Unbreakable (film series) Puns

These tend to fall into 2 categories, which are as follows:

(1). Movie length pilots that (a) never got picked up as series or (b) only got brief series runs. These include:

• "Stranded in Space" (Originally the pilot movie for a series called "The Stranger" that was never picked up for series and later got re-released by Film Ventures International with their usual credits chicanery.)

• "Code Named: Diamond Head" (A Quinn Martin pilot movie for a "Hawaii Five-O" ripoff that never got picked up for series and boy is it depressing to see Ian McShane in this one.)

• "San Francisco International" (Pilot movie that actually did get picked up for series as one of the "Four in One" for NBC, but only lasted six episodes before getting the axe.)

• "Agent for H.A.R.M." (Interesting case as this was intended to be the pilot movie for a series, but got released in theaters instead.)

And the other option:

(2). Failed TV series that get recut and re-released as "movies" to unsuspecting viewers. These include:

• "Master Ninja" and "Master Ninja II" (Film Ventures International again, this time taking all 14 episodes of the short-lived series "The Master" and re-releasing them as seven "movies" with more of their credits bullshit.)

• "Fugitive Alien", "Fugitive Alien II", "Mighty Jack" and "Time of the Apes" (Japanese TV series recut and redistributed as films courtesy of our old friend Sandy Frank.)

• "Manhunt in Space" and "Crash of the Moons" (Recut episodes of "Rocky Jones: Space Ranger.)

• "Prince of Space" (Another Japanese TV series recut as a film, only this one can't be blamed on old Sandy.)

• "Riding with Death" (Two episodes of the short-lived "Gemini Man" TV series poorly edited together as a "film" because...they both featured Jim Stafford as a guest star. Seriously, there's no other reason that's apparent.)

Quite a rogue's gallery when you look at it. And I hope we get more from this genre in the future, because there's a LOT of failed TV pilots to choose from. Hell, we could get half a season just on the remaining "Master Ninja" films alone.

The biggest obstacle for me has been the lack of interesting original products in Mandarin Chinese. I'm talking about something like anime, manga, and light novels.

I have to confess I've been a bit lazy and never actually dug very deep looking for this stuff. But I'm asking for help. Since Ive left China my Chinese has been on a slow decline and it only just occurred to me I could be better than fucking 大山 If I had studied a mere 30 minutes a day.

Any suggestions are welcome.

EDIT: For references regarding my taste, I like series such as Dark, Lucifer, Narcos, The Expanse, The Boys, Cursed, Shadow and Bone, Witcher.

Books such as Dune, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, LOTR, Song of Ice and Fire, Neverwhere, Harry Potter is ok.

Anime/Manga/Light Novels: Mushoku Tensei, Attack on Titan, Spy x Family, Boku no Hero Academia, Nagatoro, Hige Wo Soru/Higehiro.

For music, I usually like alternative rock. Been listening to a lot of Kaiser Chiefs, Celtic Punk (Rumjacks, Dropkick Murphys), U2 (always), Pixies, The Clash, Blur.

Are we just forgetting the fact that Edward Norton played Hulk before he was recast with Mark Ruffalo?

Nah, I think recastings and actors playing multiple characters is just something that happens from time to time in the MCU.

Anyway Matt Murdock is supposed to appear in No Way Home so that should settle the debate once and for all

I know we talk all the time about newer works getting adapted, and that's totally fine - there are a ton I'd love to see get the TV treatment.

But there are also TONS of great works from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's that would also make great shows or films. What would you choose?
