This mission is a story. A story of the last major German offensive on the Western Front. A battle which saw horrible fighting and led to the bloodiest battle for the US for the entire of World War II. You partake this story from the German's eyes, as a soldier of the 1st SS Panzer Division under Wilhelm Mohnke, part of the 6th Panzer Army, with a goal of punching a hole through to Antwerp and encircle large groups of divisions to wipe them out and attempt to negotiate a peace treaty.
Of course in reality this never happened. Strapped for fuel supplies due to the vastly reduced levels of available oil fields, with disorganization rampant in the officer's quarters and an eager Russian invasion put an end to the assault, which lead to the breakthrough of the Siegfried line, and the eventual surrender of the German forces. But you, as a staunch Soldaten fΓΌr die krieg, will attempt to change the history books... at least in sim form.
This is a mission in which the odds are stacked against you. You will have varying levels of equipment, including ammo, and must scrounge for guns as you go if you run out of ammo. There will be some modest resupplying, but if you must, the enemy you just killed won't need their weapons any longer.
December, 1944
Operation Watch on the Rhine (Wacht am Rhein) was the last major German offensive campaign on the Western Front during World War II, and began on 16 December 1944. It was launched through the densely forested Ardennes region of Wallonia in eastern Belgium, northeast France, and Luxembourg, achieved a total surprise attack, due to a combination of Allied overconfidence, preoccupation with Allied offensive plans, and poor aerial reconnaissance due to bad weather. The battle severely depleted Germany's armuored forces, and they were largely unable to replace them. The battle went on for over a month before the front line was effectively restored to its position prior to the attack. In the wake of the defeat, many experienced German units were left severely depleted of men and equipment, as surviv
... keep reading on reddit β‘Here is a video explaining the geographical significance of such a move. Basically France has strong natural barriers on all sides except its northeast where there is a significant opening that has been used to attack France multiple times.
What if instead of trying to conquer all of Europe, he decided to only conquer as much as necessary to fortify France? Then he focused on internal improvements like infrastructure, education, fostering industrialization, creating competent and strong institutions, eliminating corruption, etc.
edit. If he conquered further than the Rhine it would go no further than the rest of the Rhine delta at the Ijssel river, the easternmost and northernmost branch of the Rhine. Going that far would also conquer the richest part of the Netherlands in the process of gaining a strong natural barrier. However, the Waal or Nederrijn also provide strong natural barriers without having to hold all of the Netherlands, just some of it. Regardless, a large, heavily populated German speaking area with cities like Cologne and Mainz would need to be conquered and held under such a plan.
He saw too much cost and too much risk in trying to invade and conquer countries like Spain, Prussia, Austria-Hungary, and especially Russia. He saw that even if he could conquer all of that territory it would leave the French army disastrously overstretched. He saw more benefit in internal improvements once his country was secured with natural barriers to invasion on all sides.
Also, he would attempt to conquer overseas colonies as he would have seen more benefit and less cost in that than attempting to conquer Europe, similar to the British.
enough is enough, i hate having to play round around the rosie with some little boi that is hogging the A point
let us shoot HE at it so it falls down, killing anything on top of the square
Gotta love Ralph Lawler, what a legend. Itβs a shame that he retired one year before the clippers had their best shot at winning a championship, Iβd like to see him come out of retirement for the finals if they made it.
HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT.
I've never seen three people go from genuine high excitement to a low morale, depressed state. Max and his friends just went through a runthrough about how fucking HORRIBLE this is. He says it's way worse than Injustice 2, Tekken 7, and DOA.
He said that the grind is not fun, takes too long, and eventually, says is not worth it as he says EVERY SINGLE BOX IN THE KRYPT IS RANDOM. That means every single thing in the krypt: intros, gear, skins, taunts, concept art and tons more can take fucking YEARS to unlock. If you do the math, every single item in the Krypt combined can go up to thousands and thousands and THOUSANDS of real life money. Max said that he only wants Brutalities and he can't get it because it's locked and getting it in the Krypt is absolutely random.
The grind is Towers of Time is absolutely horrible. It's not fun, it's too hard, and is even unbeatable at times because of the fact that for some towers you need to have a certain item in the Krypt in order to have a chance to beat the stage. The combat itself im the mode is also horrible, as it's basically MK9 Test Your Luck on fucking crack, steroids, weed, ALL TYPES OF DRUGS.
He actually says near the end of it that it makes him want to not play the game anymore. That's a big fucking yikes when one of the most positive FGC spokesman gets from happiness to despair in literally one hour.
Max says he'd rather go through lootboxes.
As a big fan of Mortal Kombat, and a guy who genuinely loves MK11 as a game, this is probably one of the most heinous mechanics I've ever seen as a reward system.
This breakdown went for SO LONG that I really think this will be the video that sets of the trend. It's really that bad.
Max said that he will eventually edit it to post it on Youtube, but if you have lots and lots of time, then watch the whole hour+ of the moment.
The comedianβs name is Gary Gulman. Iβm a big fan of his and the joke is one of his best.
If you want to listen to the whole joke, itβs on Spotify and Apple Music. Itβs the last track on Gulmanβs special βNo Can Defend.β I recommend checking out the whole album, but that closing bit is amazing. Itβs about 9 minutes long.

Context:
> But that doesn't mean he wasn't paying attention to the contract extensions signed by other members of the 2016 draft class. Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons, picked one spot ahead of Ingram, inked a max deal worth $170 million over the next five years. Jaylen Brown, who was drafted one spot after Ingram, re-upped with the Boston Celtics for four years and $115 million. Buddy Hield, the No. 6 pick in that draft, got four years and $106 million.
> "When we talked about the extension, of course, I'm human," Ingram said. "When I look at other guys, I'm like, 'This m-----f----- got an extension? Oh my god. Man, we can lace up right now and play one-on-one to 15 and this m-----f----- won't score.' That's how I looked at it as a competitor."
> That competitive spirit is paying dividends for the Pelicans, who sources say intend to re-sign Ingram this summer and view him as a fundamental building block.
Ain't nothing better to motivate Ingram than counting another man's bread I guess.
Edit: it happened again lol
