Is there some dude writing angry tweets with a stopwatch timing how much storytelling Joe did vs Mark?
In a different thread, people were saying that Joe Rogan is often considered right-wing, because he talks about “SJW” topics a lot. I think there is some truth in this, but I don’t see why it’s a bad thing. Let’s face it, Joe often just talks about whatever is “viral” on the internet that week. Sometimes that is crazy animal videos and things like that, but often times what is “viral” at the time is some culture war controversy.
That’s not just what Joe is talking about, it’s what all of us are talking about. People in our society blow up these viral social media controversies and talk about them non-stop. Having his pulse on the “very online” crowd, Rogan is no different from everyone else there.
But why would talking about “culture war” topics for ~5-10 minutes with a comedian or MMA buddy of his make people think he is right wing? Well, I think it’s fairly obvious that a lot of these “culture war” topics aren’t ones that the left, or at least a segment of the left, are very good at handling. Oftentimes this segment left takes indefensible positions on culture war topics.
You might not agree with James Damore, but he probably isn’t a nazi. You might be a hundred percent for transgender rights, but maybe we shouldn’t fire people for saying that three year olds shouldn’t get sex changes. You might think the Covington Catholic kids were dicks, but there’s no need to lie about what they said or did, when we have video of the whole affair.
These issues that get blown up on Twitter, oftentimes aren’t issues where a reasonable person can agree with “the left.” Obviously this is only a tiny portion of the left, but when it comes to these topics in particular, they are the ones most active in the conversation. This would seem to be the real problem, not that Joe doesn’t like people wanting kids to transition at age three, but that the media and the mob are trying to destroy people’s lives over statements as modest as “I think three years old is too young to know if someone is trans.”

Just what the title says
TLDR: I am having troubling making a decision, and seem to like the Blaze Kamado the most of the three top choices, but I am hoping those with more experience can tell me why an aluminum kamado would be a bad idea.
I am looking to invest in a kamado for smoking and long term bbqing. I've spent most of the last week reviewing them, but having trouble pulling the trigger.
A few things -
- I love to bbq with charcoal. Really want to get into smoking and rotisserie foods.
- High quality is more important than price. Buy it for life.
- I'm a bit lazy when it comes to storage and care. Withstanding the elements due to neglect is important, which is one of my main concerns with ceramic Kamados.
- I can't find any reviews or forum posts on the Blaze Kamado that don't sound like paid promoters.
- Looks are kind of important. I could probably go for the BGE easier if it just wasn't so green...
- I am only cooking for two. The smaller size of the aluminum "probably" should not matter. No kids so I don't have to worry about some child putting hands on the hot exterior of the bbq.
- I plan to make a table for it, so having a "stand" included doesn't factor into my considerations.
- It will be used for baking, smoking, and rotisserie/spit grill.
My first choice was the Kamado Joe due the multi-level accessories and the bang for the buck price, but it seems there are random issues here and there that pop up.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like he brings it up every other podcast. He makes it seem like it's a much bigger thing than it actually is. In my day-to-day life I very rarely hear anyone even talk about transgender people, but Joe just constantly brings it up. Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?
Has this happened to any of my fellow servers? Had this weirdo lady call my restaurant, proceeded to ask me how long the wait was and before I could even get a sentence out she cuts me off to say "You're talking too much"...lol i'm sorry?? What would you like me to do then ma'am?? It was pretty hard to curse her out right then and there but we were so slammed I just hung up on her. Not worth the pay or my time! It does make me wonder what goes through these peoples heads when they want to act like that...You didn't get your question answered and ended up staying on the phone longer anyways because you wanted to pick a fight.
I was just wondering since I can relate to this, lol.
