A list of puns related to "Advanced Photo System"
Hi there.
I need to use Windows 10 on my laptop because the software that I need to use for my workplace and that is provided by the employers works ONLY with Windows 10. I have only one laptop.
On the side, I do some human rights work of sorts, blogging on atheism (a risky task), privacy, minority rights etc.
I am looking for a secure operating system that I can install on a USB flash drive, run it from there and store files on the same USB flash drive. Basically exactly similar to a Tails LiveUSB with persistence enabled. The only problem is that Tails does not have a lot of the software that I need.
For instance, I work with photos, audios and videos and I need software to authenticate them/make them solid evidence (so that they can later be verified when it was taken, the geotag, who took it, whether it has been altered or not etc), edit them (for instance slice and extract the relevant 10 minute portion out of a 100hr CCTV footage), and archive them for safekeeping. I am using www.witness.org workflow and suggested software mostly.
I know there are ways to install software on Tails but since I am only a layperson and have trouble with the command line on Tails, I don't want to risk breaking the security of Tails by enabling persistence. Also I don't think a lot of tools would work with Tails either.
I am also a Win 10 user and I have never used Linux before and I have very much difficulties using the commandline. So please suggest an OS that is not only LiveUSB and persistence based but also user-friendly. Any suggestions?
I just got two rolls of APS from my grandfather who was asking if I could do anything with them. They're both marked as "processed" on the bottom, which as far as I can tell after some research means they've been processed and fed back into the canister - does this mean they're safe to crack open and take the film out? Or will I have to get them developed before I do anything?
I checked this one out from the college library back in the mid-late 00s or so. As in the title, their magic turns out to be a sufficiently advanced science. They also discover that the inhabitants of their world are the descendants of space travelers who crash landed on their planet and that the different types of magic have some form of connection to individuals of the original survivors.
I think there was a law in their society that forbade ranged weapons like bows, slings, guns, that sort of thing because it's viewed as dishonorable.
It's a bit hazy, but I also seem to recall that the rest of humanity knows they're there and mostly just leave them to their own devices except for specified areas where they make limited contact. It's a stretch, but I think that was due to an interaction in the past that essentially went (paraphrasing heavily) "Hey, we finally found you guys! Well, the descendants anyway. You want to be rescued?" "Fuck off!"
The main protagonist was male, and I think he had one of their magics, but not one of the flashy ones? I don't recall much else about it, like the cover or whether it was particularly good or how many books it was or anything.
Slightly long read ahead but be patient, you'll be rewarded at the end
$TOAD along with $PAD (the token for padswap) are making their first cross-chain launch over to Moonriver in a matter of days.
>So what is this Toad network and why should I care?
Well, basically it's a perpetual money-making machine that will never run out of steam. I know that's a pretty sensationalized headline but the actual details would take several medium articles to explain, which I'll put a link to at the end. The basic gist: TOAD is a governance token with low supply, is difficult to farm, and will provide the ecosystem with eternal liquidity through decentralized perpetual liquidity (invented by the team). Pad is a utility token that is easier to farm, with large max supply, and has a vault system that eventually creates an ever-rising price floor for the token (more details in the medium article). It takes a little while to wrap your head around everything, but it's rather genius. One of the core ideas behind perpetual liquidity, besides a quaranteed liquid tokens to buy for all eternity, is making toad, and all projects launched on the ecosystem, completely rug-proof.
>Ok sounds promising but uhh, isn't this just another BSC shitcoin?
The project indeed started on BSC, but if you actually go back to the start of the year, BSC was the only real option for building anything besides ETH, where the enormous gas fees would've made the system impossible to operate. However cross-chain was the Team's main goal from day 1
>Ok so the project has been around for a while, why should I be excited for the cross-chain launch now?
Now, here come the real juicy details:
No new $TOAD will ever be created. All existing Toads will be bridged for cross-chain
Each chain will have their own pad token, and vault but you need Toad to farm it. If you put two and two together, you can see the price pressure this will put on Toad
When cross-chain transactions will start to get routed through padswap, and volume starts increasing, the vaults are gonna start filling up like crazy.
Toad and pad holders will also get part of the $MOVR supply as an airdrop at the launch!
Of course this is all just talk without actual adoption. There are already several projects that have launched on top of Padswap, and the team has teased several huge partnerships and loads of TVL coming into padswap
Really the best aspect in the whole proj

I'm looking at this language Shen
and one of the quotes they reference on the homepage has me curious
>"Shen ... has a logic-based type system with capabilities beyond even Haskell." - Quora
I know this could just be a random person on Quora who doesn't even know what they're talking about, but I'm coming from Haskell and really love langs with static type systems so this low key has be salivating if true.
In fact, they reiterate this comparison in the one video I can find about the lang, in the description
>Shen is an hosted Lisp that comes with a full-featured macro system, a Prolog, an optional type system more powerful than Haskell's, and does it all in under 5000 lines of code.
What does a "logic-based type system" even entail? ie. How would it be different than the hindley-milner system Haskell uses? And in what way would its capabilities be "beyond" Haskell's type system?
Ok so the tldr answer here is that Shen's type system has a completely different foundation from Haskell's HM system, in that it uses Prolog under the hood to implement a sequent calculus type system.
Based on what I have seen from the few videos currenly available on the lang (1,2), the advantages are
AFAIU, a possible disadvantage may be a performance decidability penalty from the generality of such a system. Others have indicated that one may inadvertently implement a non-terminating type checker if not careful.
Hi, recently the mark of Ad control systems is released. But I find out my result is withheld. So, I wrote an email asking the professor for more details. He replied me that I was under investigation of possible collusion. It is really insane!
So, I am just wondering if there is anyone who is deemed as possible collusion in this subject and has result withheld? How could I find out what makes the teaching team think I colluded with others?
Thank you!

The new update messed up Settings in some way.
One of the ways it's messed up is that it changed the default program for opening JPG and PNG files to the Win 10 Photo viewer and would not change it back.
As luck would have it Advanced System Care Pro has a tool for changing the default program which worked for me.
