So i own an old toyota carina (image below) and i would love to turn it in to a projekt car of some sorts. My main problem is i dont really know how to go by it or where to start.
As for the main goal. its basically restore it and maki it as good as new with a litle extra modern flavour to it.
One goal is ofc getting more powa out of this trash bag and i dont wanna do stuff like engine swaps or anyting really exspensive wanna keep it somewhat stock, but kinda like a stock ++ experience.
one thing i want to do is get a standalone ecu and retune it as the stock ecu is tuned for fuel efficency and not possible to reflash. im hoping to hit atleast above the stock us version of the engine (114hp)
As for bodymods changing the front bumper is a must since i sadly broke it a month ago, but i also kinda wanna go for "bolt on" fenders to continiue a sorta rally/street vibe but any mods that would make this old grandpa of a car fit more in to 2021 would be nice.
i sadly wanna go all out and turn it into a itasha by wrapping it but that would be way out of my price range.
My budget for the car is probably like 5k at max but woud rather not go over 2k
TLDR: wanna mod/restore a dirt bag for cheap
