I tried to search for a discussion about this and found a lot about then album itself with a lot of talk about how great it is - which I definitely agree with - but I was mostly curious to find out: what is everyoneβs view on Part 1 versus Part 2? Iβve always thought that Part 1 is a prog epic to rival Supperβs Ready or Awaken or Karn Evil 9, while Part 2 feels like a jumble of lesser produced variations on the original. Is that the intention, or was the song intended as a literal b-side to the first part? Any insight into the work that went into the album would be greatly appreciated!
I love the conceptional piece to it, as well as the blend of the many different instruments. Any suggestions?
Hey everyone,
So I'm a long time lurker here, and forgive me if I'm wrong, but I noticed that this album seems to go under appreciated.
God damn... I honestly cannot even express how much I love this album. For me, it is the at the top of my list for classic prog rock albums.
Please don't /r/wokekids me.
Three years ago I was listening to a Harry Potter audiobook^* and came to Reddit to find pictures of cats with bottlebrush tails. I couldn't find a specific subreddit, so /r/Bottlebrush was born.
Since then we've grown to over 4,000 subscribers and have laughed and awwwed at some wonderful cats. Let's hope we see many more Crookshanks in the years to come.

*Read by Stephen Fry whose narration is described as "Having warm, double-thick cream poured into your ears".
In Melisandre's Pov chapter, she gives us this insight
>Yet now she could not even seem to find her king. I pray for a glimpse of Azor Ahai, and Rahloo shows me only Snow
This is interesting considering that only a page earlier she says
>She had to be certain. Many a priest and priestess before her had been brought down by false visions, by seeing what they wished to see instead of what the Lord of Light had sent.
I'm amazed she doesn't see the immediate irony here. And she seems so sure of herself (or maybe she's just cocky)
>There was no one, even in her order, who had her skill at seeing the secrets half-revealed and half-concealed within the sacred flames.
I'm fairly certain GRRM wrote these intentionally to show us that not even Melisandre knows what's going on. True, Jon may not be Azor Ahai, but she immediately contradicts herself at seeing what she wants to see, instead of what the Lord of Light shows her,
>Show me Stannis, Lord, she prayed. Show me your king, your instrument.
The last thing the fires show her, is Jon Snow. She doesn't even see Stannis once during those set of visions.
tl;dr Melisandre isn't as smart as she seems to think she is
