A list of puns related to "Tool discography"
Iβve never personally seen them live but Iβve watched most of the concerts that are on YouTube and from what I can tell, they havenβt done songs like H., Eulogy, The Patient, Holy Trinity, etc in years. And they still do the grudge but Maynard always takes a lower harmony which just doesnβt sound quite as good. I can sing all of these songs a half step down and Maynard is 50 times the singer I am, so will they ever make the change? And if not, why not if theyβve already done it with the pot? CORRECTION: it is a whole step down to C, not a half step for The Pot
I thought this would be a fun exercise. Click shuffle on Tool's discography and post the first 10 songs that come up, followed by an intermission, and then the next 3 songs as the encore.
Others should rate the quality of this concert on a scale of 1-10. Comment on all qualities that make a concert great: catalogue of individual songs, transitions, range of albums covered, strong starts and finishes, etc. I'll start!

Out of the weird, experimental, 'non-musical' tracks usually found at the end of most Tool albums, which is your personal favourite ?
Hey, I really don't know where to post this so feel free to tell me / repost it.
I've created a pretty cool python script which uses Wikipedia and YoutubeDL to automatically download entire discographies, and it works surprisingly well !
I was scrolling through news about the upcoming release of Tool's 5th album in August after a 13 year hiatus of releasing music when I decided to read through the history of the band. I discovered something shocking. You see, Tool's debut album Undertow was released April 6, 1993. In the 1993 season, the Florida Gators had a stellar year. They won the SEC over Alabama and the Sugar Bowl over West Virginia, overall finishing No. 4 in the country (according to the coaches poll).
Tool became somewhat of a successful metal band, garnering a significant following across the world. They released their sophomore effort Γnima to the world September 17, 1996. This album, with fantastic songs such as 46 and 2 and the titular Γnima, rocketed Tool into the mainstream metal scene. That year, the Florida Gators finished 12-1, SEC Champions, Sugar Bowl Champions, and Consensus National Champions. See the pattern.
On May 15, 2001, Tool released Lateralus, an album considered by many one of the best albums ever made, metal or otherwise. The Gators had a solid year, finishing 10-2 and being crowned Orange Bowl Champions. However, it was a bittersweet year as after it, Steve Spurrier departed to the NFL. The only explanation I can give for Lateralus not yielding a National Championship for Florida is that the album is actually made by aliens possessing the bodies of the members of Tool because no humans can write music that good.
On April 28, 2006 Tool released their most recent album. 10,000 Days was a solid album, on par with Γnima in quality and received much praise, especially for it's display of the incredible technical skill of the band members. That season, Florida of course went on to be crowned National Champions again.
So what does this all mean? Well, Tool is releasing their fifth album late next month, as such Florida is destined for a good season. May Dan Mullen have mercy on our souls.
You should give beginning and ending timestamps for the section if you can remember them. I'm voting just the first minute of Rosetta for kicking me into the stratosphere. What's yours?
God theyβre amazing. I knew a bunch of their songs but I never listened to a full album before today. The only one I wasnβt crazy about was Fear Inoculum but it still had some good tracks. Itβs safe to say that theyβre one of my favorite bands now
and why is it Lateralus at 7:20?
I am still in high school, so I never got to experience any of Toolβs music first hand, and when all of their albums released on Spotify, I got super excited to try them out. I just finished listening to every one of their projects, from Opiate to 10,000 Days, and I gotta say... my mind is fucking blown, as expected. I donβt think it needs to be said that I will be listening to all of these albums repeatedly for who knows how long. Itβs safe to say that I am hella excited for this new album, and I am definitely a Tool fan now.
Lmk what you all think :)
Any advice or suggestions would be dope!
Made a few changes but I think this is the final revision. The plays list is available on Apple Music and Spotify under the name 7ΓΓΕ.
Apparently you cant edit the title, but evidently the Shadow of Intent single "Malediction" has been out for a week already. It just got added to Spotify today which is why i thought it was new. Sorry if i gave anybody false hope. Another note: Salival is not on spotify
There is this endless discussion in a small community to which I belong, and we can't come to a conclusion. For this I turn here. Well: in my opinion the answer is no. Personally I consider the song as a sort of demonstration of an incredible stylistic and compositional maturity in the band's journey, but itβs not something really "new" as it doesnβt evolve the sound of the previous Lateralus into something different, but rather deepens an already mature and accomplished sound through a new listening approach. I would like to hear your thoughts on this.
Third eye and Pushit are two of their best songs. Covers You Lied and No Quarter are perfect.
and new album this month. go get some TOOL up in you today!
Fear Inoculum is my first new Tool Album experience so I was wandering what songs took the longest for you to love from past album releases?

I shuffled their 5 LPs plus Opiate. Segue songs included. No cheating, what you get is what you get. Hereβs what I got:
Iβd say I fared pretty well!
