign cuisines?

Even a small culture like modern England has a diverse gastronomic culture, geographically and class structurally so, but there is arguably a distinct British:British-Foreign fusion:Foreign interpretation. Eg, sausage rolls:tikka masala:sushi.

During Greek antiquity, was there a sense of differing cuisine throughout the poleis, and also the colonies? Would an Athenian citizen have a sense of "Athenian cuisine vs Corinthian cuisine vs Sicilian cuisine vs Thracian cuisine"?

Could you guys recommend me books that were written in the style of ancient Greek/Norse myths, with cruel, often rather self-centered and petty gods meddling in the affairs of humans who are very flawed/tragic characters themselves?

A brooding/melancholy tone would be preferred though it's not necessary, the scale isn't really important to me (the story could be very personal or could involve world-ending stakes, I'd be fine with it either way).
