A list of puns related to "Turkish folklore"
Mhachkayย (Turkish:ย Meรงkey,Tatar:ย ะำัะบำะนย andย Mรครงkรคyย orย ะำัะตะบำะนย sometimesย ะำัะตะบ, Azerbaijani:ย Mษรงkษy) is a creature somewhat similar to a vampire in Turkic (and especially Tatar) folklore.
A person born with two hearts and two souls was believed to be a Mhachkay. When one was recognized it was chased away from human habitations. Mhachkays were usually people who died at a young age, but only one soul passed on, and the other soul caused the deceased Mhachkay to come alive and prey upon other living beings. These undead creatures fly at night in the form of an owl and attack night-time travelers and people who wander off into the woods, sucking out their blood and eating out their insides. A Mhachkay could also be satisfied with animal blood, for a short period of time. When a person recognized as a Mhachkay dies, decapitating the corpse and burying the head separate from the rest of the body is said to prevent a Mhachkay from rising back from the dead; burying the body face down with a sickle around its head is said to work as well. Anyone found wandering the forests with fresh soil and blood covering their hands, and possibly torn fingernails were believed to be a Mhachkay as well.
A Mhachkay event in the Turkish Empire
Ahmed ลรผkrรผ Efendi,ย kadฤฑย (judge) ofย Tฤฑrnova, reported an event to the capital city. With a letter he published the happenings in the journalย Takvim-i Vakayiย (date: 19 Rebiulahir 1249 /1833):
โThere have been manifestations of vampires in Tirnovo. (...) A huge crowd went to the graveyard. As he turned the painted piece of wood on his finger, the painting stood in front of the graves of two brigands, Tetikoฤlu Ali and Apti Alemdar, formerly members of the Janissary corps, and bloody tyrants. The graves were dug up. The cadavers were found to have grown by a half, their hair and nails had grown longer by three or for inches. Their eyes were inundated by blood, and looked terrifying. All of the crowd assembled at the graveyard saw it. When alive, these men had committed all kinds of mischief, including rape, theft and murder; when their corps was abolished, they had not been delivered to the executioner, interestingly, as evidenced by their age they had died a natural death. Unsatisfied by their mischievous life, they now harassed people as evil spirits. According to the description of Nikola the exorcist, in order to expel such evil spirits, one has to drive a wooden stake into the belly of their cadavers and pour boiling water o

(there was something similar in the Ertugul Series too) //PS: obviously not intended as a hate/shaming for the turks, if you know what topic I am hinting at.
In Turkish folklore, there are stories about theย Kaish-bajak creatureย ย , which is found in forests and other uninhabited places.ย Meeting him is extremely dangerous.ย This story is given by the Soviet Turkologist Vladimir Alexandrovich Gordlevsky:โโโโโโโ โโโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโโ โโโโโโโ โโโโโโโ โโโโโโ
Kaish-bajakย ย is found in the forests or along the road.ย From the loin upwards is a man, and downwards is a long tail.ย As soon as he envies a person on the road, he picks up his tail and, bowing his head to one side, pretends to be broken on his feet (kyudyurum).ย He piteously looks at the man, as if saying that he, poor thing, cannot move from his place, and with signs hints that the man should take him on his back.ย If a person hesitates to load it on his back, he falls with his face to the ground, and his hands are directed to the sky, as if begging the person to take pity on him in the name of God.ย And only a person will take him on his back, he will spread his tail and twine around his legs, so that a person, constrained in movement, falls to the ground;ย thenย Kaish-bajakย ย eats it alive. Therefore, the old people say edifyingly to the youth: "As soon as you sawย Kaish-bajakย ย in the forestย , look, do not take him on his back, but kill him!"ย Once a young man, walking in the forest, metย Kaish-bajakย ย ;ย remembering the advice of the old men, he drew a large knife and threw himself at him.ย But at that moment, when he wanted to cut off his head,ย Kaish-bajakย ย disappeared.ย A young man in the city later told that he had seen aย genieย ย in the forestย .โโโโโโโ โโโโโโโ โโโโโโ โโโโโโ

Hi again. Three weeks ago I posted about a project I'm working on. For those who haven't seen it yet:
>So, I am embarking on an interesting project. I intend to experience the best art and media humanity has to offer before I die. Namely this is all the highly notable and interesting books, plays, art, music, films, TV shows, and video games. I guess you could call it a bucket list. I've been indexing it chronologically and downloading it to an external hard drive.
I then solicited suggestions for highly notable/significant ancient and medieval literature that I was missing from an early draft of what the list would cover. I got over 100 responses; it was clear I was missing a lot. So, I pretty much started from scratch, doing multiple sweeps of any pre-Renaissance literature, and incorporated many of the suggestions I received, ranging from missing individual works to missing authors and cultures.
I should also note that in order to prevent this list from becoming unwieldly, I am limiting myself to 10,000 entries total, forcing myself to take a more deliberate and top-down approach. So far, I have 261 entries for the time span 4000 BC to 1400 AD: 12 Ancient-era, 121 Classical-era, and 128 Medieval-era works. 251 are literature, 10 are music. In other words, 2.61% of the list is Medieval era works or earlier, which seems quite reasonable to me and leaves plenty of room for more modern works spanning across more mediums.
I thought I would share what I have so far before I begin work on more modern stuff. Note that bolded entries are in the top 1,000 works, the cream of the crop, the most notable of all. If you're following along with me and don't want it to take a decade or longer to get through the whole completed list, just sticking to the bolded entries will give you a good taste too.

[ I had previously deleted this post after I got comments of people being very upset at me coming at the Devs like I did. Please remember that this is a rant, I didnโt make this as the tell all do all for the Devs. Please remember that while you read. ]
Before you ask, no, this is not about the recent updates (or lack there of), If you would like to see posts of this such nature, I assure you, this subreddit has plenty of the like. No, dear reader, you see, this is about (some) of the absolutely deplorable developers in this game, that is Royale High. Let me preface this by saying is you have some unnatural fondness towards the Devs for whatever reason, and think that due the poor reception of their recent updates, that we should all be going easy on them, then you are sorely mistaken, and let me tell you now, if you try to pull that โoH bUt tHe DeVs wOrK sO hARdโ, you will not be dealt a merciful hand, because I am not the one. I type of every goddamn word of this with rage that causes me so much pain, and because of the respect for all of you of the younger or sensitive demographic in this sub, and very the very few, extremely scare, actually decent Devs, that I will mind my language.
This is most likely going to be a long read, and even if you cannot will yourself to read, I ask you at least share or bring this matter to more peopleโs attention, on any platform, because this isnโt just some simple issue with farming, or not liking and update. This is addressing the blatant, harsh, and ignorant racism and prejudice bleeding under and through the corners of the nearly collapsing Jenga tower that is Royale High, perpetuated by the Devs, who so earnestly love to claim that their game is progressive and safe space with their sorry excuses of thrown together digital billboards, and a piss-poor acknowledgment hidden in the occasional update. And afterwards, they pat themselves on their spineless backs, and go on to name rare items in the game after the worst of their colleagues, who been been constantly exposed to the community, but I notice you all seem to act as if you have forgotten.
Now that I have prefaced this all for you, I would like to remind you all that this has many sensitive topics, PLEASE do not go forward if you are unsure, in anyway shape of form, that you cannot sit through this.
Let us begin.

##Pashinyan met the newly appointed Yerevan mayor Hrachya Sargsyan to discuss the reforms
Pashinyan: there was an institutional problem in the municipality, and it was resolved institutionally. What do I mean by that?
Yerevan has been implementing My Step bloc's pre-election program since 2018. In turn, that program was based on Yelk's 2017 program. [Pashinyan used to be a member of Yelk alliance and ran for Yerevan mayor against Taron Margaryan in 2017.]
The political responsibility lies with the My Step bloc and the Council majority. It is necessary to implement the program fully. Being the 1st deputy mayor, Mr. Sargsyan has been a full participant in the process to implement that program.
I attach importance to the process that took place, in terms of the establishment of state institutions. You are aware that settlements with a population of over 4,000 hold new elections, and it's the council that appoints a mayor. It is impossible to work without the council's majority support.
It is very important that today we have a harmonious situation between the mayor of Yerevan and the Council. The mayor must also cooperate with the opposition members of the Council. Here, too, the unifying role is very important.
So far we have provided all the support to the Yerevan municipality, and that support will continue. We will discuss the reform program's speed and direction. I wish you all best of luck. //
Mayor Hrachyan Sargsyan: I realize how big the responsibility is. I'm aware of the institutions we have today and what needs to be reformed to withstand shocks and carry out the functionality.
With the help of the government, we can implement programs that for some reason have been ignored for years. We have the potential. We just need effective management. //

The new low-floor buses will accommodate passengers with limited movement, including the elderly and disabled.

First and foremost, to get a general understanding of the city checkout the great wiki put up by some redditors https://www.reddit.com/r/paris/wiki/index. Also, the reddit search tool being not really efficient, to improve your search in the r/paris subreddit history, you can use third-party tools like https://redditsearch.io or https://redditcommentsearch.com
Second, a small disclaimer: this post doesn't aim at being a full guide on Paris but a selection of alternative or less touristic things to do. Post size being limited, choices have to be made : famous landmarks and museums are skipped, nice residential areas omitted. NB : websites in English are promoted when they exists.

Hey! I want to give my boyfriend (and also I want to get one for myself) a wooden necklace for his birthday. I have a friend who is interested in this and I will get help from her. She will engrave this symbol on the wooden necklace. I just need to choose symbols.
My bf is Turkish and I am Russian and unfortunately, I don't know much about Turkish folklore. I don't know if there is another subreddit where I can ask this.
I want to choose a symbol from Turkic mythology - folklore but my research on the internet didn't go well and I wanted to get help from you. Is there a site or resource where I can see symbols and their meanings? I want its meaning to be beautiful, special, romantic.
*My English is not very good, sorry if I made a mistake.

Germany 2010 ๐ฉ๐ช - This is a deserved winner granted I prefer her 2011 entry but still I find Satellite really catchy.
Italy 2011 ๐ฎ๐น - It really deserved 2nd. We honestly need more jazz entries because theyโre so unique.
Albania 2012 ๐ฆ๐ฑ - No itโs not just screaming.
Austria 2014 ๐ฆ๐น - Why does homophobia still exist. LGBT are people too and they deserve respect.
Russia 2014 ๐ท๐บ - I understand the huge controversy surrounding Russia during this year but why boo the singers itโs not their fault.
Ukraine 2016 ๐บ๐ฆ - Itโs annoying to see the sheer ignorance of people when they say this is just unnecessary screaming. What Jamala is doing is agit a way of expressing grief and sadness in Turkish Folklore. Also sheโs doing this as representation of the grief that the Crimean Tatarโs felt when they were deported by Stalin during WW2.
Georgia 2016 ๐ฌ๐ช - Arguably most the underrated Georgian entry. I just love how unique it is.
Portugal 2017 ๐ต๐น - As Salvador Sobral said โMusic is not fireworks, music is feelingโ.
Israel 2018 ๐ฎ๐ฑ - Even though my winner is Cyprus, Israel was a deserved winner. Also her chicken noises are representation of the bullying she experience before so stop making fun of her for that.
Sweden 2018 ๐ธ๐ช - Its so catchy. For me the public should have boycotted 2016 isnโt of 2018 & 2019.
Sweden 2019 ๐ธ๐ช - Ok its a bit on the generic side but still I like the song because of the vocals and Johnโs energy.
Iceland 2019 ๐ฎ๐ธ - I know that everybodyโs taste in music is different but itโs so rude to say that theyโre satanic. Like loud doesnโt equal satanic
Denmark 2019 ๐ฉ๐ฐ - Why are people making fun of her. One of the songs lyrics is literally โAnd who are we to judgeโ.
Russia 2021 ๐ท๐บ - To all the people that she doesnโt deserve to represent Russia because sheโs half Tajik just remember that Alexander Rybak is a half Belarusian that represented Norway in 2009 and he won. Also sending death threats to her is too far and so rude.
