Tulle Cathedral Puns

Hey all!

I'm selling my soft English tulle cathedral length ivory cape for $100. Worn only once to try on at dress alteration appointment. Nothing wrong with it, I had just decided to forgo the cape at the last minute on my wedding day.

The cape itself is beautiful and soft, with hidden metal clips that attach to the dress at the shoulders. Definitely worth the original price of $165. I’m lucky enough to be going to see Tull at Wakefield cathedral tonight for one of their festive performances. I wondered if any of you had been to one before and whether Ian tends to mind being asked to have a photo taken and sign an item or two? Don’t want to piss the great man off. Any thoughts...?

So the veils I like are cathedral & trimmed with lace. That’s usually around 130 + on Etsy, so I was thinking I’d buy a PLAIN cathedral veil, and add the appliqués myself.

This new plan would be around 50! But I’d have to trust that I’d get it right. I have plenty of time to remake it if I fail, since I’m getting married in nov of 2022. But I’m the kind of person that wants to get it right the first time.

Am I crazy for wanting to try to do this? Or should I try?

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

I'm getting married in December in a Catholic basilica (big cathedral). I want something classic and feminine with sleeves of some sort. I want to be fairly covered up (and boy has it been hard to find modest dress options in 2021!) and I'm down to these two options. I'm going to buy this weekend.

Option 1: Pics 1-3. Watters. The original dress I fell in love with at my very first appointment. Love the way it accentuates my waist, the lace is so unique - haven't seen anything else like it. Tried it on at two different boutiques $1,000. A little worried it's too dramatic since I really don't want people to say I look like a princess. Would possibly remove one layer of tulle and/or shorten the train.

Option 2: Jenny Yoo Bennett with a lace topper (not the topper I'm wearing in pics 3-4 but the one in pic 5). $1,300. Love the simplicity of the Bennett and the modern fabric and the buttons of course. Nervous about fit and flare and the infamous under-belly crease that type of dress creates. Wearing full Honeylove shapewear in the picture but it was also on a bloaty day. Tried on a size 14 which is clipped up, a bit hard to tell what it will really look like since I'm a 10 (and also because why am I standing so awkwardly? lol). I ordered this dress in the mail to try on in my size (hasn't arrived yet) as BHLDN has 30-day returns.
