A list of puns related to "Third Crusade"
I know we just had a post about it. Some may be sick about the subject already, but I wanted to clarify this matter. This is an unusual leak, since it is so cryptic, which helped create confusion about what it meant.
There is plenty of folks (and even sites) looking at the teasers by the french youtuber Jonathan and reaching a wrong conclusion. It is not 100 Years War or just Lorraine in France.
Grain of salt, as always, but these are the hints given on his video: (16) LA VΓRITΓ SUR LE PROCHAIN ASSASSIN'S CREED - YouTube
........................................................................................................
- Templar Cross - This needs no explaining. But it is interesting how much Templar content is in the video overall. Could be hinting at a playable Templar Knight.
- Island Icon (Corfu, Greece) - After leaving Acre and ending his Crusade in 1192. It was here that Lionheart learned of a meeting between King Philip and the Holy Roman Emperor Henry VI, where Henry promised to arrest Richard if he landed in Italy.
- Coordinates (Dubrovnik, Croatia) - Another temporary stop for Lionheart on his way back to England. Legend says that a storm forced RichardΒ΄s ship to crash at the island. The king was so grateful that he spent money to build a church on the nearby town.
- Colors Code (red, white and blue) - Most likely the flag of France, which was very important for Richard. In his youth, he became Duke of Aquitaine. The, he spent his last years fighting Philip II for french territory and got killed in 1199 during a small siege.
- Ring Icon (The One Ring from Lord of the RIngs) - Might be a reference to a Piece of Eden? AC3 had an Isu ring that could deflect bullects and other metal objects. In regards to Richard, the only notable ring he had was from Saint Valerie, which he recieved in his youth when turned into Duke of Aquitaine. Might explain his "invicibility" in battles.
- Coordinates (Sofia, Bulgaria) - Seems to hint at Ubisoft Sofia, lead studio of AC: Liberation and AC: Rogue + support in other main games (Curse of Pharaos DLC and Cyrene Region in Origins, for example).
- Spotify QR (Edmund) - The name does not ring any bells in the Third Crusade. In AC lore, the name is often tied to Templars. Possibly our protagonistΒ΄s name? It has english origin and means "protector of prosperity".
- *Arabic word (Rashid) -

Development Blog #2 (30/03/2021) news - Medieval Third Crusade mod for Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Mod DB
Now i have always been passionate about two things - History and Value Investing.
So I just made up this true story to broker a confluence of the two. Tancred Hauteville the Norman King of Sicily during the Third Crusade is gonna teach you the Five forces of the Market. As you were the illegitimate son of your father you immediately had your step-mother imprisoned so that she wont be a nuisance.
Unfortunately your step-mother happened to be the sister of Richard Lionheart who was enroute to Acre for the third Crusade. Richard stopped at Sicily made you release Joan and also her dowry.
>Thus sayeth Tancred, "If the PERSON WHO GAVE YOUR FATHER A HANDSOME DOWRY IS STRONGER than you, then you will be bullied and taken for a ride."
On reaching Cyprus you are joined by Phillip II of France as well as Frederick Barbarossa of the HRE with an even larger army than Richard and yours combined forces.
>Thus sayeth Tancred, "Always keep an eye to the North, you never know when those bastards ENTER YOUR PLAYING FIELD UNSAID."
Tancred thought he was the one who hated Richard the most but he was sorely mistaken. Phillip II hated Richard even more as that English bastard controlled vast swathes of his land and was technically his vassal. But Richard had the gall to call himself King the same rank as Phillip. Frederick too was not gaga about Richard as he had supported Henry of the House of Welf against him. On top of that the ruler of Cyprus Issac Komnenos too was not happy about Richard. Phillip complained of dysentery and went back to France. Promptly thereafter Frederick died creating a panic amongst the soldiers that maybe Richard was the one who poisoned Frederick.
>Thus sayeth Tancred, "Richard was a mighty bastard and all the other bastards hated him, despised him. I knew this RIVALRY was not good for the Crusade."
Then the Pope in Rome gave the ultimate shocker. Only the person who takes Jerusalem will be promised a place in heaven. others will get olive oil from olives grown in Sicily and bought by the Pope last year from Tancred.
>Thus sayeth Tancred, "If the PERSON WHO BUYS OLIVES FROM YOU IS STRONGER, then he will dictate to whom he shall give the most olive oil. Also he may refuse to give you whatever he promised earlier if he felt like it"
Now Tancred was done with it. This entire crusade bullshit. Saladin was too strong, the walls of Jerusalem too thick and no co-operation between the existing players who were already fighting for Jerus

Iβm writing this because I am just curious as to whether Paradox will add new start dates, I.e. Third Crusade at some point? I mean there are so many accomplished leaders around that period of history. Europe was essentially a nest of intrigue.
When someone mentions medieval history I instantly think of Richard Couer de Lion, AliΓ©nor d'Aquitaine, Baldwin, Renaud de ChΓ’tillon, Saladin, Kilij Arslan etc..
Hello again. For those who dont know, I am the lead dev on Mount and Blade: Medieval Third Crusade. Before I show you our progress, I would like to thank you all for your support. Seriously, I cant thank you enough.
I'm currently interested in the third crusade and in Saladin. I found a lot about sources which picture how he was seen before the third crusade by the Christians and before the conquest of Jerusalem. My question is now are there any good sources about Saladin from the times during the third crusade, like chronics or stuff like this which might can explain our todays view on him?
Saladin and Richard the Lionheart, the chief leaders of Christian and Muslim forces during the third crusade, at one point discussed their siblings getting married and making them the rulers of the kingdom of Jerusalem. This ended when issues of conversation happened, but letβs say the multi-faith marriage and kingdom happened. As a compromise between Muslim and Christian powers
Either German Emperor Frederick Barbarossa survived his infamous river drowning or the army continued on without him.
I know a lot on the Fourth Crusade and the impact that had on the Byzantine Empire. Could those events have been avoided?

I want to play as Salah al-Din, Richard Lionheart, and Guy, but to my knowledge there is no option. I'd think that when thinking of the crusades, notable figures such as the ones I've listed would pop up. Do you think they'll come in the next expansion?
Isn't it a bit excessive to be hit with three crusades within the reign of my 57 year old Asatru ruler of England? I mean, praise be to Odin for all of the captives, but it took me like 10 years to defend against each of the first two crusades, and now there's a third? There's been only a few years of non-crusading for a 40 year period!
It is such a slog at this point... for some reason, I'm generally not receiving any Objective war score even without having lost any sieges. So although I can beat the Catholic armies again and again for years until they're a tenth of my armies' strength, my war score takes around ten years to climb to 100% from that alone. I cannot siege anything down, because I have no siege weapons, so they can siege three of my holdings in the time I can siege one of theirs (which is mostly across the sea anyway). I wish the game would acknowledge the futility of their efforts faster.
Well, not fully futile I guess, as somehow each crusade is not weaker than the last, despite Catholicism disintegrating slowly. Somehow their fervor climbs back up. Somehow they can stay together well enough despite all of their counts and mayors being sacrificed to the Norse gods. I was a Living Legend and Religious Idol before 50.
Please, I just want peace to reform my religion :(((
Jonathan is a french youtuber who has been teasing the next AssassinΒ΄s Creed for a while now. He had info before on Valhalla, even naming the protagonist as Jora (which was confirmed by Darby to be one of the earlier options for Eivor. In the final game, she still uses it in Vinland).
Grain of salt, of course, nothing is confirmed and all of this can turn out to be fake.
But I really want to expand on the teasers made by him in his latest video, as seen here: (16) LA VΓRITΓ SUR LE PROCHAIN ASSASSIN'S CREED - YouTube
These are my attempts in decoding his hints based on othersΒ΄ opinions and a bit of Google-fu [special thanks to our moderator nstav13 for helping me!].
The AssassinΒ΄s Creed Wikia has been a great source too. Feel free to add more to it! Or you can also skip ahead for the conclusion.
