A list of puns related to "Zenith Data Systems"
I personally don't want to buy it, but I also don't want to think about how it might be tossed out if nobody tries to get it. There's no bids yet, so that worries me a little. Maybe it's trash, but somebody here might be interested.
I was gifted this model of laptop by a friend of mine who saved it from the rather awful fate of the landfill.
Upon receiving it this evening, I set out to research the model, but to no avail. I found a little info on the 425Lnp, but not the Lnc. I donβt yet have a charger for it (Zenith 232-423), but I believe I have found a supplier that still has a few circulating in stock.
If anyone has any info regarding this specific model, Iβd be most appreciative if it was passed along.
Thanks in advance!
Owner/seller said it still powers on. Comes with a bag full of manuals and things.
They want $40 for it.
I'm concerned by some of the discussion around the game, specifically focusing around the game's lack of end-game content loops and progression systems. I'm not trying to argue that Zenith should focus explicitly on endgame at the expense of everything else -- but at the end of the day, players and guilds can only stay interested for so long in a game without meaningful content once they reach the top.
Bearing all of this in mind, the game's website makes passing mentions of group content, but does the game actually feature dungeons and raids in its current state?
Hi, I'm trying to convert a Zenith data systems to USB using Soarer's converter. Here is a gallery of images showing how I wired up the keyboard to my microcontroller.
Steps I've taken:
Flashed 'Soarer_at2usb_v1.12_atmega32u4.hex' to my pro micro (probably) clone.
Tested that Soarer's firmware succesfully flashed to the pro micro by uploading an empty .sc file to it (I followed this guide).
Wired the pro micro to the keyboard according to images posted in gallery.
Plugged it into my windows 10 computer: nothing happens except the num lock LED lights up.
Tried HID listen, got the following output when plugged in:
Waiting for device:.......
Listening:
wEE
remaining: 0000
Keyboard ID: 0000
Code Set: 1
Mode: PC/XT
Unfortunately, I get no output from keypresses.
Help me please? I really want to convert this board :(
Hello /r/vintagecomputing,
Now after digging around I finally got everything that I ever wanted and more. Fortunately for me the gentleman I purchased the machine from kept everything, including the original owners manual, cheat sheet, and install files for everything.
The computer is a Zenith Data Systems Z-286 that came out in 1987 according to Info World Magazine. The specs are what I used to match machines, however it did not come with the 640K of ram nor its 2 I/O expansion cards, they were added when my Zenith needed a mouse and a way to connect to a printer (potentially an apple one if I can believe everything in the box). And the base machine would have costed $2999, 2 years in 1989 it did get a price drop according to Info World & it was OS/2 compatible.
While digging through the manual I got the model number for the EGA Monitor as well. It is a ZVM 1380 and again according to Info World It cost $799 and was designed for the US military. It has a 640x350 display 16 Color out with 64-color pallet.
Originally the computer was bought all at once through the University of New Brunswick, I do not know if it included the expanded RAM, Printer, or Mouse Cards. It would have cost ~$4000. Since I got the machine I added a Sound Blaster 16, so I can listen to the EGA version of Monkey Island.
Thanks for reading
TL/DR: Shits expensive yo!
I grabbed a few older keyboards from a closed up computer shop. This one is my favorite, though.

Dunno what kind of switch it uses; pretty quiet, and I'm ok with this. I am thinking about swapping the brains with a Teensy, though, and maybe putting it in a new case. Maybe.
I am trying to get my beloved laptop back up and running again. I was using it one day and it locked up, rebooted and it is showing this sad screen: http://imgur.com/v2ac0IW
I have a replacement Fujitsu M2713TAM disk laying around that I believe works and is compatible, the only issue, I can't locate enough information to configure it in BIOS! I was able to locate the following information several places online but need help filling in the blanks:
CYL | HED | PRE | LAN | SEC | SIZ |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
3916 | 3 | ? | ? | ? | (Autofills, should be around 810MB) |
In the off chance I am not able to get this to work with my laptop, does anyone have an old spare drive laying around I could have/one I could buy/one you would like to trade? I love the sound of the old Connor drive that is in it (the spindle whir) and will miss it with the Fujitsu, it is almost dead silent.
Bonus pic of the new(to to the computer) drive: http://imgur.com/3Godzw1
i recent obtained a old Zenith data system 620n. the powersupply works for a few hours but no longer works but when it did work the laptop was able to boot up into the bios. its in pretty good condition but i want to know how i can build a new powersupply but i dont know what voltages the plug gave out. it sends multiple voltages from the brick to the laptop. if anyone has information on this system it would be nice. ill include photos if anyone needs them. Front keyboard, Front Screen, Bottom, Power Brick, Back IO, Right power input, Power wires, Closed top view, cable connector, Battery,
Here's an album loaded with pictures of the computer.
It's an Intel A80386-16 CPU. I was wondering what I could do to get the most out of it. I don't want to build a modern computer obviously, but I want to be able to play some of the classics I remember playing as well as take the computer onto the internet.
Somebody on retrobattlestations suggested I get a VGA card but I'm unsure as to which to get and there are ones on ebay ranging from $10 to $300 or higher. I want to upgrade the CPU if I can and maybe add the 387 co-processor. I also want to upgrade the HDD to something a little more stable/reliable. I was reading about SCSI-2 cards, another unfamiliar area.
So far I have a USB 3.5" Floppy drive coming in so I can write images to floppy as well as a mouse. And tomorrow I'm running to thrift shops to look for old CRTs and any old PCs I can find.
I read the introduction page of Collection2_L2 data of Landsat, and found that the introduction said that the surface reflectance image was obtained from the image with the solar zenith angle greater than 76Β°, but the explanation behind it was some physical issues in calculating the surface reflectance under the condition of high solar zenith angle.

After that, I downloaded a data of Collection2_L2, and found that his sun elevation angle is 63Β°, that is, about 27Β° solar zenith angle, which conflicts with the above description.

According to my understanding, it is reasonable for SR images to be obtained from images with smaller zenith angle of the Sun. Is there a problem with my understanding ?
Seriously can we cool it with these posts? Thereβs been an absolute shit ton in the past few months. Nobody adds anything new to the discussion: βClubcard prices are shitβ βThey just want your dataβ βClubcard prices are just the normal price, itβs not a discount at allβ.
Great. Good thing we live in a country with multiple supermarkets so you can just not shop there if your data is so important to you. If your data is also that important, Iβd get off of social media - telling the entire internet where youβre from and your likes and dislikes is probably less private than telling one supermarket that you like eating own brand sausage rolls.
It was an interesting point when it was first brought up, but now it just looks like karma farming.
