A list of puns related to "Tidus"
I always like doing weird shit was going to go full magic team when possible. Can it be done and are his base stats just going to be too bad? Does he get magic boosting equipment? I did this with cloud in ff7. Will use expert grid obviously to get started straight away.
(Requested by Ashjacky. Would not stop pestering me to write one for this guy)
This is a fully fleshed out re-evaluation of a unit that has been released for a long time now.
Tidus has been slightly misunderstood, and i'm going to try and explain to the people out of the loop as to what his primary purposes are and what he's actually strong at.
I will also discuss his AI, and what he likes to do in auto pvp with different sub jobs.
STATS
Base stats considered, he's extremely well rounded. He's really fast, has good ATK, solid HP, really solid DEX and above average LUCK.
With the innate 20 defense pierce, 6 DEF, 23 crit rate and 10 slash/missile res, he's got the makings of a textbook anti-physical bruiser.
He does have a -10 weakness to magic, which is ultimately his biggest weakness, but his anti-physical role has been refined to be relatively useful.
Oh, here's a note to keep in mind. Based on how the meta has evolved and shifted from when he first released, Tidus' purpose is to be a support unit with flex tanking and damage. He is NOT a tank.
SUB JOBS
Main Sub has a crit damage niche. it's kinda eh compared to what Samurai and Paladin can do.
Samurai and Paladin literally define his entire playstyle (even more so than most other units), so you need to be very meticulous with how you build him based on which sub job you set-up.
Samurai enables him as an evade unit/crit dps. It has Nightveil for blinds, Machine Killer for hunting those 2Bs (helps reduce the one-sided nature of the 9S Match-Up too), a Crit Rate buff and (probably the most significant thing), a +25 evade buff from Illusion.
Paladin sets him up as a support/bruiser kind of unit. Barriers, Stuns, Hate Generation + AOE attacks with Taunting Blade (this is a finicky one), he's extremely unlikely to die to physical damage if he has his barrier active with this sort of playstyle.
We already knew all of this stuff, so why is it significant now?
Samurai sub is usually used to set up other evade units, because the illusion buff helps mitigate the need for said evade unit to buff their evasion themselves (there are exceptions to this, such as Vinera). It also enables him as an extremely obnoxious damage dealer with massive crit damage.
Paladin sub is used mostly for the Sentinel buff. Saintly Wall is nice, but he'll use it over Hastega and it can ultimately lose you fights sometimes. Taunting Blade is also insanely expensive, and he will always use Saintly W
... keep reading on reddit β‘After rewatching, replaying, writing (and fixing) a fanfiction, and asking questions, I can certainly understand why Tidus is so confused about a lot of things.
I know itβs pronounced βtee-dusβ, but I call him βtie-dus.β I think it just sounds better and matches the theme of water better. What do yβall think?
Let me start this post off by saying that I love Tidus.
As to why I would argue that Tidus is the best FF protagonist.. He's human. He acts like a normal Human would. If a normal person irl would be plucked out from the comfort of their homes and lives into a world with monsters and a humongous threat of death lurking in every waking moment, They would act like Tidus would.
Yes, At times he is whiny. But can you honestly say that if you were transported from your current life, all of a sudden.. into spira, that you would not complain or whine and that you would be 100% fine with it? I doubt many would be able to say yes with honesty.
But that's not all ofcourse. He changes the world like no one has ever done before, or even tried before. Because of him, Sin is gone for good.
He knows for certain that if he succeeds in his mission, He will die. It's not like the other FFs (Except FFXV) where they think '' If I do this, I may die. There's a possibility that we may not succeed''. If they are victorious, He will fade away, and yet he still pushes forward knowing this. Not only for Yuna, But for all of Spira. Tidus is truly selfless.
We all have that opening scene of "Listen to my story" in our minds, but I can't remember if he precisely says "This is my story" ever. I only remember when he says >!"Yuna, this is !<our >!story...", before Yunalesca battle, !<
If you want 10 STMR tickets and 500 lapis.
Currently there's a lot of Tidus' with Fairy killer if you don't have your own.
Since a lot of people have Caladbolg equipped, the strat is gimped. Water element will do significantly less damage, and you'll have to do imperils and amps around that. You can filter your friends list for non elemental Tidus.
You can OTKO the elf triple SR chaining Spiral Cut+ that's been ice imbued.
Basic Party:
SP Tidus (triple SR)
Ice Imbue (Yoshikiri, Elena, etc)
Passive Provoker (Either gear, or if you're lazy Avalanche Jessie)
Any other triple SR chainer equipped with ice
Breaker (Deprotect 70% from any esper is good enough)
Imperil maybe (Imperil from any esper is good enough)
Yoshikiri BS is good as he has Imbue/Imperil/amp, and small atk buff.
Bulwark BS (don't have him) looks great too as he has fairy killer with ice imbue/imperil/amp.
EX2 Tidus was doing ~1.2 billion (need 850m). And there's room for extra with buffs, better breaks, imperils, weapon breaks, and ice amps.
Also, it's pretty tight, but it's possible to OTKO the 5LB mission, but requires a few specific units at EX2, so not friendly to many players. Probably better options, but thought I'd share .
Ex2 Tidus (finisher) ~1.2bil
Ex2 CD Aerith BS (tag chain/ LB buff)
7* FS Vaan (Break/Fire imperil for Aerith)
Ex2 TG Celes BS (Ice imbue/amp)
Ex2 Riesz (Any Ice imperil LB)
Any Provoker
Iβve tried so many times just testing his overdrive to see if it will and it just does not work. Not matter what I press, A, B, nothing works. Iβve seen a lot of other posts online and it seems like others are having issues as well. Iβm playing on portable mode on switch. If anybody has figured out a solution pls let me know
Hey I know this game has been out for a while, but I love it and spend my days trucking listening to it over and over.
After listening to the playthrough multiple times I can conclude Tidus was real, and killed at birth. Hear me out, dispute my claims, I have this entire game pretty much memorized.
[https://youtu.be/LzpTMmlR6G0](Link to full story for reference)
Evidence 1.) When Tidus first meets the fayth on Mt Gagazet, he is told by The Bevelle Fayth "I've known about you for a long time. A long, long time." 8:36:53
2.) Right before Sin takes Tidus to Zanarkand, there is a bright light. Tidus says "My old man?" and then swims through the ruins of Zanarkand meeting himself as a child. 16:30
3.) A major pothole in the accepted theory lies in how Jecht got to Zanarkand. The fayth Ifrit tells Tidus that the day Jecht disappeared, Jecht was practicing in the ocean and touched Sin, thereby being sent into Spira. (Not found on YouTube)
4.) The Fayth of Bevelle stated The Fayth summoned "all the buildings of Spira, all the people who lived there". Tidus asks "What, so the people living there they are all dreams?" The fayth responds "Yes". 08:41:00
5.) At the beginning of the game, in one of the few instances where there is a narrator other than Tidus, a Blitzball commentator tells the story of a Jecht, who disappeared out into sea. 00:05:30
6.) Although unconfirmed, I read that one of the aeons revealed Yu Yevon missed Zanarkand, and returned to DZ to visit it, accidentally touching Jecht, and accidentally bringing Summoned Jecht outside of the dream Zanarkand. This could be Ifrit too but I dont remember this part of the story well and cant find a gameplay source.
7.) Although Tidus is all grown up, Jecht and Auron still repeatedly still refer Tidus as a crybaby. Even in Tidus's dream at the beginning of the story, he is transformed back into the crying child he was when his parents were still alive. (Time Stamp)
Conclusion The Fayth never say they dream new people, but rather said they dream the people who existed. The fayth also say they knew about Tidus for a long, long, time. The dream Zanarkand seems to revolve in some sort of spiral, or time loop, repeating the same dream of Zanarkand existing as if Bevelle never attacked the city.
Because Shuyin is a doppelganger of Tidus, and because the Fayth stated they dream of people who existed before Bevelle destroyed the city, we can assume Bevelle attacked Zanarkand some
... keep reading on reddit β‘I just finished the remastered version of the game after watching my brother playing it years and years ago. It was awesome! So much nostalgia, and the game still holds up so well after all these years.
I thought the ending was so perfect and satisfying, but there was one part that really stuck out to me that I haven't seen mentioned here that I wanted to talk about - the high five between Tidus and Jecht at the very end.
So many of the characters and relationships were handled so well, but I think the best one was Tidus and Jecht (Tidus and Yuna being a close second).
Tidus and Jecht have a real love/hate relationship. Tidus's feelings toward his father are very complicated - Tidus obviously really resents and Jecht and blames Jecht for how he disappeared on Tidus and his mother (although it wasn't really Jecht's fault). At the same time, I think Tidus deep down loves and looks up to his father as evidenced by him becoming a pro blitzer like his father and the sheer amount of emotion he shows when he finally confronts Jecht at the end by running to catch Jecht when he falls.
As for Jecht, he obviously really cares about Tidus based on the fact that he sends Auron to look after him once he becomes sin. Jecht is definitely tough on Tidus (always calling him a crybaby), but he wants what's best for his son and is proud of what Tidus has done in Spira.
Furthermore, I think Tidus has a serious inferiority complex when it comes to his father. He tries to emulate the Jecht Shot, becomes a pro-blitzer, and becomes a guardian just like his father. Not to mention his mother ignores him when Jecht is around. Tidus always seems to be competing with the memory of his father. When the finally meet, they exchange these words:
>Jecht: Ha! You got tall, but you're all bones! You eating right boy? (sincerely) You've really grown.
>
>Tidus: Yeah, but you're still bigger.
>
>Jecht: Well, I am sin, you know.
>
>Tidus: That's not funny.
He is constantly comparing himself to Jecht, and he doesn't think he measures up. He also hates the fact that his father is sin and that he has to fight him to the death. Not until Tidus defeats Jecht in battle does he finally seem to accept the fact that he is good as his father. That is why I love their high five scene so much - such a simple scene really says so much about their relationship and how Tidus now sees himself on equal footing as his father.
The high five and Yuna whistling (*che

So this is a song called 'Whistle my Love' it's from a movie called The Story of Robin Hood and his Merrie Men which was released in 1952 and it is performed by a guy called Elton Hayes, who plays Alan-a-Dale in that film, and I must say, this reminds me very much of Tidus and Yuna, because of the lyrics.
Whistle my love and I will come to thee, I'll always find you no matter where you may be. What's amazing is that I knew very little about the game when I first watched the movie on Disney+ (watched it because of lockdown) and hadn't played the game until over a year later, and it was only recently that I realised that this feels like it was written about Tidus and Yuna, you know, considering it's about Robin Hood promising to come to Maid Marian's side if she whistles, a lot like how Tidus and Yuna promise the same thing, someone has got to make an AMV of this.
(I like old movies by the way. Unusual for a lass my age.)
It's been a hard couple of days... Or hours? Anyways Tidus gets hit by a blitzball, and love at first sight.
