Mis primos de Estados Unidos y su mamá vinieron a la boda de mi hermana en merida, pero al querer regresar, en el aeropuerto de merida, en migración empezaron a cuestionar a mi tía diciéndole que no había forma de comprobar que ellos fueran sus hijos y que tendrían que hacer una investigación, que mis primos se tendrían que quedar unas 3 semanas en merida en lo que les hacían la investigación y en eso los separaron de mi tía. Mi prima les empezó a decir que ella era mayor de edad (tiene 22, mi otro primo sí es menor de edad) y que no tienen por qué cuestionarla y que la dejaran pasar (los dos traían todos sus documentos y son ciudadanos estadunidenses) sin embargo le empezaron a tomar fotos y en un punto escucharon que uno de los agentes le dijo a alguien más por radio, que ya le tenían su regalo de cumpleaños.
Mi tío abuelo que estaba también ahí en en aeropuerto intervino y les exigió que los dejaran pasar, que eran sus nietos y que no venían solos, esa fue la unica forma en la que los dejaron pasar, pero ya estando en la sala de espera les comentaron otras personas que vieron lo que estaba pasando, que a veces en los aeropuertos de méxico operan de esa forma algunos “agentes de migración” para hacer trata de blancas.
Los agentes no traían identificación y aparte le tomaron fotos a mi prima, lo cual es totalmente fuera de protocolo.
Quería saber si a alguien le ha pasado algo similar? Si es comun que pase esto en los aeropuertos? Si saben de casos de trata de blancas en aeropuertos en mexico? y si saben donde puedo poner una queja, ya sea en el consulado o algo para que se preste atención a esto.

I am from México here in our country there's folk lore about creatures similar to Bigfoot. In the Yucatán peninsula they are called by a variety of names in yucatec maya and spanish altough 'sincinito' & 'sisimite' could be the same thing due how their names sound; in this post im gonna talk of them like if they were 2 different creatures.

hi all, my partner and i are leaving for mexico next week with a small 10 day road trip planned ..
our plan is to pick up a rental car in cancun, drive northwest to chiquila (isla holbox) then south to tulum for a bit, then further on to bacalar.
with everything in the news about violence and cartels, we’re getting a little nervous about driving solo through some areas we’re not familiar with. (we have driven cancun-tulum no issue) but the road from holbox to tulum is unfamiliar and a different highway more inland. less traveled i assume.
anyone have experience or advice good or bad ? what’s the road condition like and should we just forfeit the car and pay for a shuttle ? we’d really like the freedom of a car to explore at our own leisure but want to be safe. thanks for any info you have!
