Raised on The Yellow Submarine (film)?
I was born forty-ish cough years ago and wondered how many of my generation (or indeed any generation) on this sub have a strong childhood connection to the Yellow Submarine movie?
I’m sure it was the repeat viewings of this beautiful film as a kid that forged my bond with the Beatles (not to mention surrealism, psychedelia etc). I saw it recently for the first time in yyyyears and realised that I’ve always had the deepest love for the songs that appear in the film. Eleanor Rigby, Hey Bulldog and Nowhere Man in particular. I’d love to hear whether anyone else grew up with it or consider it your Beatles gateway drug?

[TOMT][MOVIE][1990s?] Animated, white background with unique paper/paint(?) on top, shaggy haired princess, other characters incl. blue evil king(?), took place in a dystopian NYC or Paris, kind of weird/artsy like Yellow Submarine vibes, long periods of silence like a museum film; Cartoon Network??
I feel like this film slips into my mind from time to time. I swear it was on TV in the 90s or 00s, but maybe made earlier. Could almost pass for a 1970s film. I believe it was on Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon (I'm US-based, born in '89), I'd have a hard time believing it was Disney. Again, from what I recall, totally white background the entire film with what looked like bits of paper or paint strokes on top to create depth and the whole scenery, characters, etc. It's killing me that I haven't been able to find this as I scour "forgotten" or "weird" animated movies!
What if Yellow Submarine actually got a remake in 2019?
Currently my favorite movie is Yellow Submarine. I asked Santa for the DVD of the film, so lets hope I get this wonderful movie!

The happiest little girl in the world today! My daughter Robyn is absolutely Beatles mad, and today she got to sit in the actual yellow submarine that was used at the '68 world premiere of the film at the London Pavillion in Piccadilly Circus! The whole tour was wonderful, but this was very special.

Would've been watched in the 2000s, no later than 2009ish. Either a couple of films or a series. It's cartoon, not cgi animation, not live action. All I can remember from it is possibly an animal as a main character who flies his little submarine/fighter plane shape spaceship, saving his friends as he flies about. Think one of his friends was female and lived up in space too, who he visited at one point. Thanks for any help anyone has :)
Lots of George on Yellow Submarine?
Now I’m not complaining, but was there was a reason there’s two nods to George songs “Love You To” and “Think For Yourself” and also “Only A Northern Song” and “It’s All Too Much”? I thought it was mildly entertaining to think that maybe the lads were just like “ah fuck George has so many of these songs. Why don’t we just throw them on the soundtrack for the film we have no part in?”. Just thought it was interesting to see four Harrisongs.

Is it me or Jeremy the boob from Yellow Submarine voice sounds just like the Maharishi's?
And there are two others details that I find interesting:
One of the main characters of the film is called Young Fred. Maybe an allusion to Freddie Lennon, John's father who worked for years in the merchant fleet?
On Yellow Submarine, George's character got an electric shock, on Let It Be, and now on Peter Jackson's documentary the real George got an electric shock.

TIL that during the recording for the movie "Yellow Submarine", Peter Batten (who provided the voice of George Harrison) was discovered to be a deserter from the British Army of the Rhine in Germany and was arrested before he finished recording for the film.

What are your thoughts on the 1968 film 'Yellow Submarine'?
When I was a kid it was easily in my top 5 favourite animated movies and I just revisited it and thought it was fantastic. The animation, sound and character design, voice acting. In my opinion it accomplishes everything it tries to be. It's a solid 8-9/10 in my scale.
