A list of puns related to "Urdu"
I didn't go to college for a week because my dad was ill, so I sent a leave application. The college accepted my leave because it was a ΰ€΅ΰ€Ύΰ€²ΰ₯ΰ€¦ reason.
No fights here please haha
Hi. One of my friends is ancestrally Pakistani. She told me her mum said one of our friends is 'fast' or ΨͺΫΨ² (?? google translate). What does this mean? I am European so pls try to explain it in the context of culture etc. Thanks
For example, a chair is a female, a phone is a male, a machine is a female, etc.
There was not a single Urdu teacher that I thought was a "normal" person , we moved alot from one place to the other dude to Army reasons And every Urdu teacher I encountered were either rude , eccentric or like had this genius level intellect and could make shaers out of nowhere . Same story for you guys? . Conversely English teachers were really chill imo. Would love to hear your experience.
Urdu is a really beautiful language and from what I have noticed is that the younger population takes pride in not knowing and not being able to read Urdu. They also add English sentences wherever they can. Urdu is culturally very rich and has a lot of literature as well as poetry. The script is really pretty too. Sad that people don't take pride in it as much as other populations do in their native languages like the Turks and Chinese for example. Anybody else feel the same way?
Also, as far as regional languages are concerned, Punjabi is by far considered the most inferior for some reason. I would say Pashto speaking Pashtuns take the most amount of pride in their regional language and all other provinces do too except Punjab.
This is a summer project which aimed at preserving the vast library of Urdu Idioms in a user friendly and visually appealing manner. This endeavor, undertaken a team of 2, hopes to make this beautiful component of the Urdu language ever more easily accessible to new learners and those who want to improve their expression in Urdu.

This is a plague in urdu hip hop scene started by TA, and now endorsed by SKD, JJ, Jani and others in their own work.
In WHY, as of now I have found 5-6 lines absolutely that are quoted and 2 suspected lines , but after that I haven't found any. And you know , as someone who loves poetry ,( as of now I assume)
**Apart from that Anjum and Yunus have written genuinely high class poetry in that song. But because of that 4 -5 lines that will be overlooked
If Anjum's 'yeh jalte diye hain gawah " line is actually an original line, then that's probably the best line I have heard in some while from a non professional poet/shayar in a long time. That is a very stunning line painting a live picture of wait and frustration . I could say TA is the most poetic rapper out there.
But when they don't give credit you hesitate. You don't know if it's actually theirs or if it isn't.You know they can write brilliantly, but they aren't exactly shayars. So when they quote them, rest of their lines get overshadowed.
This has to stop. It's pathetic.**
Inspired by a user named u/Okay-Tonight-8723 (sorry bro don't remember your username will edit it tomorrow).
Context: In their new song WHY, after finding out that 4 lines of TA's second verse is of Jaun Elia I looked for other "quoted" lines. Haven't found any other than one suspected line of TY.
The title pretty much says it all. How would you call someone a simp in Urdu?
I recently discovered the following 2 Urdu rap songs:
These were really good, finally the Urdu rap scene has picked up proper rap quality. I was wondering if there are other good rap songs out there which I have missed.
Mexican national here. In love with the Urdu language and what it represents. Here for advice, any tips appreciated.

I ask this because many Afghans I see on the internet know Urdu, so I wanted to ask how many in you're opinion know it in Afghanistan. Also wanted to ask what is the reason for this. Is this because of them living in Pakistan for some while and being educated there or some other reason?
I am Pakistani btw.
Hello. I am interested in learning Urdu. I have tried different tutors online and I had problem following up.
With online tutors the learning feels kind of unstructured and there isnβt really a goal. I have also taken classes at a language center in Washington but the teacher would only make us read for 2 hours and would never check our assignments.
I am open to suggestions either another tutor or a language center that offers the language. I am just looking to learn conversational Urdu. I can read some words but it takes me a while.
Thanks!
i'm half indian half arab but whitewashed from both sides, and for a long time and due to bullying and social factors i used to be "ashamed" of being part indian but recently i got into urdu music and have been seeing a lot of indian girls being proud of indian and their language and culture so i decided i want to learn urdu (since covid and i dont have anything to do anyways). im not sure what good websites i could use, any help?
Please don't add rap songs, or average Bollywood song. Something comfy would be appreciated
I'm a non-resident myself living in Australia. When talking to Indians, they always laugh (in a nice way) because of the flowery Urdu I speak. I genuinely can't bring myself to use very common Urdu (no offense to those who do - personal choice) with other people outside of my house. What are your experiences like?
Hi! :)
Iβm planning to get a tattoo and want it to be in Urdu although I donβt speak it. Speak Hindi so I can usually communicate at least with my Urdu friends. Iβve always had this admiration and respect for Urdu as a language and would love to get a tattoo with it.
The words Iβm thinking of (or atleast the English translation) are βOnly Loveβ. Could someone tell me what is the most appropriate translation of this into Urdu? And if you have any other Urdu-related suggestions apart from this, Iβd love to hear them!
Thanks in advance β€οΈ
Can be in sindhi, pushto or punjabi too.
