A list of puns related to "1960s In Music"
There's a rather well-known American classic rock song (Woodstock-era I guess?) that often plays on the radio that I'm trying to identify. The singer sounds kind of androgynous so I'm not sure if it's a man or a woman. During the chorus there's this soaring, dramatic emphasis on the words "was captured," where the word "captured" is drawn out, loud and long, while the instrumental bit quiets for a sec.
I wish I could remember more of the words but I can't! I tried searching for the lyrics and can't come up with anything. Thanks for any ideas!
No Marylin Manson yet. What to do?
I've had a song that I can't find the name of, since the only words I know of it are Do's... I know this song exists since it's played somewhere in the Wonder Years show, so I know the song was supposed to be from the 1960s.
It has to be pop music from that era, but again, all I know is that it goes something like this: "(some words that sound like they rhythmically go 'Triplet one'), Do, Do, Do", with this being the Chorus? I'll leave some sheet music of what the notes and rhythms might be, and hopefully I can figure it out.
I know how useless the information I gave is, but it's all I got. Any questions to help me out, I'll answer ASAP.
I know society's fashion and music etc stagnated from the 1950's onwards up to the day the bombs fell in 2077. America has lots of local Music in each state aswell as general Music heard by the masses in every state, like how Nuka World has its own music aswell as access to the commonwealth radio. And in New Vegas you have The Kings.
Pre War i think ( excluding general Music ) its unlikely a whole society would listen to the same songs for 122 + years without musical development in small pockets of society?.
Would a Fusion core guitar developed by a nerd at Vaul-tec and played by Jimmy Hendrix be unrealistic ?
Hi, everyone. I am a big fan of rock music, and I'm a lover of music in general. I like and/or love various genres, from post-punk & progressive rock to post-hardcore and neo-psychedelia. I think that there's great music in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, etc., and I've always been fascinated by music.
However, I think that all of us should look at the 1960s, and how it affected music. To start with, the sixties was where rock music really came into its own. From The Beatles & The Rolling Stones to The Velvet Underground and Frank Zappa, the sixties were full of unique, artistically challenging bands that helped to develop rock, and The Who, The Doors and Captain Beefheart broke numerous rules for rock.
Also, the sixties had several albums that had a massive impact on music. I would argue that Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Velvet Underground & Nico, Are You Experienced, Highway 61 Revisited, Pet Sounds, etc. changed music forever. All of those albums were either building upon others' innovations, or they did things that nobody else did before (i.e. Lou Reed's ostrich tuning, the poetry of Jim Morrison's lyrics, Jimi Hendrix's guitar work). Other classics such as White Light/White Heat, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, The Doors' first album, and In the Court of the Crimson King paved the way for several genres & artists.
Finally, The Beatles & The Velvet Underground are among the most acclaimed and influential rock bands of all time, and their impact on music can't be exaggerated. You can hear traces of those bands in XTC, Sonic Youth, R.E.M., Husker Du, The Stone Roses, etc.
So, would you guys say that the 1960s were the most important decade, for music?

I can't remember the lyrics but it says something like "between love and hate" or something like that. There's definitely a between. I think. It might be a modern song with a old school soul sound.
Not including obviously popular icons like Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Djavan, Jorge Ben, Tom Jobim, etc. Are artists like Trio Ternura, Trio Esperança/Evinha/Marizinha, Carlos Valle, Quarteto em Cy, Nara Leão, Sivuca, Jackson do Pandeiro, Taiguara, Cartola, Cassiano, Zé Roberto, Hyldon, and Os Tincoãs popular today?

Sounds like some modal/spiritual jazz of the 1960s, or maybe free jazz in the vein of early Ornette Coleman
Anyone have any idea?
Hi all
I was hoping maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I'm looking for names of gay musicians or songs that had a lgbt theme that were performed or who performed in the 1960s. No particular genre. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I've heard this song multiple times on several different videos, it sounds so familiar to me, like something I would hear in my childhood.
My dad and I are both avid classical music listeners. He constantly makes claims that nothing good has been written since the 1960s. I'm pretty sure this has more to do with him not actually listening to music since then, so he has no basis to make this claim. Unfortunately, I don't really listen to anything after then either, so I don't have counterexamples.
I was hoping some of you may have some good counterexamples for him. Is there anything being written these days in the romantic style or maybe some of the early/mid 20th century Russians (eg. Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff) or some style that may be similar? I don't think most of the more modern or avant guarde styles would be convincing. For example, minimalism, while I enjoy it from time to time, isn't exactly moving or passionate or exciting like a Beethoven piano sonata.
