A list of puns related to "Volkswagen Passat (B6)"
Hello,
It's first winter for me with a car and since below zero degree temps started a week ago I've been facing some problems.
I own VW Passat B6, 2008y. It all started with drivers doors,- I just couldn't close it after entering in the morning. First I tried just warming up the car (and it worked fine after 40mins or so:)). Later after reading some forums I've discovered magical function of locking my car from inside while holding car door shut manually. It did the trick for close distance trips. After 10-15mins of driving with doors partly closed doors would close fully since it got warm?
From those forums got an idea to lubricate door's part (without disassembling doors) with WD40.
Same day after that both drivers and passengers doors doesn't open from outside (although central locking system seems to be working), but opens from inside.
Could anyone help? It sucks that only way to get to drivers seat is first opening door from the backseat :))
Thank you in advance.
I am looking to model the suspension as a damped spring.
I need to find out the:
of a stock Volkswagen Passat B6 station wagon. I do not have access to the actual vehicle.
Is there some sort of table or data sheet online where I can find such information? (or typical values for similar cars) Thanks!
When using a Volkswagen Passat 2014 and going backward, I notice that the backup camera turn off when I start gaining speeding (over > ~30 km/h). How can I prevent the backup camera from turning off?
We're currently working on the car to resolve another issue that's brought up a check engine light with the MAF sensor.
Started it up this morning to check revs and started fine. Turned it off and all we did was take the VW casing off the engine block and tried to crank again to check for vacuum leaks. It didn't start! The steering wheel column light comes up, but then on the setting before starting ignition, not a single light came up on the dashboard, and no response/ noise at all when I push the key in.
We literally did nothing but remove this cover and I checked all the pipes that could of been causing a vacuum leak, nothing was loose or moving. The car is still getting full electric, it locks/ unlocks on the button, the stereo works/ all buttons on the dash, but it won't start. What on earth is going on, does anyone have any ideas!? Really stuck!!
Is there an easy way for a non-mechanic to check why my old volkswagen passat smell like gasoline?
The smell is always there when i drive the car. We just had -25 Celsius over here, could the tank have cracked or something like that?
I know these cars were great back in the day, my father owned a late 2000 model at around 2005-2006 and it was fantastic, but how are these cars holding up now?
What's up guys, so I'm buying my first car today; its a 2003 Volkswagen V6 Passat wagon with 126,000 miles. Its on H&R coil overs with a cherry bomb muffler. It has an aftermarket Bluetooth stereo and a wired sub in the back. The car was listed for 4k, but the guys taking 3.5 which is great. The only thing is, I have about an hour of driving stick under my belt. My mom used to drive stick and she said she'd be willing to drive it back for me if needed, and I would drive her car back (it's an hour drive to where we're buying the car).
I'm getting a prepurcahse inspection at Pep Boys, and the title is clean and in -hand. Does anyone else have any advice for stuff I should do to make the purchase go smoother? Any advice is much appreciated!
I also have seen that oils sludging and timing belts can be issues with these models, does anyone know if the mechanic would be able to spot a timing belt that is going out?
Does anyone have any maintenance tips for preventing oil sludging? And maintaining a timing belt?
Iβm no mechanic although I would love to learn about how to work on cars and I saw this ad on this Passat for 900, I sent him an offer for 700 and he was willing to take it. I would just wanna know if anyone is familiar with the process of replacing the head and how difficult it would be for someone new. And is 700 a good deal?
Description: βHas blown head gasket Has new turbo only ran this turbo for 10 min before I found out it had a blown gasket Has a 2 step computer with a 120 hp increase Has new timing belt done to it about 100 miles ago Has all new cooling parts every thing that could change on the cooling side has been changed 5 speed manual has new clutch stock oem It cracks over and almost starts but head gasket is blownβ
Hello,
To start, I owned a 2004 1.8t passatt for 3 years that I adored before someone hit it while parked. That one was very reliable besides a folded brake pad (you read that right) and a water pump. It had 186000 when I bought it and over 200,000 when it was totaled.
I've been looking for a car below the 10,000 dollar range to use as my daily driver, and I came across this 2013 model being sold at just under $9,000. It has 114,000 on the clock. Question is, what are some reliability concerns? I was also concerned about the longer than average braking distance. Anyone have any experience/wisdom they could add, and if it seems like a solid buy?
Thank you!

I have about 2 litres of ford engine oil in storage and wonder if it's ok to use it in a diesel Passat
So about two weeks ago I changed the coolant tank because it was cracked. New one seemed to work fine but was cracked as well, verified this. Now I bought another one and there's not a crack in there I'm sure, but I seem to be losing coolant so rapidly and there's no signs of where it's coming from. There's not a single hose where it shows or a puddle below the car.
Last night I filled it up to a little above the minimum and then drove for about 40 minutes and it was now significantly below the minimum. I don't know if it's a leak or if it's using too much coolant, but if I keep this going it will run out of coolant in like 2 days. Help please.
Edit: It is not the cap either I'm pretty sure.
