Iβve been researching how to go about starting a home bakery business. On the New York Cottage Laws site it says cupcakes are fine but no βbuttercreamβ...? It then goes on to say most buttercreams without βdairyβ are okay but check locally. Does anyone have any definitive answers to explain this? I read up on NPH and PH products and saw some recipes for NPH buttercreams. Any insight or information to set this straight would be SO appreciated! Thank you

My husband and I are looking to buy in Valley Cottage. I grew up in Westchester so Iβm somewhat familiar with the area, having spent a lot of time hiking/camping in Harriman and going to restaurants in Nyack, mostly.
Valley Cottage seems like a nice place with a good mix of accessibility to the city(I drive, I already know itβs going to suck, but am priced out of 914) and a cross between rural and suburban that weβre looking for.
My main question is how are the schools? I think our two kids would be zoned for Valley Cottage Elementary and Nyack Middle and High Schools. Theyβre both very social, happy kids. Is there a good sense of community?
Any other pros/cons of the area would also be appreciated. I know the local politics in some parts of Rockland are complex, I wasnβt sure if that also extends to the VC school district? Would it stop you from buying there?
Also my husband and I are avid board gamers, so any local gaming spot recommendations would be very welcome!
