Basically the title. I am just curious how you all decide what to read when you are looking for something new and how you read something you like.

Winner lives, loser dies. Is there any character you feel like you might have a chance against? (I'd say foaming mouth guy, lol)

In u8 '\uXXXX' is the UCN first converting to the corresponding codepoint (ISO/IEC 10646) and then converting to the corresponding prefix? In this case u8 (UTF-8)?

Or what is the encoding of a UCN inside such a literal, if there is a prefix which explicitly defines the encoding?

While the Dominaria United set release date isn't being released until about a year from now, considering this is one of the sets in 2022 I am looking forward to the most, I figure this would be a fun thread to discuss and speculate about.

To the players familiar with the lore and story of the classic and contemporary Dominaria eras who are some legendary characters that we are likely to see appear in the Dominaria United set and Commander decks?

Questions to consider for discussion:

1. Who are some characters associated with Dominaria that we haven't seen represented on a card before? What are the color identities and potential mechanical game play identities of those characters?
2. Who are past characters from the previous Dominaria blocks that we are likely to see return in Dominaria United (i.e. Teferi, Squee, Karn)

Note: Feel free to utilize this thread as a general speculation thread for the Dominaria United set overall.

Runewords are just so punishingly powerful it makes the fun of rare item finding kind of pointless. I liked how characters used to be unique, now it feels like every character only maxes out if they’re the same as everyone else.

the universe (both irl and in SW fiction) is enormous. so maybe nobody goes to planets with toxic air because why bother when there are millions or billions of planets with breathable earth air?

they never visit planets with unbreathable air to get valuable metals or resources?

This is a necessary prologue to set up some of what will be happening later in the book, set from the viewpoint of two ancillary characters (one of whom will be very familiar).

Starting next chapter, we will be starting the story proper with the viewpoint of Hasha, the Greenlander Guy with a Dog.

I know the first release wasn't due until 9 PM EST, but I got eager. Sue me. You can expect 9 PM on Saturdays to be the typical release time moving forwards.

About me- I've been writing in some form or another for about 2 decades. In addition to having been published traditionally, I also write web serials online under multiple pseudonyms, some of which have accumulated over a million readers.

The world in the game is the world of the book. I will be adding nothing, outside of providing characterization/names for characters where there is none (like the Dust King's actual name or history), expanding on already existing characterization of unique recruits in a way that is consistent with their in-game personality (Like detailing Beep's journey to Mongrel after being thrown out of the Hive), and extrapolating on lore when there is no definitive in-game answer to a question regarding the world's history (How Cross was able to forge his weapons so much better than anyone else). Beyond that, my goal is to keep this book as tightly consistent to canon and the feel of the Kenshi universe as possible. I've got several dozen hours of studying wiki posts and reading lore and fan theories online. I can't promise you I will get everything perfect, but I am certainly going to try.

The serial will start being posted on here next month, and I hope/plan to release new content for it weekly. My newborn daughter may limit this output at times, but I should be able to keep up that pace comfortably.

The book is going to have three major viewpoints, each of which is one of the vanilla starting scenarios, or a well-known mod scenario. I have ideas for all of them. The problem is, I cannot select which ones I like the most! So I figured I'd turn it over to you guys to see the stories you'd most like to see. The three highest ranked poll results will be the ones I use, at least to start with. All of them may end up making it in at some point. Each option will have a start and a race/sex (or races/sexes), and the characters will be starting in the book with the exact same gear in the exact same situation as in the game. From there, well, we'll see just how long they last!

So, which of these starts sound most interesting to you guys?

I think the character’s name was Jacob but that seems not quite right for some reason. I read it in the 2010’s, probably written for high school age kids. I do remember a character named Celeste who (I think?) could turn into a fox. There were also moths that killed people in a single bite, and stone people who became ‘infected’ with a certain stone type and eventually transformed completely. I’ve been trying the remember the name of this book for years. Thanks in advance!

Edit: I just remembered that the book’s title was the main character’s first and last name.
