Hey all, hope you’re hanging in there! As the title suggests, I’m desperate for some music suggestions that sound similar to Woodstock’s vibe. I LOVE that album (kind of an understatement—according to Apple Music replay, I’ve listened to it almost 500 times and I’ve only just found it 2 months ago, lol) and though I’m not at all sick of it, I really want to expand my selection. Thanks so much in advance. :)
Recently I’ve really been into dissecting the time periods of Metallica. With that, I’ve been watching the Woodstock 94 performance. This, obviously, was at the very end of TBA era after several years of touring it across the world.
In this performance, they still have their long hair, TBA touring energy and personality, original tuning, and have yet to transition into recording Load (I think).
We all know they took much of 1995 off, although there were a few shows recorded. The ones I’ve watched include the new guitar tuning, a slight difference in style, and sneak peak performances of Load songs.
No real question here just an observation of trying to truly dissect the greatest band in the world’s eras!
MIND FUCKING BLOWN!! I have been a huge NIN fan since I was 13 & I am now 38. I have seen NIN in concert 3 times and know the lyrics to almost every single song. (That has lyrics) How the FUCK have I never seen the Woodstock 94 performance until now?? Its actually quite embarrassing to admit...lol...but I am literally blown away right now! I couldn't speak for a solid hour after watching the whole performance. When that extended version of "Pinion" starts and builds to a fever pitch then Trent literally crawls onto the stage covered in mud?? FFUUCCKK!! My whole body was covered in goosebumps! That was fucking insane!!
Edit: honestly the whole time I'm thinking why the fuck is that crowd not more hyped up??? Maybe it was their first NIN experience??
